Those of you not on your first pg (I'd love to hear from those on their third or more pg), how are you doing w weight gain?
I've heard it's not uncommon to gain more weight in subsequent pregnancies but damn Gina, I've already put on 20lb and I'm 20.5wk right now! (I gained 35lb total in my 1st pg) My OB had said if I gain about 40lb, that would still be healthy for me. I'm just thinking that I've already gained half that and know the weight really piles on in the 3rd tri. I'm going to talk to her at my appt this week but interested to hear from ppl who've been through this or are right now.
STM here. I'm up about 20lbs and hope to only gain about 10 more. I was hoping to stick to 15lbs but since I gained 60 with my first (although I started 20lbs lighter than I started this time) 30lbs doesn't seem so bad. FX I stop eating all the cake!

STM, and I've gained 18 lbs already by 15 weeks. With DS I also gained about 20 lbs in the 1st tri because I was always nauseated and eating carbs constantly helped that. In general my eating and exercise habits change drastically while KU, and I gain weight easily.
I have no idea what my total gain was or would have been with DS because I went into labor at 33 weeks, but my dr never brought it up so I never worried about it. I started this pregnancy at my normal/healthy weight, so I'm thinking I'll be OK, unless the dr says otherwise this time for some reason.

I gained 55 with #1. Lost all but three pounds by six weeks. Did not nurse.
#2-- lost ten pounds when I had (confirmed) e coli in first tri. Gained 45 pounds from my starting weight. Lost all by nine months, nursing. Was in the gym 5x a week until 31 weeks weeks preg
#3-- I've already gained substantial weight. It's just my thing, I suppose. I don't pig out, I am active.
STM here with DS I gained about 40lbs. I'm on track now to gain less. I had my 28 week appointment last Wednesday and I have gained 8lbs so far. I was overweight to start with so my doctors have no issue with my lack of gain. Also with DS I was a bottomless pit of hunger, not so much with this one I feel full rather quickly. I'm sure chasing a 2yo around is also keeping my weight gain down. All I do know that at all my check ups BP is good and my measurements are on track too so that's fine with me!

TTM here, 20w4d. I gained about 25 with my first two. I forget how the gain was spread out for them, but I think I usually gain more at the end of 1st tri- 2nd tri than in the 3rd. This time I am up roughly 15 pounds. I started out 5 pounds heavier because I had a m/c 2 months before this one, and was still carrying those pounds. I'm hoping to stay at 25-30 pounds, but I also still have pretty big food aversions, so eating healthy is challenging.
STM. With DS I gained over 50lbs (15 during 1st Tri.) This time I started 10lbs up (for my and DSs health b/c I'm breastfeeding) and I've gained about 5lbs in the first 10 weeks. I'm not feeling nearly as crummy this time so I'm trying to keep up with good eating habits and it seems to be paying off.
I'd like to finish at the same weight I was when DS was born, but I don't feel that I have that much control over the situation. I ate pretty healthfully and did lots of walking 2nd and 3rd Tri last time and I still packed on the pounds. We'll see.
1st pregnancy - gained 40 lbs 2nd pregnancy - gained 12 lbs (HG, bad pregnancy overall, this was my loss pregnancy) 3rd pregnancy - gained 30 lbs This pregnancy I have gained 2 lbs so far.
I am exactly at 28lb gain at 29 weeks with DD2 with the biggest gains in the second tri. It's leveling out now, with maybe 2lb gain per week. This seems excessive to me, but my doctor hasn't said a word and I don't look huge except for belly, so I guess it's fine? I was an average build before getting KTFU, for reference. With DD1, I think I gained 35lbs by the time I delivered at 37 weeks.
STM. With my first I gained 25lbs. After DS was born I got down to my pre-pregnancy weight after about a year, only to gain 10 lb back in the stress of TTC.
At my last appointment (16 weeks) I had gained 4 lbs. At 17 1/2 weeks I got food poisoning and lost all that I gained. I go today and am hoping that I have gotten some of that weight back.
With DS I struggled to gain weight in the first and second tri so I'm hoping it's easier to put on weight with this baby and I'm no packing everything on in the last tri.
Did your doctor have you change anything to help with the gain in ypur first pregnancy? I'm struggling to put much on this time around and there's no real reason for it. I'm planning to bring it up with my MW at my visit this week, but am curious how doctors address this.
Hope you have a good weigh in at your visit today.
TTM - I cannot say how this one is comparing to my first 2, because I either just don't remember or I didn't really monitor. I just know that overall my total gained was within normal per my OB by pregnancy end.
This time, however, I went through a phase in 1st tri where I was just famished all the time, so I ate a LOT & frequently. I was up 15 lbs by end of 1st tri. Now I'm almost 20w and up about 20 lbs. My hunger has completely changed. I often forget to eat & my H reminds me that I should go eat something. I was hoping this to be a good side effect right now to counter what I felt was a lot of gain at first.
I gained 33 with G. I started this pregnancy 40 pounds lighter, but I've still managed to gain almost 30 at 29 weeks. FX I can keep the gain controlled until 39 weeks.

With my first, I was overweight to begin with, lost 25 in first tri to morning sickness/food aversions, and broke even by the end.
This time, I was also overweight to begin with, lost about 30 from morning sickness and then gallbladder issues/surgery. I'm 25 weeks and still about 7 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, and I'm carrying twins so I should be gaining that much more. It's weird, I have always really struggled with my weight and weight loss, and now I can't pack it on quickly enough. I'm working with my MFM and the dietician at their office but it's been a slow road.
I gained 30 lbs total last time and lost 15 day-of (baby was more than half that). I got the other 15 off by 6m postpartum.
Then about a year ago I started putting on weight and started this pregnancy about 10 lbs heavier. I've gained maybe 7-10 more but it's more like it's been redistributed.
I popped my maternity pants on the day after my BFP. I had picked up really bad eating habits. So I'm no help here.

For my pregnancy with DD, I lost 12 lbs between 8w and 20w (steady loss of 4lbs/month), was back up to my pre-pregnancy weight at 30w. Then it was all I could do not to lose weight for the last 10w due to GD, so finished about where I started. All the weight I essentially "lost" at birth, I gained back within 6 months postpartum due to breastfeeding. I started this pregnancy at just about the same weight I started that one.
This pregnancy I only lost about 5lbs between 8w and 12w, and am now at my pre-pregnancy weight at 20w; so essentially +12lbs vs. my first full pregnancy.

Stm. It's hard for me to gauge how much I actually gained last time since I developed pre-e and put on a ton of water weight. I think it was around 35-40 pounds. But I was overweight and lost weight until 20-25 weeks (I can't remember exactly.) I lost it al by six weeks pp and was nursing.
I'm 16 weeks now and haven't gained anything. I'm 30 pounds lighter than last time but still overweight.
This is #3 for us. I gained a ton of weight, 60 with DS1 due to activity restrictions (130-190). I then had a m/c and never really lost that weight. With DS2 I started at about 150ish and gained 40lbs which I never fully lost. I am now 14 weeks and have gained less than 5lbs from my starting weight of around 165lbs. I do not want to gain more than I have to so am very conscious of my eating choices without restricting. The major eating tip my MW suggested was to eat protein with everything and prefer protein-based snacks over carbs. I am also trying to stop buying junk food.

STM here. With DD1, I gained 35 pounds. With DD2, so far at 16 weeks I've gained 6 pounds. TBH I'm a little paranoid of gaining too much weight, especially since I've still got about 15 pounds from my 1st pregnancy.
STM. Gained 35lbs with my first (at my highest weight), but I lost some in the last month, so I ended up around +30lbs. or so. I gained a bunch of that weight (a good 15lbs) in the first trimester, because I was really sick and basically just ate bread, rice, pasta ... stuff I normally don't eat a lot of, and I think my body was all, da fuq are you doing? I then slowed way down and would just gain a pound or two every few weeks the rest of the pregnancy, so it all evened out.
This pregnancy, I so badly wanted to NOT gain so much weight early on, but it seems like it's going the same way. I have actually been sicker and chasing a toddler probably helps, so I've only put on 4lbs. according to the doctor's scale, but by my at home scale from my lowest pre-pregnancy weight, I'm up 15. It's a little disheartening, but I plan to be more active this summer, as I'm feeling better, so hopefully I'll be able to keep it in that 25-35 window they give you again this time.
TTM here. I gained 32 lbs with my first, 36 with my second, and I'm 20 weeks with my third and have only gained 10 lbs so far.
For me, it all depends on how intense my cravings are. Apparently when I carry boys (1st and 3rd pregnancy) I don't really have many cravings so that helps with the weight gain. With my girl I craved sugar so bad and I ate when I was hungry so the weight gain was more.
As long as you exercise some and make good/healthy choices in between all the sugary/fatty cravings you should be fine.
I feel like I gained about 35 with my first, but I'm not sure exactly. If anything it was probably closer to 40. I started 115 and came home from the hospital about 165 (but there was a lot of water weight from all the iv fluids)

TTM. My first pregnancy I only gained 14lbs and with my second I gained 20lbs. So far this pregnancy I've gained about 8lbs. I'm sure I'll end up around my second pregnancy or maybe even put on a little more.
