8 days PP here and I am DYING to exercise/move more. We've been walking pretty much every day, but I'm wondering if I can incorporate some light yoga into my daily activities? Anyone else have thoughts on this?
So, definitely a snowflake question from me - when do you put butt ointment/diaper rash cream on baby - always, to prevent it, or only when baby has diaper rash, to treat it?
I was given the advice to do a dab of petroleum jelly in every diaper to prevent rash and we did it with DS till he turned 2. Worked like a charm so we are doing it with this LO.
This is exactly what we do and did with DS for a long time. He only had the occasional diaper rash pop up, and it seemed to be more when something else was going on with him, so in those odd cases are the only times we used some diaper rash cream.
I'm also probably in the minority, but I'm an evening showerer. Don't have to worry about the kids at all then as H just is with them. But that came from me working in the auto industry for 8 years prior to becoming a SAHM and coming home from work stinking like oil and gasoline.
My feet are so ridiculously swollen post csection. The nurses and doctors weren't concerned but they're tight and uncomfortable. Has anyone found a secret special remedy that worked for you aside from walking, resting, drinking water, and time? I got compression socks yesterday (which I refused to do the whole time I was pregnant) and they kind of helped. I'm just looking for a little relief!
Mine too! It just seems to be slowly working its way out (and I do mean slowly... today is day 11.) When I left the hospital, my legs were huge- the entire leg! Now, just the feet seems like a huge improvement. I can never seem to get my feet elevated above heart level for more than a couple of minutes (due to having a baby and shit to do, lol) but I know that works best.
jessila, I didn't swell the entire pregnancy, but did when I got home. I'm assuming it was from all of the IV fluids during my 4/5 day induction. Rest, lots or water and even a little walking helped. I think it took about a week for the swelling to go down.
kemdupuis, I am 5 weeks (tomorrow) post partum and I'm dying to exercise, especially with it being summer. I also feel a little off from not being active. I stayed active the entire pregnancy so this is new to me haha. I've been going on daily walks that include inclines. I asked in the hospital, before leaving, if light yoga was ok, and they said yes. However, I haven't gotten around to it. My post partum check up is in a couple of weeks (at 7 weeks pp) and I can't wait to get the all clear to hit the gym again!
