So much to do to get ready for G's party this weekend. Even via evite half the invited guests have not rsvp'd. Ticks me off because that's a swing of 17 people and DH's friends are big on not rsvping and then showing up anyway.
If people dont rsvp i hunt them down after the rsvp date.
thelorax. Thanks!! I have to do better keeping up. I miss you ladies. @musicsilver. Yeah I'm tony seeing it. I'm on mobile does that make a difference. Show I go to desktop version? Yup my N00b status is well deserved
violet Raleigh is really nice. My Husband's aunt lives there and so does one of my best friends. You would have a great quality of life. More affordable housing, better cost of living, great schools, and Raleigh is big enough to to where there's a lot to do. You've got tons of colleges in the area and the research triangle so it's a very highly educated area. I could definitely live there.
So this morning Lo slept waaaaaay in until 8 am!!!! (no nap in the car yesterday and a really, really busy weekend with cousins exhausted him I guess). I go in when I hear some talking to himself and he's on his knees turning red pushing. He says, "mama, go out! shut the door and count to 50!" (G is clearly rubbing off on him). I come back in about a minute and he yells "shut the door! count to 40!"
I feel like if you can estimate the time you need to poop and verbalize it clearly to your audience you can poop on the potty kid.
Also, happy Monday!!! I'm going to *try* and keep up this week.

Coming home from vacation is already overwhelming; but coming from a spotlessly clean house to your messy dirty one is just the worst.
I am so, so sorry That is such a crappy feeling. I hate coming home from vacay anyway and fortunately this time I knew the heavenly cleaning fairies where coming when I was gone so it was tolerable to just come home for unpacking and 14 loads of laundry.
Most of the seniors are finished all their exams and stuff, so I miraculously got a decent parking space today. Hrmf. They aren't supposed to park in the faculty lot at all, but it isn't well enforced.

Now that he can say just about anything, I am finding that Lo is one of the funniest babies I have ever encountered. He has this joy and mischief that G never had. It is pretty awesome, even if it's poop talk.
violet - more Raleigh love. My brother and SIL lived there while she was in grad school at NC State. We visited them a ton - plenty to do and the cost of living is great.
NY daycare prices were one of the reasons i decided to stay home. Between the cost of daycare and commuting etc it just really wasnt worth working for me. Its just crazy how much they charge over here.
violet that is part of the reason my younger sister is thinking she is one and done or waiting a heck of a lot longer to have her second. BUT she did say that hiring a nanny would be comparable to the super nice day care they are sending their daughter to now. Would a nanny be any better? But in truth I would move to Raleigh. I have said before to H that if it wasn't for family there is no way I would live in the HCOL Northeast. I'd be in the SC,NC,VA area (the more up and coming liberal areas) or out west in the mountains near a lake.
violet. The idea of $900/week makes me physically ill. Also, it's not like you can't move back once the kids are in school, if that's what you want.
Seriously! I couldn't imagine living in a place like that. I feel like you'd never get ahead financially. We pay less than that for a whole month! Raleigh has a low cost of living compared to Long Island but I thankfully live in a city that's even better
violet I can relate. This city is not cheap, but I'd never want to move away from family. For us it helps financially because they watch DD when DC is closed, or she's sick, and we've never paid for a babysitter. Is it the type of thing you could test out for a year and see how you like it?

This story just made my morning! I am dying over here!
We had a fun busy weekend. DD's party is next Sunday. Right now forcast says 22C and sunny, I'm praying it stays that way since we are planning on having the party in our backyard and can't really fit all the people in our house.

The American in me can't help but shudder when I see 22 degrees. I just.can't.compute- even after living in a country with the system for 2 years!! But I hear you on this as G being a February baby sent me packing to alternative locations by his 3rd B-day, and we have a big house.

violet I'm about 2 hours from Raleigh. It really is a great place to live. If you need any advice on the area, let me know! I spent a lot of time in that area 20 years ago though, so maybe pitchslap knows more current info.

So.much.laundry.
I definitely get it. DH makes fun of me running around frantically cleaning the house before we leave to go anywhere. He doesn't understand how terrible this feeling is!
So I need to put this here because I feel like I need a medal for not losing my shit on my son every morning. Anyone working mom knows that mornings are a challenge. I do drop off on my work days and it's ALWAYS a struggle to get everyone out the door on time. 4 year olds and 2 year olds are challenging, but add the whole "one arm in a cast" factor and dressing is a new nightmare. With G's counting, he is also obsessed with time and clocks. So now every morning, he knows that we try and leave by 7:30. From the minute he wakes up, he starts a count down. He says, "mom, the time is approaching 7:08. We have 23 minutes until we need to leave." (now I need to acknowledge I heard this by saying "yes Graham" or he repeats until I answer). Then Arlo says "23 minutes!" Then 30 seconds later, "mom, the time is approaching 7:09. We have 22 minutes until we need to leave." Me: "Yes graham" Arlo: "22 minutes!" Over. and Over. and Over. Until I buckle them in their seats and the key turns on the clock in the car. Then the whole drive to school.
I have taken to laughing about it, but it's kind of like a maniac losing her mind. You know when Kristen Wiig says, "10 seconds MacGruber!?!" well that's how I pack lunches and pour granola every single morning. My sisters witnessed it this weekend and patted my head and handed me wine at like 8 am.
I'm going to try & keep up this week!! I miss you ladies! Thanks for checking in on me thelorax! Things are okay! I had C sleeping through the night but since our trip last week she's back to several wake ups. A's potty training was put on hold too thanks to travel. Backtracking with them both sucks but I don't want to never go anywhere either! A's party is this weekend! Zoo themed
I'm also teaching a few preschool classes every week this summer! They are mostly outside & so good for my mood!
