Weeks/Fruit: 18w3d/ Bell peppers
Symptoms: Just regular mild annoyances, still enjoying the honeymoon phase of 2nd tri! Finally starting to gain back some of weight I lost. AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: My next bi-weekly growth scan is tomorrow afternoon.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: None for now. QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? It was the last day of our babymoon. The ILs met us with our little one (she stayed the weekend with them) at the resort where we stayed and we all had a nice brunch together, then we said goodbye to them and spent the rest of the day driving home. We live far from my side of the family so just phone calls and Facetime for them.
Symptoms: Occasional back ache and RLP that cause trouble sleeping. Extra sneezing and snot, but that could be allergies. I'm finally feeling the babies move more consistently. I can't wait until MH can feel it and I can tell him if it's our boy or girl!
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: 5/19, 6/3, 6/18. Apparently they want to check babies' growth every two weeks. They were only 12% different at my a/s on 5/6. Any idea why so often?
I also have the breastfeeding, birthing, and newborn classes over the next six weeks. It'll be nice to get those out of the way.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: How often and strong should uterine cramps be at this point? I feel them several times a day and it makes me nervous that it's too often. Do I need to drink more, take a magnesium supplement, rest more...?
And is my doctor getting an accurate reading of my weight gain? For my base weight, they're using my minimum weight from 1st trimester when I had stomach flu and was probably completely cleaned out and a bit dehydrated (146 lbs). And that was without clothing. Before this FET cycle started, I weighed about 150 lbs. Every time I go to the doctor they weigh me with shoes and everything. I think my last doc-measured weight was around 165 lbs fully dressed and full of water since I was supposed to give a urine sample. The max I've measured at home first thing in the morning without clothing is 159 lbs. So I've gained somewhere between 9 lbs and 19 lbs. It seems to me that the methodology might change their opinion on my weight gain. But babies were 10 oz and 12 oz, which they said was fine. Gah!
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? Resting, napping, and a bit of cleaning. MH and I had about 30 people from our jujutsu club over Saturday night and we were bushed! Oh, and we hosted MIL for brunch, but we do that almost every week. It would have been nice to do something more fun, but MH and I needed the rest and MH has contracted the nasty cold that's been going around. I hope I don't get it!
Symptoms: Oh god the pelvic pain. Getting some physio next week so hopefully I can curb this like I somehow managed to with back pain.
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: Lots of upcoming appointments but actually not until 28 weeks.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: I've had a weird sore bit near the top of my bump, sort of inline with the bottom of my ribs but in the middle. It gradually shows up during the day and then by night it feels like I'm completely bruised there. Anyone have any ideas what it is? I've felt pretty much every kind of RLP there is going now, but this seemed different...
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? DH and I went swimming, ate pastries with lots of cups of tea out in the garden under the sun, and I made a very expensive phone call home to talk to my mama.
@feegan I did mention the contractions to the OB and she doesn't seem to be concerned if they're not painful. They are testing my urine and blood pressure at every appointment, but I think they're only looking for protein and maybe glucose in the urine. Everything is fine so far.
@feegan, I feel you on the heartburn, it's the worst! I tried Zantac and Tums but honestly the only thing that helps me is a glass of milk when I feel it coming on. Sorry about the back pain .
nomnom, if your OB isn't concerned about the contractions then I wouldn't worry too much. Try to relax and stay as hydrated as possible. I believe if you have more than 4 contractions (Braxton Hicks) in an hour that warrants a call to the OB. Hopefully it's nothing, but I just started having them more regularly as well and I get how stressful they can be!
elvenqueen, it could possibly be one of the babies putting pressure on your ribs. I would ask at your next appointment, hopefully it resolves soon!
Weeks/Fruit: 32/Florida Pomelo according to Ovia. Whatever the hell that is.
Symptoms: I've had some BH throughout the days more often recently, general fatigue and pelvic pressure, peeing all day. I had some light spotting last night which threw me for a loop.
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: I started my weekly ultrasounds this morning and they checked Baby A's placenta because of the spotting but everything looks fine. My doctors think that I could be dilating a bit from the contractions, which can soften the cervix and cause some spotting. It went away soon after I had it and hasn't reappeared since, so they just said to keep an eye on it and let them know if it returns or if I have pain or anything. My BP is still quite high so I'm doing another 24 hour urine catch tomorrow and a follow up appointment Friday. Plus I have a sinus infection. So basically this week sucks! The one exciting part of the ultrasound this morning was that the tech could tell that both babies have a lot of hair .
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Not really, just feeling super overwhelmed. This is my finals week for my last semester of coursework for my graduate program so I need to get a lot done but the spotting/stomach virus/sinus infection have all really messed with my ability to get work done. Once this week is over we really need to focus on getting our place ready for the babies. I'm starting to feel the pressure, we're only four weeks away from our goal of 36 weeks and it's getting real.
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? I didn't do anything, but saw my mom and took her for lunch Saturday. DH got me flowers, chocolates, and a card for my soon-to-be a mom gift!
Symptoms: Queasy, Sciatic issues that just popped up, and some acid reflux. OH- and trouble breathing!
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: U/S tomorrow morning! Hoping all looks good!
Questions/Comments/Concerns:
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? We went over to my mom's house for a BBQ with my MIL and my H's brothers. It was nice. I got a few soon to be Mother cards and some flowers! It was nice of people to think of me. Also, everyone was taking a poll on when they think the babies will come and NOBODY thinks that it will be in June except for my H. G-dwilling he is right!
nomnom I started to have some cramping and a few yucky contractions around 24 weeks. If I drank a lot it usually helped, but my OB said it was normal for the rapid pace of growth the uterus was going through.
Symptoms: Heartburn.is.awful. Sometimes I feel like I may puke it's so bad. Trying to eat small meals and taking TUMs like crazy. My varicose veins are still feeling pretty awful. Other than that just feeling large and tired easily.
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: Had a check up last Friday and all went well. I go back to the MFM for another growth u/s on the 18th to check on baby girl's marginal cord insertion. I'm trying not to worry about it but worrying is what I do best
Questions/Comments/Concerns: none for now
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? Mother's Day was laid back and restful, just what I needed and wanted. DH and my little boy brought me breakfast in bed with flowers and a handmade card. Super sweet! Then we had my ILs over for dinner last night.
Symptoms: horrible rib pain on the left side of my rib cage after a bad bout of allergies and lots of coughing. Got sent to L&D for a NST on Saturday since I couldn't even take more than short breaths without pain. Babies are doing great though and pain is subsiding thankfully. Other than that I'm feeling great!
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: growth scan with the MFM on Friday. Hoping baby girl's fluid level in her kidneys is within normal limits now. OB appt next Tuesday
Questions/Comments/Concerns:
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? We went to a brunch at one of the resorts here that was delicious and they had kids activities. Then we got the cribs together and closet painted. Now that we finally have furniture put together I can start organizing their stuff and decorating their room.

I'll play this week. I feel like I'm so "young" in this pregnancy, and there are so many questions and concerns that I won't get any answers to until next week. But for today, I am embracing this pregnancy!
Weeks: 11w1d, I have no idea what fruit that is.
Symptoms: still in the throes of first trimester; morning sickness (more like all day), constipation, heartburn. All that jazz.
Upcoming appointments: I have my NT scan and first consultation appointment with the MFM on the 18th. It will be the first ultrasound since my 8 week viability, which revealed the twins! I'm a nervous wreck.
Questions/comments/concerns: So many questions. We don't know what kind of twins they are. The first ultrasound report stated that only one gestational sac was seen, but no mention of placenta. Also, Baby A was measuring 8 weeks (according to LMP I was 8w2d, so basically perfect), but Baby B measured 6w3d. They did report two fetal poles and two heartbeats, but did not record the actual BPM. So there are some obvious questions about their level of detail, but even with all that, my OB or the MFM didn't see the need to do another ultrasound any earlier. I am not a "wait and see" kinda gal. The only thing that *might* help make this week go faster is that we have DD's first birthday party on Saturday and I have a lot to do. Hopefully I'll be distracted.
QOTW: DH let me sleep in while he took care of DD. Then we did brunch with his family at his cousin's house. I made a french toast casserole with Challah bread, and it was fabulous! It was a low key day, but very nice.
lunabug924, FX that everything looks beautiful on the 18th! I remember I was so freaked out going in for my NT scan after finding out we had twins at 8 weeks-- my BP was through the roof at my appointment before the ultrasound. I'm sure it will go great, but I'm sending you hugs anyway because I know how stressful the wait is!

Weeks/Fruit: 18/ sweet potatoes Symptoms: still morning gagging. When I gagged this morning I peed myself...
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: Our a/s is on the 21st and our gender reveal party is the 23rd
Questions/Comments/Concerns: nope QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? My MIL was in town for the weekend since Sunday was both Mother's Day and her birthday. We went out for dinner on Saturday to celebrate. On Sunday we went to church and made a homemade dinner.
12w3d- plums or kiwi? Symptoms: Weird appetite with nausea, cramping, back pain. A little more energy, totally in maternity pants. Also, just noticed this week that my boobs are HUGE. I've been avoiding buying new bras, but its time Next appt is May 20th for reduction to twins Kinda scary weekend- after the CVS on Wednesday, I had almost no side effects until Sunday afternoon when I started cramping, which kept me up last night and woke me up at 3am today. Ended up spending the day in the ER (everything takes more time with multiples!) only to find everyone is doing just fine, although there is a SCH close to A. The radiology tech laughed when one of them head-butted the other. I managed not to look during my CVS and only saw movement out of the corner of my eye today, it's just really hard to imagine we'll be down to twins next week. QOTW: DH bought me a video camera so we could record the upcoming remodel and then the babies, but otherwise we laid low. I lost my mom 2 years ago, so Mother's Day is hard.
Edit: I totally copied most of my post from PAIF today
nomnom Hopefully they're not using your weight to make any kind of medical decisions, that sounds wildly inconsistent/inaccurate!
elvenqueen Your Mother's Day sounds divine. Hope you get some relief from the pelivc pain.
@sassycassieb Oof, sorry to hear about the spotting and BP issues! Hope things calm down for you. I am doing my baseline 24 hr urine this weekend, good times. Do you just park yourself at home the whole time?

Weeks/Fruit: 24, cauliflowers, di/di team green
Symptoms: back pain, especially first thing in the morning, completely absorbing fatigue round-the-clock. I feel like I'm hitting the mark here and I have SUCH a long way to go.
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: Growth scan on Monday, 5/18. Interested to see what position these guys are in--I feel like I get kicks 360 degrees at all hours.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: I am such a crabby, emotional disaster right now. I can't seem to get it together and I have SO much to do between now and when these babies get here. Between boards exams, residency applications and research submissions I am completely overwhelmed. DH told me last night that his parents and brother have randomly decided to come visit us in July… I totally lost it and started sobbing on the phone. I need things OFF my plate, not added on. At the same time, we haven't seen his family since Christmas and it's not unreasonable for him to want to spend time with them. I feel like such a crabby baby and it makes me mad at myself and that makes it worse, but life is feeling unreasonably overwhelming at the moment.
Also a quick question: I know i have my glucose tolerance test coming up, and i feel like i remember reading about people saying what you eat in the day or two before can have a big impact on your chances of getting a false positive. I'm not trying to cheat the test or anything--if I have GD i want to treat it appropriately--but I'd like to avoid an unnecessary 3 hour test if it means just making some dietary modifications. Anyone know anything about this? is it just a matter of going low carb for a few days before?
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? Didn't do anything particularly special--I'm boobs deep in studying for boards exams in June, so my focus is pretty single-minded, but DH surprised me with a diaper bag I'd mentioned liking several times that he said was "too feminine" for him to be seen with when doing drop-offs/pick-ups etc. It was so thoughtful and selfless and it made me all smushy. He's been really great lately--definitely the high point in what otherwise feels like a sea of suck.
Symptoms: new pain in my pelvic area, lower belly, & upper thigh when I stand up, get out of bed, get out of the car, etc. I've been reading about it and apparently it's normal, but I didn't have it with DS. Got a support band, and floated in the pool yesterday to help the pressure, but thinking about going to the prenatal chiropractor near me to see if I can get some relief...
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: next U/S on Monday!
Questions/Comments/Concerns: just the pain above.
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? Had dinner at my parents' the night before, and dinner with my in-laws on Mother's Day. And DH spent the whole weekend assembling the dresser for the twins' nursery--the best gift ever!
Weeks/Fruit: Almost 25. They were cantaloupes I guess.
Symptoms: Well, feeling pretty good if I must say. WHICH MEANS IT'S COMING!!!! I'm terrified
AW/Ultrasounds/Upcoming Appointments: GD test today, growth scan next Tuesday
Questions/Comments/Concerns: None today, which is weird for me. Oh, is it possible to feel this good the rest of the way? No? Didn't think so.
QOTW: How did you spend your Mother's Day? I had a terrible Mother's Day, which was weird for us because my husband is normally awesome. But we worked it out and I don't like rehashing our negative things that we work out so here's to next year
nomnom, I got sent for a growth scan after my last visit as well. Baby A was measuring 1.1 lbs and Baby B was measuring 1.3. I had to email my doctor later on because I couldn't STOP worrying after my appointment. The way that she explained it was that for NOW, there is a 10% difference when you look at their weight differences (in grams). It's SOP to then get a level 2 or and have the perinatal doctor take a look JUST as a precautionary measure. She thinks it's a good idea to have them look at their sizes again, just as a precaution. She said she doesn't get concerned until there is a 15% discordance. I will still be worried but that's normal I think
chiwifey, Did you know they put a limit on TUMS for pregnant ladies now? It's true - I saw it on the bottle myself when I didn't believe it. The pregnant lady groan heard around the world Mine is HORRIBLE and I'm taking 20mg Pepcid, up to twice a day. That helps cut down on my TUMS amount.
beachy, Little man had some fluid on his kidneys as well that went away so FX for you!!
Have a great week gals - stay large and in charge!!
@theportsgal no way! What? Why? Maybe I need to put a call in to my OB. Thanks for the info!
Ok I called them... they don't want you to have too much calcium. Apparently all of this is in my new pregnancy packet that I forgot to read...oopsies Off to Target to buy something else that will help. Thanks again for letting me know!

@feegan, I agree. I just seem to recall people saying that they got a false positive from foolishly eaten something UNcharacteristically carb or sugar heavy prior to the test, and then had to return for the 3 hour test. It's incredibly hard for me to take all this time away from my rotations right now, so I'm just trying to avoid any unnecessary appointments. Of course it is what it is, and if I have GD, I want to be treated appropriately.
