Trouble staying logged in? *UPDATED*

So I know some folks have been having issues staying logged in. We're kind of in flux right now with our new server move and getting things running again on the proboards end of things.


If you access the site via www.goodbyecb.proboards.com, please be aware that clicking on the sidebar links will LOG YOU OUT and cause you difficulty logging back in.

If you access the site via goodbyecb.proboards.com you should have no issue using the sidebar.


So basically for the next week, either use the GBCB link or plan on not using the sidebar.


We have been working really hard on this issue all week with Proboards and we think that we have things almost fixed. The sidebar now uses the goodbyecb.proboards.com/ links and should not log you out when you use it. You may need to login once or twice under the TCF links, but that should not be an ongoing issue. If the issue remains please tag theophania.

NariaDreaming, I was on the GBCB site last night and still got logged off any time I tried using a sidebar link.

ETA: I was on my ipad, using Safari, and on goodbyecb.proboards.com. Any attempts to navigate with the sidebar would log me out. I could only stay logged in and comment/like posts if I navigated to pages from the homepage.

@nariadreaming , I just tried going through proboards and it still keeps logging me out.

ETA: I tried my laptop using Mozilla and my iPad using Safari with goodbyecb.proboards.com. It lets me log in but then when I click on the side bar it logs me out. The only thing that works is safari on my cell phone.

I get logged off between logging in and accessing a forum from the center menu. Sometimes when I click login it will then leave me in the forum and log me in without entry of PW and UN...sometimes it's a loop to re-enter and access and try again. Hopefully it's just growing pains and will pass.

ETA on laptop, IE, access through TCF.com and gbcb.  It seems most prevalent if I use an IE bookmark, but also occurs intermittently if I click the forum list in the center of the page after successfully logging in.  Thanks for being on top of these kind of issues and posting about it - hope the addtl information helps you guys confirm that the remedy in progress works. NariaDreaming

This is my issue today No matter how I access, it logs me out using side bar or top bread crumb navigation.

but THANK YOU for posting things like this. It is awesome to be able to come see a post like this when there is an issue happening that many have apparently reported. 

Edit to add for NariaDreaming: I am on PC laptop, but not wireless at the moment. (at work) using Google Chrome. I've tried using both goodbyecb.proboards.com/ and goodbyecb.proboards.com. If using left TOC menu on either URL it logs me out. Sometimes, it logs be out when using the top bread crumbs menu (Then Comes Family>
... >Trouble staying logged in? READ ME! >Edit Post) but sometimes it doesn't. Hope this helps!

Gah. I really thought I had figured out the whole issue.

Proboards is based in California, so the development & support team won't be on until 12:00 Eastern to work on the problem again. I'll let them know that people are having multiple issues.

Can you each edit your original posts to include if you're on a mobile device or a laptop/desktop, what browser you're using, what URL you're using, and what the specific issue you're having is?

Even when I use the Proboards address, the log in link keeps redirecting me to TCF, so I end up being sent in a loop. I was finally able to log in to reply here, but it is only through the TCF URL. I still can't stay logged in when I try to access my BMB, regardless of which URL I try to access it from. Thanks for being aware of the issue and letting me know I'm not the only one!

ETA: I am on a laptop (Mac) using Safari.

I'm accessing the site through goodbyecb.proboards.com, but still having the same problem. As long as I don't use the links on the left side of the page, I can stay logged it. It's a good work around for now

I'm accessing through goodbyecb.proboards.com , but I haven't been using the left side tool bars. Just scrolling down from the main page to which board I want .. That seems to work for now .

Same issue but i found a quick work around is to go to the participated tab and go from there.

I'm on a PC, Chrome, and logged in through goodbyecb.proboards.com. I get logged off when I click on the left links and then when I click on login, I'm logged in automatically (basically reloads the board I was accessing). I get dumped onto the main board.

NariaDreaming, on pc using gbcb as log in and it logs me out. But it hasn't done so in about an hour maybe....

Yesterday on desktop go to gbcb, login at top, automatically redirected to TCF, click down to parenting, redirected to gbcb forums and got logged out. I tried twice and gave up.

Ok,

The good news- it's just growing pains and the PB development team is working on fixing a back-end issue that should solve everything permanently once we switch over to the new URL permanently.

The bad news- aside from disabling the sidebar and telling people to not click on thread links, there's not much we will be able to do to solve the issue in the interim.

This may be part of the same issue you just replied about NariaDreaming, but the logging out happens to me whenever I right-click a link to open in a new window.

I have been accessing the site using the proboards address, but right-click open in a new window switches to the thencomesfamily address and I am logged out.

Figured I'd post here in case this was separate from the clicking the sidebar issue.

ETA: If I change the goodbyecb.proboards.com to goodyecb.proboards.com the website reloads with me logged back in.

ETA 2: It's also happening when I use the drop down lists along the top.

I am in using the goodbye link and can access the home page logged in, but every time I click on a board, it logs me out. I can't comment or love tit anything.

I didn't have any problems until today when I cleared all my cookies. Now anytime I leave the site and come back, I'm logged out. If I click on the sidebar, I'm logged out. If I try to open a link in a new tab, I'm logged out.
