And for a truly random thought. I hate it when my wife asks me if I feel pregnant. It's been two days since the FET. There is no way I would feel anything, and I told her the same thing yesterday so why would she askme again today. I know she is just dealing with the TWW in her own way but it's annoying. If I feel weird it's because of all the freaking progesterone.

I will confess my friends that I have been known to harass my wife every time she went through an IVF cycle. I would drill her on what she was feeling. And then when she was finally KU, I would ask her daily if she felt the baby move and if everything was alright. I was horrible. Now that it's my turn she has been much better with being the non prego mom than I was.

... speaking of recalls and Graco, I think our infant carseat might have been recalled for the buckle/harness. I am not positive though. The seat is packed away in an oversized Rubbermaid container in our basement, and I haven't felt compelled to go check it yet. J's proposed solution is to just get a new seat. She says she likes the Chicco KeyFit better anyway, and wants that for Dosey. #MyWifeThinksWeHaveAMoneyTree !!!!

karlamo - I'm actually not really a fan of the original flavor Doritos either. I do like the cool ranch ones, but I haven't had then in a super long time. I will say, and I know this is weird, the powdered cheesy stuff that comes off on your hands when you are eating them is a huge turn off for me. I find it kind of gross. I was the kid who didn't like cheese doodle type things, etc. because I didn't like that they made my fingers orange.

Today's randomness for me so far... a transformer blew underground a block from my office yesterday afternoon and we lost power. We are on a dual power line and have a back-up generator, so we switched to back-up power within 10 seconds, but the loss of the primary power line and all the issues with the transformer blowing caused some electrical issues in our building that they are still working to fix. It also impacted the HVAC system. We currently have a lab that is at 92 degrees, and we have critical equipment and materials that are at risk due to the temperature. They are working to fix it right now, but it is not going well. I was on the phone at 6am this morning yelling at maintenance people. Happy Friday!!!

My wife has been the exact opposite of this, I feel to the extreme... she basically NEVER mentioned possible symptoms in any TWW, never asked if I felt pregnant, she is the epitome of "cool as a cucumber," but it drove me crazy. A few times I asked "Do you think I am pregnant?!?!" and her response was, "Babe, how would I know?" ... Fair. But, geez!!! Now with this second pregnancy, she also seems even more laid back about everything. I think it is just her personality, and also she knows I tend to be a little bit of an over-reactor, so she tries to balance me out... but sometimes I swear she forgets I am even pregnant! This is in no way to say she isn't super excited and probably nervous too, but she just keeps all of that so close to the vest and I am the exact opposite!

So, I think that if you're not having the problem with your carseat, you don't have to do the recall.

I got to work at 8:30 this morning (early for me!) because manada had to be at work by 8:15 for a program she's running today. I need some caffeine (I limit my caffeine but don't exclude it while pregnant). And I need to see if my Tim Hortons has the Reese's Peanut Butter donut!

As for power going out at work; that's my fantasy. My office is open 365/24 hours a day. WE NEVER CLOSE!! I dream about the power going out and getting the day off.

Because of our back-up power and generator, we will never close because of a power outage. We also are a 365/24-7 business. I am also ultimately responsible for facilities and the oversight of operations. So, in the case of an emergency, I am the one that needs to be here. We had a situation a couple of years ago (when I was newly pregnant with Will actually) where we had an issue with a "fire" (no flames, but lots of smoke caused by an overheated cooling unit in the ceiling) and we had to evacuate the building. Well, everyone except for me. I was walking the building with the Fire Marshall and coordinating with senior management for appropriate contingency plans. It's an aspect of my job that I never signed up for, but responsibility that just sort of became mine over time. My wife jokes that if anything happens to my office, I have to "go down with the ship."

Stringy, Good luck with the house! I hope you get it and I hope it's the first of a number of pieces of good news that you get in the next few days.

I am seriously jealous of all of you who have active partners when it comes to all things pregnancy and TTC (or are the active partner yourself). I seriously can't remember a single time that S has asked me what I'm feeling or how I'm feeling related to pregnancy. It kinda sucks. I thought the second pregnancy would be different since it was way more mutually inspired (I really pushed for #1, she actually brought up #2). She makes it up in other ways and it's exceedingly clear that she cares about me/us, but sometimes I like to talk about things, ya know? At least I have you all.

Oh and she finds feeling the baby move "Gross." It freaks her out. Awesome.

I guess I shouldn't have been frustrated at my wife for asking if I feel pregnant. I just don't want to get my hopes up if I feel pregnant because the BFNs have been hard. She has been more involved with TTC #2. And that is awesome. And I forget this is hard for her too. She also doesn't like it when I POAS but I can't help it! Maybe I will hold out this time .

With C she didn't like feeling kicks either. She would feel for like 2 seconds and want to be done. I'm sure it's a totally different experience being the non-prego parent.

wittyandwaiting, I have now tried the Reese's peanut butter donut. It is delicious. I love that the base of it is a cake donut. I wish it didn't have the creme filling.

Also, I rode the elevator with this guy. Turns out I'm afraid of parrots that I share an elevator with.

My 20yo niece has been watching R on Fridays so my wife can work from home. This gives my wife more time with R and we don't have to put R in Dc an extra day.

Today she tells us that she can't watch him in the fall cause her college classes are too much for her. My wife totally freaked out for a moment thinking how the hell are we going to get Friday's covered. We are brainstorming ideas now. The good news is I go on maternity leave right when this happens so we have 3 months to either hire a "mother's helper" or try to get both kid's in our current DC an extra day. I don't think our lady has any openings for Friday's but we'll see. We've been meaning to find a non family member sitter to have on hand so this may be a good time to try a care.com situation since my wife will be home and can screen/keep an eye on the person till we're comfortable leaving them alone with her.

I feel bad for R cause he LOVES his cousin watching him. He has her wrapped around his finger.

jgy, I know that to C TTC and pregnancy are very abstract. Early on I had a conversation with her and basically explained that I need her to ask questions and be interested so that I don't feel like I'm the only one talking -- even when things seem intangible. That has helped. I'm a total feeler and I need to have all the feels. She also finds baby movements to be "creepy", this will be a struggle when I'm pregnant, I'm going to get her a Doppler so she can hear the heartbeat and hope that makes it less weird.

I'm so happy that this little group is here for each other!

mahler5 C doesn't like it either....they're so patient.

Here's my random. I EFFING HATE COM.CAST!!!! I don't understand how their business practices can be so incredibly shady and unethical. Don't lawmakers pay for cable and home internet? Don't they ever have to deal with these crooks?

Anyway, I walked in and did a face to face with them today and to make a VERY long and boring story short, after lying to my face about what they could/couldn't/would/wouldn't do, they credited me over $230 back from my bill. Seriously? How does that work? I mean I'm grateful to have gotten my money back but why do I always walk out of those situations thinking "Oooooh, I got so lucky!" No I didn't. I was treated the way I should have been treated in the first damn place! And it's not like it was a pleasant experience; I didn't get a foot massage and herbal tea while they did it. I had to fight for it (in a totally non-confrontational way, of course, because I'm in MN and that's not how you get what you want out here).

AARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!
