I've been getting a whole lot of "wow, did you want to have so many kids so close together?" Well, yes, we planned on having 2 children close in age but it's not like we knew we would be having twins!

I got were you trying for 3? Um, not exactly. I don't even know how one would "try for 3" short of transferring 3 embryos which most doctors would not do (on someone my age). No. Also, they're identical so it's a totally spontaneous occurrence.
Went Black Friday shopping with my mom. She had one of my girls in her cart, pushing her around. I had the other.
Lady: (Pointing to smaller twin) "Is she 2?" Mom: "No, 3." Lady: "And her?" (pointing to bigger twin) Me: "Also 3. They're twins." Lady: "Oh. So, are they from different families?"
fightersince83 I *love* that! I'll have to use it. I get it all the time when people find out I'll have two sets of twins within a year and a half of each other.
I got asked at Target: "Were you supposed to have twins?"
Apparently, God thought so? Not sure if she meant a) "Are they natural?" b) Were there more and some were lost? (Her question come on the heels of telling me about her daughter's miscarriage because I needed a stranger to tell me about that.) c) If it was a surprise when 2 babies were delivered instead of 1, because ultrasounds are so not a thing.
I asked her what she meant and all she did was repeat the question. Cue me trying to get the hell away from this woman while she continues to force conversation on me...

I get a very similar, "So were you planning on twins?" Ummm... I still have no answer for these people, I just say, "well that's an odd question" and walk away
