I am quite tired, and a little hungover. My drinking party of one turned into a party for two when H came home early Enough to continue.
Liam woke up earrrllllyyyy this morning too. Like he knew! And my first client no showed so my first 45 min of work has been folding towels and stocking our color solutions. Grr.
The weather is a little gross for the next couple of weeks so no crazy outdoor adventures. My cousin's baby's christening is tomorrow and everyone is pointing the finger at us asking when liam is getting baptized. We have no intentions on baptizing him but I feel like we may give in just to shut. Them. Up.
But I really don't want to, hoping we win this battle.
Ugh, client number 2 is so far very late! What the eff you guys. What the eff. Nothing is more frustrating! I only work Thursday evenings and Saturdays I have a LOT of clients trying to get an appt with me. Don't be disrespectful to your hairstylist, please.
We don't get paid unless someone is in our chair. Call and cancel if you can't make it.
jjh1119 I understand the pressure, but it's not really up to your extended family if you baptize your child. That's up to you and your H! GL with your decision. And I hope the rest of your clients show up!
Today I'm going with my mom and LO to my cousin's dance recital. I'm really excited because I love dance and miss it since becoming an adult. Hopefully LO does well in there! DH is working ALL day today. Like 7:30am-11pm. Craziness. Good thing he has tomorrow off!
jjh1119 :whispering: we're not baptizing either, but luckily no one is expecting us to
It's gross weather here so we're home bound. In theory I'm going to finish LO's room now that renovations are done. We've got to get her rug down and the art hung. What I'm most likely actually going to do is play and nap when LO naps.
I also reallllly need to do a clothing purge for both of us. I feel like every weekend I'm sorting out clothes LO is growing out of! She's definitely hitting a growth spurt - she was 17.1 lbs at her 6 month well check! My little lady is getting to be a little fatty and IT IS GREAT.
jjh1119 we aren't baptizing either but no one has asked is yet although it is expected in my H's family he is firmly against doing it and I'm ambivalent.
My head is going to be the death of me seriously I can't move without feeling like I'm going to pass out. My H is on baby duty and not having fun learning what I do every night and day. I made him get up with lo at 2:30 after I nursed him and he just wanted to play. He was up for an hour and a half before H brought him back saying I have no idea what to do...so I nursed him back to sleep. Made H get up with him at 7:30 and he kept complaining how tired he was I have no sympathy I normally do all night time wake ups (still 4-6 times per night) and start work no later than 6:30am. He told me I must have super powers so he redeemed himself :-)
He is currently doing housework with lo on his back in the ergo. I knew I kept him around for a reason. I'm laying on the couch trying not to move.
jjh1119 I agree that's it's you and your husbands choice on weather or not to baptize. I highly doubt we will because I'm Christian and DH is Jewish. We're going to let our children decide if/what religion to believe in. And sorry your clients are sucking today. I think is why I haven't had my hair cut in over six months, I want to guarantee I can make the appointment. Glad you and your H had fun last night and I hope you aren't feeling hungover any more. MsNicole06 ikea sounds fun! Don't spend too much there that's happened to me the few times I've gone. nerdalert have fun at the recital! pixie523 I did cloth purging for little one last weekend and I feel like she has no clothes left haha. I ordered s bunch of summer stuff of Carters and it finally showed up two days ago. Yesterday morning I tried to fit the 12 MONTH shorts on DD and they were too small! My little chunker has some serious leg rolls. I'm pretty sure she weighs 22lbs. ? too bad I pre washed the shorts. I have to work today for a little bit and was hoping DH could watch LO. He's still at work. He went in at 7pm and it's 9am now. Guess we're going for a drive at nap time.
ETA: that's supposed to be a smiley with hearts as eyes. Oh well.
spikesmom did I miss something? That sounds miserable and I hope you feel better soon. Headaches are the worse. I'm glad your husband is realizing all that you do. You really do have super powers!

sadie74 DH made us take his car instead of my minivan. By the time you put the stroller in and the car seat there isn't much room left for anything big. Luckily DH forgot I was going to for small.
DH just told me I'm not addicted to DIY projects but rather DHY because he has to carry out all my ideas. I've stained aprox 2 whole doors for 1 coat out of the 15 uppers we have that require 2 coats of stain plus 2 coat of poly. ? at least he knows he will have to keep carrying out my plans.
sadie74 I have a sinus infection that has triggered a migraine :-( I had something like this a couple of years ago and it took two months of antibiotics to get rid of the infection...I'm hoping for a normal sinus infection this time. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon
What a way to start a day jjh1119! Have fun at the recital nerdalert! My H is working all day too. So baby and I had a leisurely morning (woke up at 6:30), went to get coffee, to the farmers market, we're back home for a nap, and then later for an oil change and maybe a pedicure! Way to go on the little fatty pixie523!! You should be a proud mom! I love that your H has a newfound appreciation for what you do spikesmom! I told you you are Wonder Woman!

Last night M didn't go down until 11 because we had friends over and he wanted to play. Crazy kid. Then H slept in the other room since he's stuffy and was going to be snoring. I'm sad to say that I slept fantastic without him!
Hugs, coffee, and sinus meds to everyone who needs them. We're off to the park or library or something... we are both getting bored of each other fast right now.

My aunt makes all the babies in my family christening outfits, so when I got M's in the mail in January, I felt A LOT of pressure. My husband and I don't go to church, and I had no plans to baptize Myles. But it was so sweet of my aunt to make the outfit. So, I put him in it and took pictures and sent them to her. And since then I've just avoided all questions about it.
Re: baptism. We may get around the baptism if we have some sort of some type of ceremony thing? We have to talk to my Hs sensei and see if we can do a welcome to earth ceremony thing. He married us and has a bunch of degrees and other such things. I don't know. I just want to not do anything. I knew once the cousin's baby was going to get his they were going to start asking. I haven't stepped foot inside of a church (minus two funerals) in like 10 years and don't intend to any time soon.

jjh1119 - I agree w/ everyone else on not doing anything that you feel pressure from family to do. Especially if you don't subscribe to that religion. I'm Christian & we don't do baptism's we do baby dedications, which is what we'll do w/ Lo but that's our choice not anyone else's. As for your clients ... That's absolute crap. Your job is serious & should be respected. I always ensure I'm on time for my hair appts. spikesmom - I really hope that zpak kicks in & you get to feeling better soon. Love that your dh realized what an awesome mom you are! sadie74 that happened with us and 2 sleepers I bought for Lo that were 12 months ... Both are too small and I already washed them. My Lo is 19 lbs and 28.5" (long & lean). I can't believe he's totally out of 6 month clothes and lasted in 9 months for maybe a month.
Dh and I walked Lo and the dog down to our local coffee shop this morning. It was a nice 4 mile walk.
Now that Lo is sitting up we set him in his pnp last night while we are dinner. We looked over and he started to pull himself out of it. We flew too him so fast and immediately lowered the bed to the bottom. I can't believe he's getting so big. I'm not ready for him to be standing and pulling himself up. Yikes!!
ninergirl52 can't believe your lo is pulling himself up! spikesmom feel better soon, I've said it before and will say it again....being sick and a mom is unfair! jjh1119 Yay for updos and being able to eat....boo for late and no show clients, not cool! spiraltheory how cute! wildflower810 hope you have a good day zengal sounds like a really nice Saturday MsNicole06 good luck with the rest of your reno, that's stressful! nerdalert love dance recitals! My 5 year old niece does ballet and tap and they all pretty much just stand around watching the teacher. ..too cute! pixie523 I feel you on the clothing purge, they go through stuff so fast. Glad your lo is getting big!
We finally have nice weather today so my H is doing some major yard work...love having the baby as an excuse to not help! I wore her at Lowe's today (using the front pack for the first time) and she loved it! It was pretty cool not to have to lug my huge stroller around
Re: purging LO's outfits - I've pulled them but now they sit on the couch, waiting for me to box them up.
We walked to the grocery store today. H carried LO in the Baby Bjorn while I had the granny grocery cart. Way better than using the stroller which doesn't have the carrying capacity. LO managed to snooze while we shopped.
I'm 72% positive cats and babies are exactly the same. My kid always has to crap in a fresh diaper. Always. He peed through his diaper. Changed it. Playing with him, not even five minutes later, smell the most horrific of smells. Poops everywhere.
Clearly he learned from the cat. The best shits are in a fresh clean litter box.
Many wishes for fast days so you can soon be snuggling lo catlady22! jjh1119 Gotta love the fresh diaper poops. Almost as much as the fresh outta the bath and in a new outfit poops.
catlady22 I hope the rest of the week flies by! I hope you guys can squeeze that Skype session in. Does your H (or whoever is watching LO) send a bunch of pics? I would demand them all day lol
Ugh, zengal freshly cleaned, new outfit poops suck too.

Why is hardware for cabinets so expensive it will be over $100 for the kitchen knobs and pulls. I didn't think I had a large kitchen.
Re packing clothes I keep a plastic tote in DDs closet so as I try to put something on that she's out grown I can put it away right away. She has so many clothes from the grandmas and handme downs that I tend to forget after laundry is done what was close to outgrown.
re baptisms: We are Christian and do baby dedication instead of baptism too. We did it when LO was only 2 months old, and I will definitely not do it that young for the second kid. She was still needing to nurse like all. the. time. and it would be a million times easier with a 5 or 6 month old (or older!)
sadie74 and pixie523 I have a chunky baby too! She's almost 18 pounds and just moved up to 18 month clothes (except pajamas, those are still 12 for some reason). I think she has a long torso and short legs, judging by how her clothes fit.
The recital was awesome! LO slept through the first half and nursed through the second. So I got to enjoy the whole thing. Yay dance! My cousin is 8, so her dances were more fun to watch than the really little ones who have to watch a teacher.
Now I'm putting LO to bed about an hour early because she's ready... We'll see how this night goes. I hope we're not up for the day at 4am!

I need to get on the ball with a baby dedication as well. It's not something I feel is necessary, but I like the symbolism of it and having M prayed over by the pastor and congregation as an infant is something I would cherish.
Solo bedtime tonight... anyone want to guess how long it took?
Post by MsNicole06 on May 30, 2015 20:54:31 GMT -5
So based on the chatting DD did when we put her down tonight I'm pretty sure she's going to have great friends in her stuffed animals some day.
Re Baptism. We did DDs in December because my grandmother was flying in for my cousin's wedding then. I'm catholic and It was important to me to have a baptism. I think they should be done if the parents practice the faith and want it. Hopefully those of you whose family expect it the family will back off on the topic. I like the picture compromise on the outfit.
