Can't say too much from personal experience but from observations of friends. They started introducing milk during the day and just nursed at night until their LO no longer needed. Whether they weaned them or the LO self weaned.
Agreed. She stopped waking when she got dh instead of me
This is what we are trying right now. My husband is giving bottles for nighttime feeds. Fingers crossed it helps her sleep through the night. However a see a bottom tooth coming in. Ugh

I third Dad doing overnight activities if you're breastfeeding. It's how we cut out the feed. My DD would wake and need a diaper change but bc it was there would feed. Cut the feed she stopped waking.

Hit send to fast: I plan on WCM during the day and formula at bed until she shows disinterest. She is now cutting back on how much she drinks before bed. It was 7 oz now it's about 3-5 oz.

I'm not sure what I want to do. On one hand, I want to wean at 12 months including overnights (so I can go for an overnight trip.) on the other, I really don't mind continuing just nights/motn until 18 months. DS refuses a bottle though so I'm worried about transition to CM.
Idk. I dealt w motn wakes up at 4/5 months. My doc said we condition them to wake up and eat and that you should decrease the amount each night over X amount of nights and then be done with it. He related it to how if we wake up to pee at night and think about it were hungry but we've gotten used to not eating. Made sense to me and honestly I took his advice and she went back to sleeping through. I know it sounds simple and isn't (I die when she cio) but just throwing it out there. My doc is super progressive though

I think it totally depends on your baby & circumstance. We feed because he's not getting enough most days. Days where he eats better he doesn't wake up until 4-5. Days he eats worse it's 2-3. So it's more apparent that it's hunger vs habit. Also he lost weight between checkups so we have to go back in for a weight check so our doc said to feed when hungry & that's normal for motn for the first 12-18 months
I wonder about this too. I originally said I wanted to nurse til she was 1, but now that I know the WHO recommends til age 2 I just don't know. I just want to be done with pumping, I know that. I'm hoping I can switch to only nursing for naps and bed/MOTN after she turns 1 until age 2.

I can't wait to be done pumping too! I'm going to stop pumping at 1 year and then nurse for naps and bedtime. Your supply will adjust so you can continue to nurse as long as you want. I would just pump if you miss a nursing session and LO gets a bottle/cup.
