Okay I apologize in advance if this is super long, but I could use some help, I'm totally confused.
Monday: I had some spotting, and something didn't feel right, and I felt compelled to call the doctor. When I was on the phone with her I mentioned that I had moved some heavy furniture on Friday, and they asked me to come right in for blood work and an ultrasound.
Monday afternoon: Got an ultrasound which showed me measuring right around 6 weeks, which is what I thought I would be. The tech detected "heartbeat like activity", but nothing that the monitor could pick up. They could see a fetal pole and a sac. Then I got blood drawn.
Tuesday afternoon: Doctor's office called and said they got my blood work back and my beta levels were at 31,000. Told me that my ultrasound detected a pelvic hemorrhage, and that I should stay on pelvic rest until further notice. They asked me to go back for another ultrasound on July 2nd, where I would hopefully see a heartbeat.
Just now: Doctor's office called back again and said she was now looking at my ultrasound results (which measured at 6 weeks) and my beta levels (31,000) together, and my numbers seemed really high for 6 weeks and that the two were inconsistent. She said those numbers were consistent with multiples (as in, multiple babies...WTAF?!), and she wants me to come back on Monday for another u/s to try and detect a heartbeat and see if they can see another sac or fetal pole, because they can't figure out why my numbers are so high. She said that a second fetal pole could have been hiding under a shadow and they just couldn't see it.
So.....yesterday I was scared to death that I might have no baby, and now she's telling me that I might have two babies, but there are no heartbeats so I might have no babies. Does anyone have any more experience with this who might be able to tell me what in the absolute hell is going on right now?! I'm freaking out!!
***Update***
Beta numbers came back today at 47,000, which I think is good. I told her when I called that I'd done some research, and I didn't think my original numbers necessarily meant multiples, and she said she just needed to "rule out all possibilities". So, FX for a strong, healthy heartbeat on Monday! Until then, I'll just keep sitting here, not lifting anything, and not having any sex, and trying to stay awake.
