Hi ladies, I haven't been around the high risk board lately, but I had my cerclage removal yesterday at 36+1. The doctor cut the knot where it was tied and snipped out that little piece but she left the rest of the string in. She said "oh I'm not going to mess with the rest of it, it will either dissolve or fall out on its own". I'm just sort of feeling uneasy because this wasn't how I thought they did it and I want to make sure I'll be able to dilate with the string in. The OB I saw seemed unsure of what she was doing and I'm just concerned I guess.
I also have a message in with another doc at the practice but they can take a while to call back.

I am pretty sure all of mine was taken out. Is the doctor that took it out the one that placed it? If not, I would definitely check with the doctor that placed it. As long as it is no longer cinching your cervix closed, I would think it would be ok but I am not a doctor so I would definitely seek a second opinion.
