sabby2, ahhh, that sucks, I would be so mad! KayVeeKay, I think it's technically babbling but that doesn't mean you shouldn't count it as talking. I mean it's not exactly comprehensive adult speech but I feel like it's still a form of communication. So yeah, talking.
Dd has been getting up 1-2 hours earlier than normal lately, but also taking roughly an hour longer to go down for the night. She made up for it this morning though by giving me kisses while gently touching my cheek. Girl knows how to make her moms heart melt.
Today I'm taking dd to be a practice patient for the PA class at my former school. I'm mostly excited to show her off. I've got a super cute dress all picked out.
I am home on vacation al this week. 2nd day at home with DD and I already need a break! Any thoughts I had about being a SAHM are gone. I give you ladies who do this everyday a shit load of credit. It really does take a village to raise a child.
This girl was up extra early at 5:30am yay. At least she is napping already so I can finally drink my now cold coffee.
I am having a very strong desire to list our house. I found a new place I want to look at. I am in love. I have to cool it though at least for the next 2 months :/
sabby2 sorry about your H. That would piss me off as well
MrsTinMKE - Do people drink coffee warm? There are days that I seriously cannot wait to start working, primarily so I can go use the restroom without lugging around a child.
Also, it's so hard to not look at houses once you start. I've been looking for houses for probably the last 5 years, and we'll finally be ready in maybe another 6 months! I've seen so many houses I love. It sucks! But, now I know exactly what we want when we finally will be ready.
MrsTinMKE , jellykat2 I love looking at houses too. We don't have much of anything out here and the housing market is fucking ridiculous. Shit is SO overpriced it's unreal. When we were looking everything was either almost 200K range or the 80K range needed gutted because nothing is updated and it's all ugly as shit. Luckily we found something that didn't need the kitchen which is the worst part. Then went from there. Now I'm having problems finding someone to remodel my bathroom. I JUST WANT A DAMN TUB!
We too have major house hunting fever lately. Unfortunately our DTI is not pretty so I don't feel very confident that we'd qualify for much if anything. It sucks because the rental market around here is so saturated and it would actually cost less to buy than it would to rent something that's the right size and location. I'm going to talk to the mortgage broker in my office though just to check. I figure if I'm right and we can't get anything soon at least we'll be able to get a better idea of when we can.
Eta: Having direct access to the multi-list and not being able to buy a house is a special kind of torture but it I do have fun looking at all of the houses!
We are in the same boat of being pretty sure we won't qualify (I did just spend 7 months unemployed, and then started my own business which has made $0 so far.) nonetheless, we are going to the bank this week to find out what, if anything we would qualify for, and what we need to do to qualify for more. When FIL passed away, we inherited enough money for a decent down payment but it's getting the mortgage that might be tricky. The rental market here is bananas and our current place is being sold and they don't want to let us stay on at the end of our lease, so we have to go somewhere! As for the babbling, hell yes it counts! I put the stickers on the baby calendar for Says Mama and Says Dada, so it's official! I've been amazed at some of the words DS is beginning to recognize ("gentle", "go", "gimme kiss"). He's also starting to mimic some actions. So cool!

Dang it I didn't make note of when she started doing it. She's never just said "mama" or "dada" but she does this cute little thing when she's upset where she goes off like "mamamamamamama!"
I swear to god she has started signing eat and milk though. I don't know if she connects meanings yet, but it's so cute to have her nursing and signing eat at the same time.

All the TPs to my H for the "joke" he played on me last night. DD loves to climb stairs. We have a set of 5 wooden stairs going from entryway down to living room where she does most of her playing. The stairs are wider than any babygate we have seen so for now I keep a close eye on her- she gives herself away by squealing when she heads to them and I hold onto her as she climbs them or just pick her up and return her to living room. H was watching DD so I could clean etc. I was going down the stairs with armful of laundry as DD was heading up them. I got super pissed at H for not watching her. He was like oh shit sorry I was watching the Royals game- I got her. So I stormed off to laundry room and two minutes later there is a loud thud and H yells in a panicked voice oh my god S get in here. I come running, fall down in kitchen from running in socks, get there, and he and DD are sitting on stairs and he's laughing his ass off. He had slammed his hands down to pretend DD had fallen off the stairs. I gave him the worst look possible and ran back to laundry room where I collapsed in hysterics because of the images in my head from thinking DD had fallen off the stairs. I am so pissed at him. Not funny. What is wrong with him???

supplycloset, not even remotely funny. So many TPs to your H!
All night he thought I was overreacting. I think he got it when I explained to him that I had images of DD laying on the hardwood floor with her head split open. Or knocked out from the fall. Men are so stupid sometimes
That awkward moment when you go to post something on your uncle's Facebook only to find that he defriended you, your husband, and your mom. Wtaf.
That is always awkward but at least it wasn't just you. I know I shouldn't care but I always get kind of pissed when I realize someone has unfriended me on facebook. I understand when they want to "clean up" their friends list or whatever but I don't get it when someone has several hundred friends but I get cut. I'm like, what did I do? I hardly ever post anything, at what point did they think, hmmm I specifically don't want to be staryb's friend anymore? It's so not worth thinking about but I can't help wondering. Stupid facebook.

Yeah, I would have reacted the same way. I can normally take a joke just fine but when it involves thinking that your kid is hurt there's just no humor in it.
Well SIL has struck again. Last night she had us all over for BIL's birthday. At the end of the night she told MIL that she had the party at their place to give GMIL a break since MIL "never" throws parties for her kids. Like, what, seriously? She's thrown plenty of parties for her kids but BIL is 33, does she think it's his mom's job to throw him a party every year forever? She also asked GMIL to pay for the cake because she normally makes everyone a cake for their birthday but BIL is picky and will only eat ice cream cake so she had to order one. Way to give GMIL a break lady. I don't know what planet this chick is from sometimes.
Hey ladies! In reference to house hunting were also getting new house fever. Our current house is fine however the parking situation sucks! Reference unfriending on FB it always feels like a gut punch.

I don't count babbling as talking, because he uses "mamamamma" when I'm not around in the same way he uses it when I am around.
Also, HAAAY. I started my part time job already and it's been really busy - I'll be working like 3 days a week normally but I've been working more since I'm training. So H has been getting the stay at home dad practice, and he's more impressed with me than ever, which is awesome. The other day he goes "how do you even go to the bathroom?" Hahaha. Rookie.
