When you have IBS and are having an awful flare, by say the third day of spending hours in the washroom you start to want something a little nicer than toilet paper. Just sayin'. I've embraced the wipes.

Miss Killjoy I love the sass you bring to the milk discussion! *trigger warning* I will now elaborate on why I hate dairy: know how we feel about our liquid gold? It's so precious and we want our babies to have it? Well you're drinking another mothers liquid gold. Sure they aren't cognitively capable of knowing the significance of their milk- but they do know that they have given birth and their little calf baby is dragged away from them to become veal or also get bred and abused for milk. To reiterate: they give birth and their baby is taken away from them. That was when I gave up milk. As a woman I couldn't support an animal being bred and immediately separated from her offspring. I can't imagine how terrified the poor mother cow is. Also I know many people won't eat veal but they do drink milk- 90% of the time if you drink milk, you're supporting the production of veal. End dairy rant.
TL:DR dairy cows live a rough life man, and I can't roll with it

Miss Killjoy bags of milk? Canada is weird. I've seen online how you have bags of milk. No one batted an eye when you said you wanted to buy the pre made chocolate milk in bags. It's just such an odd concept for us who have never seen bagged milk.

And it seems so strange to me that human breastmilk is seen as gross (like ew keep your bodily fluids away from me) but people are not only fine touching cow (breast)milk but consuming it by the gallon. The thought alone grosses me out, then add in the ethical question and it's a done deal in my mind.
I have been at a dairy for work, and the calves are weaned after a set amount of time, not immediately. Some are used for replacement cows at the dairy, and I'm sure many go to meat.
I grew up around a lot of agriculture (not as much as DH, who grew up on a farm), so I'm very protective of it.
I totally understand if you don't support the calves being removed from their mothers so we can get the milk though.
Also, since we were talking about almond milk, I learned while working at an almond orchard in CA that the farmers call harvested almonds "amonds" because when they hit the ground, it knocks the L out of them. Har, har.

Re: using wipes or whatever. MH bought a bidet that attaches to the toilet seat. At first I was a little weary, but it's actually freakin awesome. You just spray it all off and then dab when you're done. I think he found it on amazon.

I was totally going to ask you how it was... I'm a freaking creep. Sorry.

Haha not creepy. It took a few times to get used to it but I give it a thumbs up now. It's like a mini shower (minus the soap) every time I have a number 2. I see why they're common in other countries.
calvinfoster I can attest to the fact that if that applicant had really been earning 2 degrees online there would be no way she could work full time. I did the last 2 years of my bachelor's in Finance online during the semester and finals were taken at the University. And a real, fully accredited, non-profit university with dorms and sports teams and everything. They just have programs where if you meet certain eligibility you can take online classes. You basically have to have the ability to teach yourself from reading, homework and discussion. I had absolutely no time for anything but school. I would get up before work and do homework, on my lunch break and then for 4 hours every night.
I agree, calvinfoster, but more so in certain fields. It drives me absolutely crazy that one can earn an MA in mental health counseling through a distance learning program. Having earned one from the top university in my state, I give serious side eye to those who have "the same level of education" through one of these institutions. It has been my experience that these programs in particular (at least around here) are woefully lacking, almost to the point of being unethical.
Lol you mean like how my SIL went for an online counseling degree while I was enrolled in a university psych doctoral program? Yeah I had no beef with that. *sarcasm*
I don't like the crust of foods. Not on brownies, cookies, pizzas, ect. I only like the center of baked goods. My DH is the opposite so it works! We don't have to fight for corner pieces when I bake. Lol
I LOOOOOVE brownie crust. I'll happily take your brownie crusts.
Eta, my UO is aparently that I am all about homeschooling. I was home schooled through 4th grade and my mom did a great job. We did a lot of field trips with the home school group and I was in softball so I got plenty of contact with people outside my family.
That said, my brother was home schooled through 7th grade, and he never really learned how to properly interact with others. I think that part of the issue is just his personality, but part is the length of his homeschooling (and that there weren't many kids his age in the group, they were all younger). Also, my friend started public school same year as me and we went to the same school that year. But we went to different schools after that. She did ok ish through Jr. High but her first day of High School she came home crying because she couldn't handle it and she went back to homeschooling for High school.
So, I guess I love it for the early years like I had it, but only if the kids get ample time interacting with other people.
