I can't get the link to work but I bet Abigail is on there somewhere. Probably in the top 20 I imagine.
Edit to add I just went to the website to get to the link and Abigail is number 8 last year and has been super popular for decades! Oh well I don't know anyone named Abigail but I am sure there will be tons when she hits school..
Our girls name is in the 900's for popularity... and until 2014 it wasn't even in the top 1,000 so it has no ranking before last year!
Our boys name is more popular and is in the mid-100's - which doesn't super surprise me, since I've kind of heard of it making a come-back.
It definitely won't deter us - My daughter's name was 147th in 2014, which has also been making a comeback. I do like older names that are classics, yet not super popular, so it's ok with me. I have never chosen a top 10 name as a favorite anyway, so I wasn't expecting the names to be that high on the list.
Our girl's name is all the way down in the 500's and apparently the name Hayley has been falling in popularity since 2000. Only 3% of female babies born last year had her name. Score!

Our boy name keeps slowly creeping up to low 50s. While our girl name would have been in the high 700s. There were alot of names we considered until we found out they were in the top 10. I always loved that I rarely came across anyone with same name though now it's in the top 5 and everywhere.

No variation of our name that I could come up with has been in the top 1000 since 1900, but it's a compound name and the components have both been popular. :/ Not sure how I feel about that. I guess at least it's a unique concoction while maintaining familiarity?
Bah... All my kids names are in the top 100, but the most popular of my kiddos- Tyler, is dropping rapidly... So high five for that! Madeline and the new baby (Zachary) are nearing the edge of the top 100... Hopefully they will fall off and go up above 100 within the next year or so.
I can't complain.. Hubby is William and my name is Sarah, we've always been top 10 growing up so we are used to a million of us in a classroom or social setting so it didn't bother us too much if our kids names were super popular. We just went with what we liked and what sounded nice with our last name! (Ok, hubby picked Tyler due to fight club... I didn't know that at the time... I wouldn't have been as ok with naming our son after a crazy multiple personality character... )
Our current pick, Miranda, is #238. This pleases me.
I went through school with a very common name (there were 4 other girls on my lacrosse team with it) and I always had to go by my Firstname Last-initial. I hated it.
Our name is above 950. DS's nickname that he goes by is ranked in the high 600's but I'm sure it's more popular if parents don't register it as the official name with social security. We didn't. My name was a top 10 for my birth year. It is what it is.

Our little girls name peaked in popularity in the low 20's for much of the 1990's before steadily falling to 103 in 2013, and is exactly 100 for 2014. I'm fine with this!

Miranda was on our top 5 girls name list... but it's didn't make the cut.

our girl name wasn't on the charts for twenty five years but not it is back and slowly rising to the top...it is 367. interestinggg....our boy name is pretty popular, but it is a common, boring name because SO and I couldn't agree on anything else. hahaha
My name was uncommon when I was growing up, (not even in the top 1000 the year I was born), then started surging in popularity in the 2000's and is now in the top 20. I preferred it when it was less common :-)
Is Leo your boy name?? Leo is our boy's name! I would have a hard time if it was all of a sudden top 5, but #97, I'm totally okay with
Yeah I think we may have noticed we have the same boy name in a different post? Leo is a lot higher up on the 2014 Canadian list interestingly enough. Without looking it up again, I think it is something in the 30-40 range in that list.
Widget123 - sorry, preggo brain I was probably excited last time too lol I thought on the 2014 list, I thought it was high 60's, low 70's. Either way, I'm still good with that.

Hey what's the Canadian list? I've never really looked too hard into it but was wishing I knew where it was!

Sweet thanks Widget123!! So as of Saturday our boy name completely changed from our two options to a different one (one that, might I add, I pushed for during DS's pregnancy, and H doesn't seem to recall this when he told me the name he likes now...but I digress).
Anyway, it's a top 10 name on the American list but not even on my provincial top 20 as I suspected so yay!
Gianna is #95 and the middle name we've chosen isn't even on the list!
If we had a boy he would be Lucca Christian which rank in at 740 and 42. Glad our choices are too popular!
Did anyone else look up their own names? Mine is at 814. Since when did Kristen become such an unpopular name?? I knew so many other Kristen/Kristin's growing up! Maybe if they combined the 2 spellings it would be up higher. My H's name is suuuuuper uncommon and he's at 826, so it's crazy to me that our names would be so close on the list!

It's spelling related. Sometime this week or next namenerds will put out a list which combines spellings and gives you a better idea of where a name stands.
As a "for instance" DH and I were looking at the list on our drive this weekend and there is a variation of Camden and Connor almost every hundred names. So even though "Camden" is ranked at 100, the various spellings probably have it closer to being in the top 50. And "Connor" could be top 25 instead of 52.
