This particular unit didn't have a lactation room- others do, but too far away to do it all. The really amazing thing is that the largest unit in this hospital (employs probably close to 100 nurses & aides this one unit alone) has NO lactation room and everyone on that unit pumps in a bathroom across from their lounge. I have made a stink about this several times as it is totally illegal, and so I use the visitors' lounge and lock the door. Suck it. Equally apalling at my hospital: the L&D/mother-baby unit ALSO has no room for pumping. Insanity.
I am appalled that schools and hospitals seem to be the most unfriendly places for a nursing mom. Yet in my office of like 90% men, no one cared that I pumped.

And some schools (if not most) don't even offer maternity leave. So you have to hope you have a baby during summer vacation or save up sick days over years and years? I don't get it!

At least they're allowed to build up sick leave. Our government took that away from us two years ago so now we are SOL if we need to use more than the ten sick days they give us per year.
At the time of my maternity leave, I had an unlimited sick day policy which meant that it could not be used for maternity leave. In 2015 they changed it to 5 days with no carryover which at least could be used during the short term disability wait period. 5 sick days are not enough for a parent of a nb. My immune system was wrecked from pregnancy so I ended up with a few nasty infections/viruses plus sick baby. Those first couple months back to work were rough.
It just worked out that DS got hand foot and mouth after I was laid off. I guess I would have had to use vacation time.

I started a new job this week. It's great bc my commute decreases a lot and I get to spend more time with my family. However, I hadn't gone clothes shopping since having dd. I tried to go this weekend but ended up feeling horrible about my body. I finally just went to motherhood maternity and searched their clrx rack for clothes that didn't appear to be maternity. It's so hard to balance work, home, baby, and marriage. How do people find time to work out? Sorry this became so long! I'm just not feeling confident at all.

My clothes still don't fit, no where close. I've been loving summer with wearing athletic and sweaty shorts. I'm dreading going back to school in a week or so. I'm hoping wearing ill fitting clothes motivates me to loose some baby weight. Second baby has not been so easy to shed

I feel the same way! I don't want to spend money on "fat clothes" but then I have absolutely nothing to wear and feel worse about myself. I am almost to the point of joining a gym but haven't yet. I used to work out a ton. Body image issues are real and it sucks after babes. Congrats on the new gig, though!
I can relate to the clothes talk. I have been waiting to buy clothes until I lose weight. Nope not happening. So I will start looking. I am nervous. As for exercise I figured taking LO for walks but has not happened yet. There are mommy and me workouts out there. Maybe try searching some you tube videos. It is just something I heard about and not tried

Yesterday I thought I was coming out of survival mode bc I remembered to put deodorant on before work. Then today I forgot to put my bra on. Didn't even notice until I was at work. Luckily my nursing tank has some padding and built in support.

Nursing tanks with a built in bra are my "normal" bras about half the time these days. I don't have any with padding though. Where do you get your nursing tanks?
I got mine at motherhood maternity. They are Jessica Simpson brand. The padding is very light but I hardly ever leak through at night.
Hey all... its been awhile with work being crazy busy ( and blocking tap talk) and no time in the evening. Just wanted to drop in and say hey!!!! I see the password to the private forum has changed but figure I may need to try and get back into posting before asking for the password.
