I do 80 when we are gone, put it down a few degrees if it's too miserable in there once I'm home. We have window units upstairs in the bedrooms since the central air doesn't work great up there, so at night it's probably cooler than that (not thermostat set, so I don't really know what temp it gets to.) I like it warm, I grew up in S. Florida. I'm more ridiculous when it comes to heating (I have a hard time with anything below 68 in the winter.)

We set ours to 76 during the day and 73 at night. We spend a lot of time in the finished basement though which is much cooler - probably closer to 68 down there. My bedroom is on the second floor and is definitely warmer, but not uncomfortable. I just don't sleep under the covers anymore.
We are getting ceiling fans installed in a few weeks.

65 overnight, because our thermostat is inefficient and we are in a 2 story house and I need to be cool to sleep. 75 during the day. That functionally keeps it about 68/78 respectively. In winter, it goes lower so the upstairs doesn't overheat
In the summertime we keep it at 78 during the day and 75 when we sleep. Plus, we strip the beds of the heavy blankets and utilize fans which drops the temp even more without us having to burden out A/C unit or wallet
I think we are at 75 when we aren't home, and around 71 when we are. We actually turn it up a bit at night because we have a window unit in our bedroom that we keep at 60 for sleeping lol. The rest of the house will get pretty warm at night but not unbearable, while our room is like a refrigerator. It's awesome. Also, ceiling fans are always on, at least to move the air around.
In the winter I think it's probably around 68-69 when we are home unless I am just freezing then I'll turn it up a bit to 71, and maybe 65 when we aren't home. However, we still use our window units and ceiling fans in the winter for sleeping because it's just easier to sleep that way, nice and cool.
It's worth noting that we are on the Texas gulf coast where the humidity is always high and 90's are now the norm. We'll have a 100 degree day soon, I'm sure.

Gawd, Chad! I have an important power bill game to play and I do NOT want to lose!
You would love the "smart hours" program our local energy company has. Basically, they jack up the prices between 2-7pm to the point that you would never want to run anything, then they turn the prices down for the other times, including weekends. If you work all day, I'm sure it's fine. But in an older house that isn't sealed as well...even if you get it down to 65 in the morning, it's going to get warm during the day if it's 100+ out, which is common here in the summer.
It would be interesting to see what people set it at in the winter. We do 65-67 day/62 at night in the winter.
We don't let it drop below 68 but that's because our house is old and drafty. We use a wood stove from October to April and it's crucial when the weather hits below zero and the furnace can't keep up. We are in the northeast but in a ski area, so that drops us a couple of zones.

The AC unit in our living room is super old but really powerful. I have no idea what temperature the living room gets to. For our bedroom, since it's been so hot and humid, we lowered it to 67.

This is where I'm at when people say they have their air set at 68 degrees. Since we just have two window air units our bill is super low. Then in the winter we break out the space heaters to keep that bill low. Even then it's like $300. Fucking boilers, man.

I'm a total weenie in Winter (I should say that our winter is not an actual winter) 108 in the summer? Okay, that's fine. 45 in winter...time to bust out the parka and boots.

Am I the only one who gets super confused when people say "turn the A/C up" - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! Do you want me to turn the temp up or make it colder?!??!?! Also, "turn the A/C down" - do you want me to turn the temp down (making it colder) or the fan down (making it warmer)!?!?!?!? WHICH ONE, PEOPLE?!

For posterity: I say "turn the A/C up" when I want it to be colder, and "turn the A/C down" when I want it to be warmer.
It's important that we know this type of stuff about each other.

I am the opposite so we might not be compatible roommates. This is the same as when you tell someone they have something on their face by pointing to the spot on yours. MH always touches the same spot like it's a mirror image but I mean it's on his right cheek. Does this make sense?

I always just refer to the temp because I confuse my own damn self with the AC up/down nonsense. When DH has something in his teeth I tell him R1 or L2 or whatever. He gets the code.

You're wrong. On both of these things.
My husband has a mirroring issue. It made learning karate as a kid weird for him because they would say right but they would go left so he would go left or something. If I have to tell him that something is on his face, I have to point to my left cheek if it's on his right. Over the years, I have just adapted to it.
I don't know how I respond. I never have anything on my face
But when I say I turned the a/c down, I mean I turned the temperature down.

DH and I have different views on this. To make it easier, I just say: "make it colder" or "make it hotter". I think it solves any confusion

Looks like we could never live together or we would always be too hot, too cold, or have food on our face with no way to communicate how to get it off.
I have no idea, DH messes with the thermostat unless I'm just freezing or burning up. But for the most part I think it stays in the lower to mid 70s at night and high 70s during the day.
