Today I picked the last of the cauliflower, some chard and summer squash. I have a feeling we'll be sick of the squash soon, based on the number of yellow crookneck babies on the plant.

I got some garlic scapes this eve from my Y's garden. I've never heard of them before. I think I'll sauté them with some veggies. Anyone have experience with them?
With all this rain, the only thing I've successfully grown this year is grass.
Our back yard garden flooded and killed everything but the cilantro, and then DH accidentally mowed it down because he couldn't see it for all the grass.
I should get better at pictures but I have had alot of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. My summer garlic is ready and hanging in the greenhouse. 4furrypaws, I like the garlic scapes sautéed with olive oil and a touch of salt and pepper.

NariaDreaming, the last of our lettuce is starting to bolt. I can't say I'm too sad, as I made the rookie mistake of planting way more than we needed.
We picked the first of our ripe blueberries & boysenberries last night. I told DH that he needs to come out in the yard to eat some, because none will make it in the house between DD & I.
So many cucumbers so far! We've gotten a bunch of cherry and grape tomatoes. Our larger tomatoes are still green. I've got everything crossed that we won't end up with blossom rot this year!
The temperature swings have made this a tough growing season - we went from one of the coldest, rainiest Mays on record to very hot days in June. So some things are doing ok, while others have just given up. The peas were just finally starting to take off, but the heat killed them.
Things that seem to be doing well, and we'll probably get to eat in the next week, are the strawberries and some of the tomatoes.
We have good corn sprouts, so I'm hoping for a good fall harvest. Also some melon, pumpkin and sunflowers.
None of my beans sprouted yet. I think I used the old pack, so I may try the newer seed pack. We'll try for peas again in the fall to see if we can sneak a crop in before the frost. Who knows.
I'm so jealous of everyone who has gotten stuff! Between the weird weather, rabbits and the toddler, almost everything has been destroyed.
I started tomatoes from seeds and gave the extras to friends and family. All of theirs have taken off, but mine basically haven't grown since I planted them. They aren't supposed to start producing until the end of July, so hopefully they take off soon.
The only things we have harvested so far have been tomatoes and herbs. I haven't helped with the garden at all this season and DH planted things later than usual so it will be a few weeks before squash, carrots and whatever else he planted are ready.
4furrypaws, I haven't had garlic scapes but I have had onion scapes. I simply grill them in a little olive oil with salt and pepper. They are SO yummy! The younger ones are better, if they get too big they are a bit pithy.
I have tons of basil, parsley, and arugala, and I've harvested a few zucchini, garlic, and shallots. Lost the first 2 tomatoes to blossom end rot. Watermelons growing well, but the lemon cucumbers, peppers, and eggplant are slow. Strawberries never stopped producing (we had a really mild winter) so we get the ones the slugs don't get. Butternut squash plants are looking good too! And the sunflowers are just about ready to open.

Another use for both is pesto. You can google recipes. YUM!!!
