I was really thirsty today suddenly. Is that from the pregnancy? I had been drinking 3-4 tall glasses a day plus some milk and juice and today I had 5 glasses of water plus the milk and juice. I think the glasses are 16 oz but not sure.
If you're feeling thirsty, drink WAY more water. It's normal, but once you feel thirsty, you're already getting dehydrated. Drink up, buttercup.
You know the weird thing? Up until this pregnancy, I never felt thirsty. I rarely drank water, but never felt thirst. I always used to say my thirstometer was broken.
I have a 20 oz tumbler that I keep at work. I usually have 3 of those each day. Then once I get home, my intake is a little more hit or miss, but I try to drink at least 2 full 24 oz out of my camelbak. So I guess that would make my water intake about 108 oz/day. It's pretty easy for me since I have one coffee first thing in the morning and then only water the rest of the day.
It's been really annoying here recently because my city is under a nitrate advisory. The levels are too high so babies under 6 mo. and pregnant/nursing moms can't drink the tap water. The environmental side of me is so disappointed with having to drink bottled water over the last week.

I have a friend who is a nutritionist who says that you should divide your body weight in half, and that's the number of ounces of water you should drink each day. I am usually right around that.
I have heard this as well. I have a 30 oz bottle I fill twice a day so I thought I was meeting my goal based on weight, but it sounds like I need to aim for 3 refills a day. I also have a broken thirst-ometer, and I feel like I live in a constant state of dehydration if I'm not mindful of my water intake.
I know that I'm not drinking enough but I'm working on it. I follow the "divide your weight in half and drink that many ounces" rule during pregnancy and it works for me.

I just downloaded 3 water tracking apps and tested them out to help me keep track. If you search "water tracker" there are a lot of free results. I found "Water Alert" to be the most useful because it has the most options to enter for sizes of drinks. Just and FYI for all y'all working on drinking more water.
