I respect my own DH greatly and honor him as a partner in our marriage and as a parent....but there is very little that he can get away with forbidding me to do/eat/say/etc.  We can discuss things and he can present his opinion, concern, request, etc, but ain't no edicts allowed in Mr. & Mrs. Salty's house.

As for cravings? I'm a salty-over-sweets girl (shocked, I'm sure) and I'm eating it all in moderation. Even the occasional spicy tuna roll doesn't bother me. For those stressed about caffeine, it may be helpful to know that a regular 16oz coke only has 48mg of caffeine so you're well on safe ground to have one if you're craving one. I don't understand the no-no-no-absolutely-not-no perspective about anything other than alcohol, and even that's not a hard line for me or my OB. If your worry threshold keeps you from something, I get that and respect it, but if you're just abstaining from a particular food because you think you have to based on some random data point, that doesn't make any sense to me. It's all risk analysis more or less from where I'm sitting)

My apologies.  Not that he "won't let me have", he doesn't want me to have.  He knows it isn't the healthiest food choice out there and he would rather us have a healthier option.  If he caught me eating MickeyD's, he wouldn't do anything.  He might give me a hard time, but that it all.  We do respect each other a ton.  We always discuss things through and make the best decision for us.  We don't forbid each other from eating/doing/saying anything. 

No apologies necessary at all. I can appreciate the value of yielding to your spouse and vice versa for sure on things, and we tend to adhere to the 90/10 or 80/20 (healthy/not-healthy) rule when it comes to eating ourselves. Fitness in general is something we do together for the most part, as well as value, but I just can't see either DH or I ever being able to say "please don't eat any french fries" to each other with a straight face or a leg to stand on in terms of serving as an example. We like our occasional indulgences too much, and throw in pregnancy and shoot....that's like asking me not to breathe!

I've been giving in unless it's on the no no list (for me eggs bene and sushi), I had an Italian grinder last week and then freaked myself out bc I had an upset stomach for a few days after and I was convinced I got listeria lol. Hypochondria and pregnancy do not mix.

I got a spicy chix sandwich and fries from Wendy's today and it was amazing.

Before this pregnancy I hadn't eaten McDonald's in 4 years. I can't tell you how many Quarter pounders I've eaten in the last few months. Luckily my craving has slowed down. I have a hard time telling myself no when pregnant and my husband is no help with reigning me in. The other night I really wanted a blizzard and he ran out at bedtime and got me one, with a side of cheese curds. I ate both. My most difficult thing to avoid is Dr Pepper. I have one a day but i so want it all the time.
