I have another one. Has anyone used the First Response Fertility Test? What is your opinion on it? I had never heard of it until last week and thought about getting it for this cycle but I am currently on CD 3 and you need to test with FMU on CD 3. But I wonder how accurate it really is. And if I use it and don't get a favorable result, will that stress me out?
Never used it but read something the other day about non blood tests that said it wasn't the most reliable. ...maybe because it doesn't measure everything? Is it fsh only so it doesn't take estradiol into account? I can't remember, I am going to have to go hunt. I only remember seeing it because I was surprised they existed.

It is my understanding that it only tests ovarian reserve so it only gives you a fraction of the picture. I'd just stick to actively trying for six months and then head to the doc for comprehensive testing.

EmsMama15 I had no idea that lube can kill sperm. Good to know.
Heres a weird one. Has anyone ever heard of a prolapsed uterus and cervix causing fertility issues? I have looked this up and did not find any research on it.
********Warning grown living child and oops pregnancy mentioned******
bunny, wirt2cute, The OB I had before my son (now 15) was born said my uterus was tilted... and I think he said prolapsed but I just remember the explanation as tilted back. But he said don't let anyone tell you that means you'll have trouble getting pregnant again (I had a daughter already). He was right... my son was a one time "oops". It's still that way... but my problem now was the super long cycle and getting the hormones rebalanced. The RE didn't mention anything about the uterus and he did an U/S so I would have thought he would if it was a problem. Maybe there are degrees of prolapse? I dunno...
For those of you who have taken Femara or Clomid, what were the side effects? Did you necessarily have any negative effects?
How does Letrozole differ from Femara and Clomid?
I took Letrozole and always thought it was the generic form of Femara. I don't recall having any side effects but I think I took it at night.
ETA I believe Clomid is specifically designed for ovulation induction. Femara/Letrozole are normally used for other conditons but more and more doctors are prescribing it for ovulation induction.

URMySunshine77 I took letrozole too and the only side effect I had was horrible headaches. So I tried to take them at night and woke up throughout the night because of the aching. So this month I took them in the morning while eating breakfast. That actual helped keep the headache at bay. I guess taking them with food, at least for me made it better.

Letrozole is the generic form of Femara. Femara is actually a breast cancer drug but they've found it works for ovarian stimulation. I took Clomid to get pregnant with my daughter - headaches, rage, ovarian discomfort, super thin lining. I took a few rounds of Femara this time around and really only had a headache, but I'm finding all fertility meds seem to give me a headache.
URMySunshine77 I took both Femara and Clomid both made me sensitive/emotional and a little irrational ragey (again over-sensitive I think) With Femara I became a little crampier, with both however I only ended up with one dominant follicle each time. I would also say my emotional side effects seemed stronger w/Femara but it could very well have been the iui stress and the fact we had been trying that much longer.
My RE prefers Femara and said it has less side effects. For me they were about the same.

For those using Pre-seed, do you use it every time you DTD or just during your FW and use regular lube all the other times? That stuff is expensive so I would like to make it last in case it takes awhile to GKU.

How did everyone choose their PNV? My prescription coverage is amazing (only health insurance part that is so) so I take the CitraNatal Assure. I don't tolerate soy well, so that knocked out a pretty large number of brands for me, but researching opinions on this was tough!!! Thank you and happy Friday!

PepperPottsJ - I looked for one that was small and not a horse pill. I ended up with the Rainbow Light Petite Prenatals. You have to take 3 for a serving, but you can spread them out or take them all at once and they are easy on my stomach.

My understanding is that they measure FSH "accurately enough," although it's all they measure. Still, the threshold they identify as a problem is high--20 or 25? (It was years ago that I was researching this, before I ever had an FSH test.) You'd probably want to start getting aggressive well before it got to those levels. Also, they obviously don't measure E2, and high E2 can mask high FSH. You need to do both tests for the FSH result to be meaningful.

I don't tolerate iron in vitamins well because it makes me incredibly constipated so I was taking gummy PNVs because there is no iron in them. But since I found out I am borderline anemic, I now take Rainbow Light Prenatal One because the iron in them is supposed to be more gentle on your stomach and they also contains probiotics. However, I did just find that Rainbow Light has a formula for 35+ so I may investigate those to see what is different and if they're really better for us AMA ladies.

I've been taking gummies- but interested in the 35+ pnv, let me know what you find out!
I have a question about CM and allergy meds. I know that antihistamines can dry you up everywhere, so I've stopped taking my claritin this month to see if it made a difference. I feel like I am having WAY more Watery/EWCM days than ever. I'm also drinking more water (with sliced ginger-so good), so I guess the hydration is helping.
Basically, I'm wondering what others notice as far as CM? Has anyone else noticed really wierd CM patterns? Should I be concerned? or am I just get *gulp* older....

I read that about allergy meds too. I've also noticed if I don't drink enough water mine dries up a bit.... although yep.... really weird CM this cycle for me too. I'm on 9 days almost straight of EW... Had watery the day I was drinking the night before. I actually used the search function in FF and looked for other charts that had lots of Fertile CM to reassure myself it was ok. (I actually only search pregnant charts because then I know it was a "good" cycle)
vh2014, not gonna lie, I was totally chart stalking you, thinking 'well she's got a lot of CM so I guess its normal' I'm glad I'm not the only one who was like holy EWCM! Now I know I can make it, next is putting all this good stuff to use with DH!

Before I started letrozole, I rarely had EW CM, it was always either creamy or wet so we use preseed. It was like after I had my IUD it all went away or because I am getting older. I noticed last month during my 1st medicated cycle I actually had EW, I even did the stretch between my fingers.

Amen to the bolded part.... when mine was less than cooperative last night I thought, well at least I have all that good EW to keep the little swimmers alive from last night. Now not so patiently waiting for O... and hoping the little spike today will be followed by more upside tomorrow... I was a gradual rise last time so been overlaying chart stalking myself like crazy today. LOL

I had to go with a PNV without iron, because it made me miserable. My RE suggested the gummies and the CVS brand taste like little candies with sugar on them. They are also buy one get one free so #win-win.

I was totally doing that too! If I had never found TCF or read TCOYF I would have been so freaked out wondering if there was something wrong with me, panicking over vag snot. Yesterday I was so proud of stretchy EWCM, I momentarily thought of calling DH to share in my joy. (he would not have been amused lol)
vh2014, I have ALL the things crossed that you temp stays up!
lennonkdc, you are hilarious! (my DH would die... but I get it) And I'll admit to being obsessed too, wirt2cute I *may* have taken the bend in the TP and pulled it apart to see if it stretched far enough. Wanted to be sure it wasn't "extra swimmers". Yeah... if you had told me a few years ago I'd be a TP stalker and excited by gross bodily fluids...
And longing for the days when I thought this was complicated and funny....now I wish it were THAT simple.
