My day took a shitty turn when DS (1) fell and hit his forehead on the tv stand. Huge goose egg. I called DH panicked and he came home from work and took him to ER. He is fine. But he looks like Harry Potter and will have a massive bruise. I was meal planning while he was walking around and playing. I feel awful. I think a drink is in order soon.
Don't feel bad! My boys had blue lumpy foreheads for years. They do ok in school...

In all seriousness though hawkeyestate, head injuries are a rite of passage for toddlers. There was nothing you could've done to prevent it. Glad he is ok!

Thanks. I am trying not to blame myself. And he is totally fine now, but in the moment it was awful.
I'm glad he's ok hawkeyestate. Shit happens. Don't feel bad. All three of my kids have gotten hurt plenty on my watch.
Thanks. He is just learning to walk so he falls all the time. This fall just happened to connect with the TV stand. It's been a long day, ready for bedtime.
My MIL, FIL, & GMIL planned to come.visit to see the baby today. Well that turned into all of them, plus Dh's uncle and cousin.
Tomorrow my BIL, SIL, her bf, & DH's other cousin are supposed to visit bc they will be a half hour away from us at a casino the night before. Now thats turned into BIL, SIL, her bf, dh's cousin, SIL's friend, and DH's other aunt. no. just no.
We said from the beginning we wouldn't have a house full bc its way too fucking overwhelming And our house is tiny. DH texted BIL to let him know if its gonna be thats many people, its not gonna work for us and we'll plan for another time. ApparenTly BIL is getting all pissy about it. Fuck it. idgaf.
Hells to the no. I don't know how old your baby is but the fewer visitors in a small house the better. Your BIL can suck it.
Hes a week old. I'm ready to have a fucking anxiety Attack. They pulled this shit when DS1 was born too. no fuckong way am I dealing with it again.
Life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes. But we keep living anyway, we rise and we fall and we break and we make our mistakes.

We're nearing two hours since the toddler was supposed to go to bed. She's been out twice, then I tried to lay down with the baby and she "needed me" so I tried to lay down with her and the baby woke up completely. I'm so tired and H is of course working. I'll be on my own through bedtime.
He's been coughing tiny baby coughs today and now he sounds congested. Don't be sick, my little baby!
Gaufre de Bruxelles - 120 grams of flour - 25 cl of milk - 10 grams of vanilla sugar - 100 grams of butter - 4 eggs - 2 pinches of salt
In a bowl mix the flour, the sugar, 1 pinch of salt and the egg yolks. Add the milk and mix until you get a homogenous paste. Melt the butter and add to the mix.
Beat the egg white to snow peaks (?) with the remaining pinch of salt. Carefully incorporate the egg whites to the waffle mix.
Cook immediately for approximately 2 minutes on each side. The dough is not great for freezing or storing.
Sorry about the wording @bruxannie, but when I translate from French my brain gets mixed up.
