Yesss. The worst is names like Madison, Emerson, Addison ... the proof they are male names is RIGHT IN THE NAME.

I can't stand names that are combinations of two names. i.e. Alexandrew, Jessalyn, Nickayla, Marixandra... all of which are names current coworkers have named their newborns (born within the past 6 months).

A former coworker of mine named her son "Lundyn" because she didn't want to use the exact spelling of the actual city. (eta - This is the same woman who drank a tall sugar-free RockStar energy drink every day before, during, and since her pregnancy.)

I remember my sister 3 years ago trying to name their unborn daughter. I will preface this by saying we are english/french-canadian and her husband has a french last name. My dads family is all british and my moms is all french. we are a very pale people. She wanted to name her daughter Nalini. Now, I have zero issue with names that are a little off the beaten track, Nalini is a pretty Indian name, but its very Indian. she only knew of it because she met an older Indian woman with that name. So her daughter would have been this crazy redhead with Nalini -French last name. It was the weirdest combo I have ever heard of. We all tried to talk sense into her and she finally changed her mind and named her Amelia, which suits her perfectly. they went with Elisabeth for the second which I think is a great sibset.
