Update: RE said everything looks great. We saw the heartbeat, gestational and yolk sacs. I am still flabbergasted, because I am all about expectation management and had convinced myself it was an empty sac. He sees everyone twice before releasing them to the OB, so I'll go back next week. Don't care, moar ultrasounds I say! Due dates changed from 2/11 to 2/12 based on his super fancy equipment's powers.

Heading in, what are you thinking? I was excited but nervous!
*Update Us! Let us know how it went!
Had my appointment with the u/s tech yesterday. All went well! I thought I was 6 w 5 d based on my O date and the nugget measured at 6 w 4 d so I wasn't far off. Strong heartbeat of 136 which made me really happy.
The tech was a bit rushed and all business, so she could have been a little bit nicer... especially when she is wielding the dildo cam...but all in all it went great!
Gonna try and post a pic on mobile.... So I hope it works!

*snip* ETA: also check my RE's title top left-- "baby!"
He is such a nerd. I love it.
Congrats! I saw that "Baby!" title and it made me smile. Yay for good RE's and everything looking great! (I'm glad your expectation management strategy was incorrect, I'm kind of battling with that now too :\)

I'm so sorry you're dealing with that too. Totally all about protecting ourselves I think. After the appointment, my husband goes, "see? You shouldn't stress before every appointment. Stress is bad." And I was like . Dude, after 1.5 years of never seeing a positive pee stick, it's impossible to immediately switch to rainbows and puppies. Sit down, husband.
Met with the midwife and her student today and I really liked them. This appointment was only to decide if we wanted to accept care with them, and I was all like Yes Please. I signed the consent so they can get my blood work and US results from my GP. Next appointment is mid July to do a full history and order integrated testing (neural tube defects and trisomy).

I'm the same way! I keep telling myself that there could be absolutely nothing in there. I'll find out next week!

Update!
Had our midwife appointment. Loved her!! I am so so happy. She gave me a due date that was later then what i figured (i said the 8th she offered the 11th) and then was like i would even let you have the 15th as your due date. And i jumped on that. Give me the latest due date you can so i dont have "over due" pressure. She has all the same philosophy as me when it come to birth. Yay!
She said i could have a dating ultrasound if i want. I chose not to i am really okay with my dates. Plus i am terrified to have an ultrasound because of finding out about mmc last time.
Next appt is in 4 weeks and she said we will listen to the heartbeat!!! I have never heard a hb yet!
One little baby, one little heartbeat! Everything looks great. I measured 6w5d which is darn close to my dating. I was able to see the heartbeat, and she estimated it to be about 150. And this was abdominal u/s!! Very happy today!
I can't seem to get the photo to attach. It keeps saying it's exceeding the attachment space. Humph.
chocolate The board's attachment limit was met like within the first week of coming to proboards. You'll have to upload it to photobucket or tinypic or one of those, and then do the image link thing (the picture icon). (Oh, and great update!)

Gotcha! I'm always on mobile and I just never need to upload a pic! And frankly there's not much to look at in this one

No real exciting updates from my appointment today. Good ultrasound, good visit with the OB. I did walk away with one question though. Hopefully somebody here has some insight?
The nurse had do a 1 hr. glucose tolerance test today because apparently women who use any form of assisted reproduction (we did IVF) are at much higher risk for gestational diabetes. But they didn't warn me beforehand so I didn't fast leading up to it, which I've always had to do for my GTTs. Has anyone ever been tested this early in a pregnancy? And won't the results be skewed by the very carb-y lunch I had before my appointment? None of these things occurred to me while I was talking to the doctor, only when I was driving home and asking myself WTF?

I didn't take it this early, but I did take it at about 13 weeks the first time with DS. I passed that one and failed the next. I'm not sure the impact your lunch would have honestly. Just thought I would give you my experience!

I haven't been tested that early, but I don't think you fast beforehand anyway. The whole point is to be eating normally and have a high sugar intake and to see if your body is managing it appropriately. I'm sure it'll be fine! Even if you failed, they'd make you take it again so you'd be more prepared next time.

You don't have to be fasting before the regular 1 hr. GTT. I've never had to do a 3-hr so I'm not sure about that, but you should be ok for the 1-hr you just did.
I am having a impromptu appt today due to a little brown spotting. I will update this afternoon. I had this with DD so I am not overly worried, but it is not the most comforting thing to wake up to! I am glad they made time for me today.

We got good news and bad news at my appointment this morning. The good news is that Baby A is doing great, measuring on track with a heartbeat of 168. The bad news is that Baby B is now an angel, and stopped growing at 6w5d.

I'm so sorry about Baby B, dreadpiratebuttercup, but glad to hear Baby A is doing well. Take good care of yourself as you process this. I'll be thinking of you.

dreadpiratebuttercup I am so sorry for your loss. ((Hugs)) to you today. My cousin lost one twin around the same time and the emotions are so confusing and conflicting. Be extra nice to yourself today.
