Mint creme oreos are the best. I wish I had some right now. I also wish I had some chocolate ice cream or a milkshake. Today has been a rough day and we are still in shock. And.... DH's dad came over to check on us and talk to DH. DH was in our room and we told his dad he could go upstairs. Needless to say his dad saw our box of condoms sitting out by my side of the bed.
I'm sorry about the rough day!!! Lol at the condoms

DH's dad was over a while ago helping with kitchen remodel stuff and DH had just bought a box of condoms and had not put them away. DH was super embarrassed that his dad saw them but I thought it was hilarious.
It's a new one for me: Cefpodoxime. I asked the pharmacist about alcohol and double checked the drug info to be safe. I'm more just curious how *much* food one should take with the pill in order to increase it's efficacy. I'm supposed to take it every twelve hours, but I'm currently on a bad time schedule (11 and 11...I don't usually eat at either of those times.) I'm trying to slowly move it back to 8 and 8, but until then I'm trying to eat a little snack that doesn't make me feel sick right before I go to bed.
Good for you for asking your pharmacist And I haven't actually heard of that one... so got me there. lol.
Eating isn't usually tied to efficacy, it is more an effort to prevent an upset stomach/damage to stomach lining d/t increased acid production and whatever in in the pill itself.
Ah! I see. I think this is a fairly new drug, and most of the literature I could find on it was in reference to its use for dogs.
To be truthful, I'm quite uncomfortable with the drug, but my infection was so progressed that I didn't really have time to fully research it. I just needed to get started on *something* asap. Now, having done a bit more research (and having had a mild negative reaction to it), I'm pretty sure I'll not take this one again. Not a fan.
I don't understand how someone can be told they are a great teacher, get great reviews, be told they made great improvements with the class, and was told recently they should be getting a raise doesn't get asked to come back next year. This happened to DH. I posted in randoms, so sorry for the repeat if you've seen it already. I'm just so floored.

So sorry for your rough day.
Also sorry FIL saw your condoms. If it makes you feel better, my mom babysat our kids a couple months ago while we went on a trip. She was looking for something in my bedside table and found our toys. She didn't say she found them, but she told me what she was looking for and where she looked, so I *know* that she had to have seen them. So, um, that wasn't awkward or anything.

Ugh, what kind of a reaction? If you can I would pop a benedryl with it in the future or at least keep it on hand. Have you had any issues with drug allergies before?
Sorry for the shitty news, penguin129. I really hope something better comes along for both of you.
Thanks! At least we get his summer pay. Which is really his pay from the rest of the school year they put in a savings account type thing so he would get paid this summer.

A very similar thing happened to my husband a few years back. We were totally shocked. It did take a while to get over the bitterness of there not being a real reason.

Was he able to find something quickly? We are pretty sure he was let go because he was the last one hired. Everything is speculation though.
penguin129 I was just reading randoms and I read what happened today... that sucks so badly. Especially after the great reviews!! I hope you two are able to find something so you can enjoy your summer break stress free.

That is awful! Ugh I hate that for both of you. You would think if they knew this in advance they could have given him the heads up so he could have started job searching ASAP. I'm so sorry!

I got a small cluster of hives after they gave me the first dose via IV in the ER. They went away with Benadryl, and I haven't had any further reactions with my two doses since then. I have a severe allergy (anaphylaxis) to Dilaudid, but no other allergies of any kind.
I just realized this is the first time I have slept in our new house without H here. It's just me & Zeus Antonio.
Are you feeling weird?
When DH and I first moved into the new house I was in a transition on the job front and DH was working thirds all week and it was so weird, I was lonesome.

I actually said something "at least you dad knows were not trying to have a baby when you just lost your job" out loud while his dad was still in our room. Hopefully DH will find something and we'll still be on track to TFAS come September. FX.

Siimilar scenario for me. We moved 3 hours from home. H worked second shift and I knew no one in the area. So i'd get home from work at 5:30 and wait up for him to get home at midnight.

So, just to clarify, he is not a teacher.
He had a little bit of a rough time with it. Really hit his ego hard, I think. But, we had to focus on moving forward. He found a new job about 4 months later. Nailed it. He loves it, too. It is so much better than what he was doing before. I remember wondering how anything could get fixed, and now I look back wishing I could tell myself at the time that everything was about to get much, much better. Keep your chin up.

He's off podcasting like a dork-a-saurous Rex. It was just a little weird to realize that I haven't slept here with out him yet.
Gothca ♪♫choppinbroccoli♫♪. DH was working an hour away from home. I had been asking him to please apply where we live for a while because of all the benefits of being closer to home. He told me he loved his school so much and wanted to teach there forever. I let it go and now this happened. Well... He applied to schools here. Silver lining??

That's a positive thing. Having that income for the summer will definitely help. We've been in a similar spot before. We had to delay TTCing for more than a year because MH lost his job (the one we relocated 3 hours away for). FX that he finds something great for the start of the school year.
