GTKY- What's your idea of a perfect Friday night?

Hooray that Friday is finally here!

My husband and I have no plans at all this weekend, and after a busy few months we are SO excited about this. We were deciding what we wanted to do tonight, and we will be doing our idea of a "perfect" Friday night.

-Stop for a happy hour drink on the way home
-Stop at grocery, get some nice French bread, cheese, and meat
-Buy some beer and champagne
-Go home, change into comfy clothes
-Have drinks, eat too much bread, catch up on DVR
-Play some drinking games together, like drinking Jeopardy


Is it 5:00 yet so we can get this show on the road?!

So tell me, GKU- what's your perfect Friday night?

Tonight? I'd be happy to just cuddle on the couch and binge watch Netflix while eating terrible junk food and drinking beer.

Lots of booze, Skyrim, husband on other computer. No clothes. Frequent Skyrim "breaks" for Pizza and.....other >.>

Tonight beer, junk food, and comfy clothes sounds perfect. BUT DH wants to see Pitch Perfect 2 so I guess I will dress up for dinner and a movie. As long as I get alcohol at some point, I will be fine. It's been a hell week again this week.

We do this every friday:

Drive to the movie store with the dogs, we take turns in the videostore while the other takes the dogs into our local petstore. Rent 2 movies, pick up friday night treats for pups. Go home and exercise for 30 mins, shower, call for take out and sit and watch movies until bed. Beer is optional.
Our friday nights are sacred. I get really mad when people call during them since all my family friends know this is our time. No matter what kind of day/week we've had, if we're happy or fighting, we sit and watch movies together

I'd like for my husband to be around, I'd like my dinner to involve meat or sushi, I'd like a nice bottle of wine and I'd like to get laid a couple times. And then I'd like to get a solid 8 hours of sleep.

lol theres are a few still in our area I dont know how they're making money honestly, but we rent two every week!

My ideal Friday night involves dipping out of work early (just 'cause it's fun), taking commuter ferry home, DH picks me up, we go grocery shopping for meats, cheese, fruit, bread, and something to grill. Stop at liquor store for wine and/or beer and/or liquor (I love when DH whips up a special cocktail) and then home, have a quickie, then go sit on the deck while dogs play, eat cheese, meat platter, DH cooks up something delish, we drink and eat off disposable plates, no cleanup. Then either sip wine and chat around firepit (sometimes we listen to the radio like we're 80 yo and I love it) or head inside to watch a movie and cuddle on the couch with our two 4 legged kids laying somewhere, likely on top of us. We fall asleep on couch in minutes and never watch movie. Bliss.

So tell me, GKU- what's your perfect Friday night?

Happy Hour/dinner around 6:30pm, home around 8pm, lots of laughs, sex, and then TV until we fall asleep on the couch.

Lately my idea of a perfect Friday night is dinner out anywhere and coming home to catch up on DVR together. Life has been chaotic since February (DH's brother died unexpectedly so we have spent A LOT of time over at IL's) and I realize how much I have been missing that downtime with DH. Our weeks are so busy, and unfortunately lately so have the weekends.

My absolute favorite is drank & chill hanging out with one of our favorite couples we are friends with. There are probably 4 or 5 that are always fun. Maybe Cards against Humanity. Maybe a fire pit. All good options.

I'd love to just relax and cuddle on the couch watching Shark Tank, Gotham, Forever, or a movie. Maybe play some Monopoly or Scrabble. We haven't watched something together or played a game together in what seems like ages. Sometimes we have a double date of watching something with Dh's cousin and his fiancee.

cup of coffee (I don't drink alcohol)
take out or delivery
veg on couch watching some movie or show we aren't caught up in/

I could go either way on a Friday. I love going out for dinner and drinks and then heading home early. Or if we are tired, I could totally order out and watch the Netflix with MH all night. Tonight...I need all the drinks.

*6:15 yoga class
*7:30 ferry home
*Meet MH and walk 1 pier over to where the food and bar trucks are, get a little silly and have Luke's Lobster Rolls (without the roll for me) chill on the pier for about an hour
*9:00 walk home, sex, shower, sex, and either pass out or watch last night's scandal

It's a tough call about yoga solo though... I love when he comes with me, but also love seeing him at end of day in his suit

The best Friday's include ordering food to go and one of us putting the kids to bed while the other runs to pick up the food. Then watching a movie or one of our shows while we eat, and then playing video games together all night. Now that the weather is warmer we might do more grilling out and hanging around the fire pit.

My ideal Friday night is what a lot of you have described - drinks/dinner/movie out with H or just staying home cooking and watching Mad Men together or something.

But I also looooove a good cocktail/dinner party, either hosting it or going to someone else's. Most of my friends (including me) are still childless, so they want to go out to the bars, but that's slowly changing, and I'm kind of excited for the phase of life where you go over to each other's houses for dinner & games with the kids or let the kids play and watch a movie in the other room while the adults drink wine at the table.

DH wants to try a restaurant near our new place. I'm feeling a little grumpy today, but I think with a couple minutes of downtime I can rally.

We always make a quick dinner or grab something and then try to run all of our weekend errands so we can try to not leave the house the rest of the weekend. Usually we are back home by 8 and spent the rest of the night catching up on the DVR.
