Because of my insurance I'm seeing an OB as my primary doc this time around and have only been to the MFM twice. Last pregnancy I was pretty much exclusively seeing my MFM on a different (probably better) insurance.
My OB doesn't seem to have too much experience with Lovenox, though she knows the protocols. But at my appointment today she mentioned again thinking that it would be better to induce me than to let me go into labor naturally. I will be switching to heparin around 36 weeks but she had all these scenarios in which letting me go naturally would be a bad idea.
I have never heard any concerns from the MFMs about spontaneous labor when on the heparin. I just don't take my next shot once I go into labor, which is what I did with my DS when I had him on heparin. No complications.
So my question is, has anyone been given the induction lecture before? Or is this something my OB is being weird about? I don't mind her as an OB, but I worry that her lack of experience with these drugs is going to be a problem. Either that or she's intervention-happy which isn't good either.
Thoughts?
Addendum: I haven't even had Lovenox this whole month because in Jan my insurance required prior authorization to get it filled and her office couldn't figure out how to take care of it. She told me today herself that it was partly my insurance being crazy and partly because this wasn't a medication they prescribe often at her office.
