So there's a thread of porn on the parenting board. Like first post so don't open it in front of children.
Yeah...I found that by accident as well. I don't want to see that kind of thing either. And if I do, there are dark seedy corners of the internet where I could go.
Like actual porn sites. Maybe the Parenting folks are trying to get the forums shut down entirely? Kind of disturbing that some people default to posting hardcore porn when mods are away.
I was just kidding because tumblr is like a shiny happy place that's totally full of porn. I think they are intentionally trying to be pita and get banned.

People are just really angry, and I guess all the inappropriate content is their way of going out in a blaze. One of the threads also referenced that they plastered stuff all over BM's wall. I think they're trying to make as much trouble for the TB admins and the parent company as they possibly can. They're using whatever outlets they have available to them.

I'm not endorsing the behavior, just explaining why I think it's going on. If you lurk a bit on (both old and new) Parenting, they're also reaching out to TB advertisers to let them know what has transpired over the last 48 hours. And encouraging people to rate the TB Apps and other associated social media pages. XO Group's (the parent company) stock price is down this morning. I'm sure it will recover with time, but it's sad people feel they need to go to these measures to feel heard.
Their behavior doesn't bother me. Once again its an anonymous internet forum. Do what you want. Don't look at it if you don't want.
I've only been around here (there) for a year and I already know I'd be really sad and hurt if my imaginary friends suddenly disappeared, and TB didn't care/know they had another place to convene. Some of them have been around for like 5 years. They can be pissed off.
The way they did it was BS. But... you have to look at it from XO's POV. The parenting gals will be the first to tell you that the whole point of TB is to make money by you clicking on ads. How many regs click on ads? Intentionally? I know I don't, and I get pissed when my mobile screen shifts and I accidentally hit an ad when I meant to hit something else. And regardless of how awesome the parenting ladies are (which, they are) it is a really intimidating board for newbies. And newbies are where the money is at. So I get XO not caring if there is a mass exodus. They want the newbs to click the ads.

The negative publicity and stock price drop will blow over. I doubt XO will feel any long term damage. Newbies aren't going to know to look here for the former Bump communities. Doubt they'll even care.
I agree TJ - but newbies go to BMB's first...is Parenting really where they start? I know they were moved from somewhere else once already anyway. But the same cyclical thing will just happen again - give it a year and new community will be build and things will be OT and what, you can only be on the site until your kid is 2 or something?
FWIW I'm still going to check in there. I'm somewhat active on the LGBT board and honestly, they have knowledge I can't find elsewhere about TTGP. Plus I wonder how new BMB's will work. If I get KU sometime - as someone who hasn't been KU before, lurking or participating on a BMB will probably be helpful, unless you all want to deal with my "is this normal" questions.

So I guess I'll be going both ways.
I'm fairly confident most of us are more than happy to deal with your "is this normal" stuff.

I'm not sure you understand the level of anxiety I am capable of having over this kind of thing...

LOL. When I was KU I'm pretty sure that I talked to the nurse at my midwives' office so much that she recognized my voice on the phone. And the receptionist most certainly recognized my name...

They're sending this all to people who advertise with the bump. Like: Do you really want to advertise somewhere that they banned all the mods and this post got left up for hours?
