After 8 long weeks of pukey nausea, bad bland food and a total loss of interest in eating, I woke up yesterday (week 12) with an overwhelming desire to EAT ALL THE FOOD. I texted my husband "holy shit, I'm hungry. Like, really, really hungry." To which he replied "date night!" I actually got out of my yoga pants and put makeup on even. We went to our favorite restaurant and I ate a spinach salad, half of a huge plate of Cedar Plank Salmon and roasted root veg, and half of a Creme brulee with fresh berries. No nausea at all! We then went to our favorite international market and filled the cart like a kid in a candy store, holding hands and laughing like idiots. Olives stuffed with Bleu cheese, balls of fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, Italian meats, heirloom tomatoes, fresh mint and basil, every kind of berry they had, big steaks, expensive vinegars, my favorite rainbow Swiss chard, Icelandic yogurt... I could keep going. Sure, the night cost over $300 but it felt so good and our fridge is packed with awesomeness. I'm a personal chef and food is a passion of mine, I can't believe how much I missed it. I am aware that this could be a fleeting thing. FX Is this happening to any of you around the 12 week mark?

I'm with you on this. I've only wanted breakfast foods recently and my appetite diminishes throughout the day. Today my lunch was a towering sandwich with everything in it, and two bowls of cereal. And I can't wait for dinner.
Awesome for you! My appetite has normalized a little bit, but in the first few weeks, I was definitely in "eat all the food" mode. But I was feeling so nauseous and bloated I couldn't really enjoy it.
Your grocery haul sounds amazing! Dinner at your place?

Absolutely! I'll just put all the food out on the table and we can watch Netflix in our pjs while it snows like crazy. Everyone's invited!

Food still doesn't sound appealing even though I haven't had a ton of nausea. My appetite is just blah. Poor DH I can't even find enough interest to make a decent dinner for the family.
As awful as it is for me to say it. My appetite has been up since about 6 weeks. My nausea hasn't really curbed it at all. This is the awful part. I was kind of hoping that if I was nauseated I'd be one of those people who lost a few lbs during 1st tri. Ha, yeah, no such luck. Flame away.

same here. I've been nauseous but can eat everything and anything.

Yup. I had the fun combination of alternating between ravenous hunger and nausea, so I was eating constantly, feeling bad, but never actually vomiting. Result: I've already gained 8 lbs

My problem is that I only feel 'normal' when I'm actively eating something. I feel nauseated before and after, all the time... except then. I didn't feel like that at all with DD. It's a problem.
I've been eating all of the food. Luckily it's often been where I have a day when I eat everything, and then I have one where it's a little more normal. I've already had breakfast twice and am waiting for lunch to be delivered.
I am jealous of your heirloom tomatoes and rainbow chard. Now I kind of want to cook. Until I actually get in the kitchen and everything looks gross so I change my mind.

I was so there until last week, I totally get it. When I had to cook for my clients, I gagged the whole time and had no idea how stuff tasted because I couldn't stomach tasting it. Hopefully it will pass soon!

You give me hope! Hopefully food is appealing to me again next week. I snack throughout the day to help with the nausea, but I'm pretty much force-feeding myself. I cannot wait until the day something sounds, looks, and tastes appealing again! I usually enjoy cooking dinner but it's a chore I've handed over to my husband most nights. It's also battle to think about what I could eat that will most likely not make me sick, sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong.
I hit 12 wks Monday and have had a pretty good week. Since we're neighbors (kinda) what market did you go too. Sounds yummy.
It's called Produce Palace in Warren. It doesn't look like much, the first time I went i was expecting well...produce. I was NOT expecting the bounty of wonderful that I found!
It sounds like I need a personal chef! I can't stand cooking any kind of meat. The smell turns me off of actually eating it. I have been living on smoothies, shakes, and anything I don't cook. Once it's cooked it is fine. Actually cooking it and smelling it in the process makes me gag.
I've been nausea free for 3 days and my appetite just came back today. I feel kinda sick now, but that's because I think I have eaten way more than I should have this afternoon. I ate a huge meal for a late lunch because I was so excited that food sounded good, and then by dinner time I was still so full I couldn't eat anything.

Me exactly. It's like a hungover stomach where I feel like I need to steadily eat something throughout the whole day or I get really nauseated.
