LO has stated to bite when she gets mad. So far it's only me so I'm not worried about daycare.....yet. How do I stop this? I don't want her to start biting other people or kids!
I'd actually ask daycare what they do. A has been in classes with biters, and it doesn't usually last too long, so they must have some strategy.
If it helps, I think it's sort of a phase. A will hit and kick us when she gets very excited and silly (and probably overtired). I don't even think she means to hurt--she just flails.
Unfortunately DD2 has been biting for like a year When she was in daycare, they used distraction because they said it was age appropriate but it still sucked every time I showed up and was told she had bitten (like 6 times), but she was also bitten multiple times, so I guess it's just normal. They said beyond the age 2.5 that they would start taking more of a disciplinary approach, like time outs, etc.
She's been biting us, and her sister at home too unfortunately, though it's gotten a lot better the past few months. We tell her no very sternly and she goes in time out. When she comes out, she has to say she is sorry to whoever she bit (and she does).
