Does anyone have any input about which carriers your husband/SO preferred? Our baby will be accompanying my husband to xc and track practice so I want to find something he'll like.
DH loves our ergo!! He used the Moby and ring sling, too, but the ergo was easiest for him!

That said my brother loved the Moby with BOTH his girls and he was the main baby holder For a long time (my SIL never had easy births and didn't recover quickly at all... Like even 9 months later was weak and not well)

We registered for the Ergo 360 and no slings. They just make me so nervous. I don't feel like I'd figure them out before getting totally frustrated. I see the Ergo everywhere. I've been hyper aware of what carriers I see out and about. The Ergo seems to be the winner.

holy crap that poor thing.
I know I remember my first niece was born April 30th and we saw them again at Christmas that year and SIL couldn't carry her From room To room or go on walks with my mom and I, she was so slow and gingerly walked and moved everywhere or stayed in bed a lot. Then my second niece she ended up with retained sac and a D&C and blood transfusion and my mom said in sept she still was staying in her room most of the time (niece born 6/3) Thankfully they are done, she is one of those that "isn't built to birth babies". Luckily my brother would wrap those girls in the Moby and do all the housework and cooking and diapers and everything he could.

I don't know if you want to BF or not but I learned how to Bf in the ergo and never looked back!!

heck yes I do! Was this as an infant or a bigger LO?

This. DH preferred the Ergo 360. More support in his back, he has a stocky athletic build. The Baby Bjorn was kind of narrow fitting on him but he didn't mind it so much in the beginning. I don't think he will use the BB this time around though so I will probably have to get the infant insert for the Ergo.

I was shown in feb? So she was 3 months... You could do it as soon as they can reasonably hold their head up, you could do it and support the head, too. I was shown how to drop her lower (the ergo straps have a lever/clasp where you can lift and kind is quick release loosen the arm straps) and feed in upright position, almost no skin shows at all!! Then when you are done just re tighten the straps. GTG I have a pic of me doing it while walking in June, so she's bigger but gist is the same and she slept on me like that... I'll find it

My DH is going steady with the Ergo but sometimes he cheats and hooks up with the mei tai on the side.
@kendra1992 have you worn the Solly wrap before? I have no experience with wraps being a FTM but liked the look of these. New colors come out early March!
Has anyone used the infantino sash Mei tei? It's sort of on the cheaper side but it looks easy and not to hot. I'm just not sure if I want to try it out or not.
I made a moby like wrap and used it when I was around the house and went for a walk nearby during the first 6-8 weeks (agree with another poster, I would only put it on at home, not when I was out and about). I liked that I could easily put my coat on over it (March baby). But I am pretty sure it will be too hot for summer. I have a Beco Gemini which DH and I still love and use for DD, but again it will likely be too hot for the summer (no infant insert required though). So after this LO arrives I am sure I will look around for some sort of easy summer wrap to use.

To address this- my H liked the mei tai. He would wear Ava comfortably. He did not like the moby.
I used a Moby with both for the first 4/5ish months and then switched to my mei tai. It's my favorite carrier!

Hands down my favorite version of the several carriers I've used.

I am doing the k'tan for early on. There is the regular one and a mesh one (breeze maybe?) for those of you looking for more breathable and lightweight.
Ergo is my goal for now, but they don't have the newer one at Buy Buy Baby which is where we registered. Does anyone really know the difference between the new one and old one?

The baby can face out when being worn in front in the 360 - so 4 positions total. The older version baby only faces in - 3 positions.

The Boba wrap is seriously the same thing as the Moby, just cheaper. I have the Boba wrap and I liked it for the first 2 months but then I moved onto woven wraps for some real support. I have Colimacon et Cie wraps that are just simple cotton but they are pretty awesome and cheaper. I can and do still back carry DS who is 16 months and me being pregnant.
DH likes the Ergo but agrees that the woven wraps are more comfortable for long carries. If I can convince him, I want to get a toddler Tula.
