Working from home today again. Good I planned it because LO had a fever when I got him from daycare just high enough he couldn't have gone today. He was a cranky pants last night but i think he is ok now. I need to take his temp later when he is less sqirmy.

I have to go back to the grocery store again today because I made it all the way there yesterday before I realized I left my WIC packet at home. I went ahead and finished all my non-WIC shopping yesterday, so at least it will be a short trip. Last night was night 2 of DS going 5 hours without a nap in the evening and being a total cranky pants until passing out for the night at 8:30. His usual bedtime isn't until 10. I'm not sure what's going on with that. Hopefully it's a short lived phase.

Not much happening here. DD seems to get sooooo gassy after her MOTN feeding. She flops and twists around waking her self up with gas and then will usually fall back asleep. Crazy girl.

Last night we went to a meeting for next year's football team at my high school. It really hit me last night that I have a son that will be in high school and one that is an infant. Absolutely crazy! My oldest looked like the rest of the high schoolers. As I was holding Brady, it made me sad that Caleb is so big. I miss him being a baby and can't believe he will be out of my house in 4 years.

I'm trying to get motivated to finish packing and head to the beach; however, Brady and DH are still snuggling in the bed. Yeah, we aren't going to get out of here until at least 10. We are sloths.

Back to work today

I pumped 12oz before work this morning. Could have kept going, but the bottles were full. So if I only get 3oz from my 3 sessions at work, I will be good to go I guess. Moo.

I haven't been on in the past couple of days. I have been missing out.

Had a great day with my best friend yesterday. I drove DS and our dog 2 hours to visit her. It was so nice except I noticed that our dog has bleeding in his mouth.

Ugh. I am worried sick about the dog. His breath started to smell last week and now this. Of course the vet has no appointments available and they are saying I can come in and wait in triage. Hard to wait multiple hours with a 4 month old.

DS slept way more than usual this morning. He's going to want to eat every hour to make up for all this sleep. Aaaand he's currently dozing off at the boob again. If he keeps this up, I expect none of his clothes to fit tomorrow.

Also I realized DH isn't ready to move Gabe to his crib yet. H keeps 'forgetting' to set up the video monitor, and last night said moving the audio only monitor from the living room to the nursery was too much of a hassle to do so late. Um, it's literally a 30 second job. Then when we got in bed, he teased me that I wouldn't be able to sleep without checking Gabe's breathing. I see you trying to blame this on me, buddy.

So, a question for you ladies. My mom and I were planning on going to the zoo Monday afternoon and of course DD would be with us. The forecast here in my part of Florida is sunny with a high of 89, most likely humid because it's Florida. She will of course be shaded by her stroller and if it's too bright I could drape a thin blanket over the canopy to block out more sun. There's lots of trees and shade, and there are air conditioned buildings we could take breaks in if necessary.

Question is, would this be too hot for DD? I'm probably overthinking this, I mean, a day outside isn't going to hurt her. She really should be outside more, it just gets SO HOT here.

All I ever do here is post and run. I'm a terrible member.

Since I've been back to work, the routine is nice(I'm not one of those people who thrive in chaos) but I'm missing my littles more every day. Pumping at work is going much more smoothly, and it's kind of nice to think that I'm providing for her even if she's not with me.

Husband has been doing better. His appointment is in 3 weeks, with a new doctor. I'm hoping for a structured game plan. Just the fact that he's been interacting more with me and DD has been a huge encouragement to me.

DD's little bottom is healing well, and since she's been going to my grandma's, she's magically been sleeping better at night as well. I started calling her the baby whisperer. I'm only up 2-3 times a night, rather than every hour.

I'll try to check back in later today.

mommadozer nope, they don't. I tried telling them that I have a baby and it's hard just to sit. Our dog loves food and he knows he gets treats at the vet. So, he is all ramped up in the waiting room. She tried telling me that I walk around outside and wait but, it's raining and thunderstorms today. I was talking to someone on the nurse line. She said to get him in either today or tomorrow.

DH's friend recommended his vet to us. Hoping that I can get in to see them instead. They are more of a mom and pop vet compared to the one we normally go to.

dacora, how are you feeling? To me it sounds doable because she'll be semi used to hot weather by now, as long as you can keep the pram shaded and don't have to hop in and out of air con too much. But I'm not an expert, our weather is awful here. Maybe take her out of the stroller every once in a while to make sure her back isn't too sweaty. Air out your child, hehehe

lilyelayne, isn't it funny how they'll blame anything but not admit that they're the ones who aren't ready? It's cute!

badw0lf, how was the coffee? mmmm! Well they say breast is best eh? My best friend got a new boyfriend, and the 1st time meeting me he accidentally tasted my breastmilk. It's a long story...

badw0lf Ha, that's funny! The other night I was making tomato soup and realized I forgot to get heavy cream. I stared at a bottle of expressed milk and seriously considered using it.

@holachica One time when I was done pumping I had a few drops on my hand and shrugged and licked it off. It's sweet. DH did the same thing once when he was making a bottle.

WittyLittle I'm feeling much better! I was given a prescription for traneximic acid which is specifically meant for heavy menstruation, and it's doing its job. I'm just hoping that this period stops soon, it's already been a few days since it started. I'm just hoping that my periods go back to normal over the next couple months as my body adjusts to the IUD.

DH keeps insisting I should take her outside more, but I don't even really like going outside much myself in this heat. I will go outside and become a sweaty mess to go to the zoo though.

dacora, I'd take LO out in that, just maybe plan the route for regular AC stops if it's bad instead of just wandering.

lilyelayne, We haven't moved G into his own room yet and I do think it's totally DH. He's talking about switching the pack and plays (2 different sizes) to have the larger one in our room for him instead of moving him. But I also think that DH wants to put off setting up a bedtime routine because he's still fighting me on that one.

G got to have a little dance party at the gym this morning and was super smiley and giggly for everyone. He's certainly a lot happier after his swim lesson yesterday. I think he just got to expend a whole bunch of energy and he's wanted to be more active.

dacora I love the zoo & would go, but keep in mind it might be a shorter trip than usual. Just watch for how much she's sweating - our stroller harness won't fit DS yet so if he's in the stroller he's got to be in the car seat & there's nooooo air flow in that thing. I'd bring an umbrella and plan to carry him for periods of time so his back could air out. But that may be over thinking it. Also be careful with sweat drenched clothes & air conditioning. You don't want her to catch a chill. Maybe bring a few extra changes of clothes? For if you decide to sit down inside & eat lunch or something?

pitdigger I can't wait to get my LO in the pool! Odd that your H doesn't want a bedtime routine. Is it because he doesn't want LO going to bed earlier & missing out on daddy time?

lilyelayne Those are all very good points. I'd have to keep DD in her carseat as well, and she does get hot in it. I know between my mom and I we can pass her back and forth so she isn't in the carseat the entire time. I'll definitely pack some spare onesies just in case.

lilyelayne, The daddy-time might definitely be part of it since even living closer to town, he's not coming home until 7ish. G puts himself down totally for the night between 9:30 and 10 and has generally been sleeping through the night for the most part. The pool is superfun at the moment.

It's a really long story :/ My BFFs fiancee died last September. She was very depressed and then one day she randomly met this guy, they started dating, and really quickly started saying that they were in love and he was moving in. They live about 5 hours away and I hadn't met him yet, so they decided to come over. Her boyfriend got so nervous about getting my approval that he tried everything to show how manly he is, and what a great father he would be, etc. So he offered to feed DS his bottle. Like a pro, he tested the temperature on his wrist, but, not knowing that I was exclusively pumping, he assumed the bottle we were giving was formula... and he licked it off. Apparently it was quite sweet.

This story just had my heart broken today. They put out an amber alert and then found them. How much pain did that mama have to be in to do that?
