This has been a fun Father's Day. William threw up Friday but I was hoping it was just something he ate. Today H woke up with it and now P has it. I'm really hoping I don't get it. I still have to take care of everybody. I don't have time to be sick. So much cleaning to do now. Yuck.

Aubrey's preschool had a Father's Day questionnaire like all the ones the kids did for Mother's Day. The first question was "my dad can run faster than..."

Ugh. I just made the apt to euthanize my dog xanthe on Thursday. I have the sads. I found a huge tumor on her leg yesterday. She has all but stopped getting up on her own and is super wobbly walking. though bright eyed she can't really do anything or enjoy anything anymore and I know she's in pain. And she lost 3 more lbs this month and is skin and bones.

traceyt07, you're a better person than me for even giving him the card. I really hope he apologizes and realizes how much he's missing out on. I'm sorry.

Thanks all. My mom will be here to watch Coco. I don't want to do it too close to her birthday so it's best to do it now and not draw it out. I'm a wreck and having a poop day at work for other reasons. I just need to get to Saturday. I can do this.

starfishy, We had a good run. It's been 16 years and I've thought for the past 2 I've been mentally steeling myself for this day.
Still sucks when you realize everyone around you knows its time, but you don't. I got the talk from the vet on Saturday and had to admit it to myself on Sunday. Nearly my whole adult life I've had her. She's a fixture.
xanthepants I am so incredibly sorry! It's seriously the hardest thing losing a fur baby! I wish I could give you a huge hug right now, just know that she will no longer be in pain and you were the BEST mama to her and gave her an amazing life. With Gibson I also got some black paint and put it on his paw and stamped it on some paper. It's a nice little reminder of him
Feeling like a newb here. Maggie gets a bottle from MH to get put to sleep at night but we'd like to phase it out in the near future (by 11 months at the latest.) Any tips? What did your bedtime routine look like when you stopped bottles? Right now it's bath (some nights), nurse, PJs, bottle. H is going to start reading stories, but is there something else we should throw in? She's a great sleeper right now and I am not looking forward to messing with that.
sarasansh we started giving the bottle a little before bedtime and not in the bedroom (after bath, but downstairs where there is me action). For Paige, she started not wanting it on her own. She wouldn't even like to be held and fed and would walk around with her bottle. It was a natural transition to stop that bottle one day (around 12 months).
mightybee She does, I think? Or is like 90% asleep by the time she's done. I nurse her while H gives Robin a bath and then we switch and he does PJs and bottle while I put Robin down.
We replaced the bedtime bottle with a cup of milk for a while to ease the transition. We sort of phased that out gradually. Mine didn't fall asleep on the bottle though so it was a little easier.

I was going to say ours was when we switched to milk and we still give 1/2 cup at night as a snack (along with a snack snack) along with a show before her bedtime routine to settle down. So we do bath (if bathnight) show/snack, brush teeth/hair pjs, 2 books, potty, lights out with talk time/cuddles (we are still in bed with her 9/10 nights. Ever since she was done rocking it's been this.
