Just finished The Cuckoo Calling. That was a good book and I have the next book The Silkworm on request from the library-was that risscaboobs that recommended that book? I have to read The Red Queen for this month's book club (just came in over the weekend at my library). I may not read it in time.
Read the Cuckoo Calling-so good. It's about a detective that is hired to find out if a model's death is really a suicide or a murder. It's also by J.K. Rowling so....
Also, I am reading Donna Andrews series where every book has a bird in the title. I'm on #3-Revenge of the Wrought Iron Flamingos. If you like Janet Evanovich this is a similar type of book series. I love it so far.

I'm trying to finish The Cuckoo's Calling so I can start on the book club book. It's really good so far.
ETA: I listened to part of the audiobook and did not care for the narrator. Also, I forgot to answer your questions. It's about a detective who's trying to find out if this famous model was mudered or if it was suicide. It's kind of a cliched premise but the writing is very good and it's hard to put down. It's also written by JK Rowling under a pen name. You should read it!
It is good. I just posted that I just read this as well. There is another book in the series! H is going to kill me since I keep getting more series but I can't help that I love to read.
And I still have to read the book club book as well....

Just finished The Girl on the Train and The Invention of Wings. I have a long commute, so I do a lot of audio books.
I found it hard to really enjoy The Girl on the Train because the main character is an alcoholic and self destructive and not terribly likable. It made it hard to root for her. Bonus on the audio book was that the other female narrator is Louise Brealey (Molly Hooper from Sherlock).
The Invention of Wings was great. It's set in 1800 America on a plantation in the south. It follows a white girl and a slave through their lives and friendship.
I am having the HARDEST time getting into The Girl on the Train. I keep hoping it starts catching my interest more, but so far, no such luck.

I'm reading it now and I can't put it down, MH downloaded it for me on Sunday and I'm over 50% finished which is a record for me.

Yeah! I have a lot of series that I read and here is another one to read. At least this one I started before there are 10-15 out (which I binge read to catch up and then wait impatiently for the next one).
If I get enough series going I may not have to wait impatiently for the next one....

I am one foot into both "Tigana" by Guy Gavriel Kay and "The Neverending Story" by Ende.
I've read both; Tigana is on its 3rd read. I don't have much time to read but I need my quiet time to get away from reality!
Tigana is one of the best books I've ever read in my life: love, revenge, mystery, a little magic, a little tragedy, a sympathetic villain and an ending that you don't expect. Its all about a people trying to find their cultural identity, but its so so SO much more.
Also, I finally started the book club book for this month and I highly recommend Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I read about 2/3 of it last night. As it was I would have stayed up to finish reading it but realized it was almost midnight and probably should sleep....

I know I have mentioned this before recently, but I just finished this morning All The Light We Cannot See. It was beautifully written and I did not want it to end! Like the ending came so quickly I re-read the last few chapters to make sure I soaked it all in. It takes place during WWII in France and Germany, so not a light read, but I definitely recommend.
I'm way behind on this thread, but I just finished this over the weekend and I absolutely loved this book!
The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult is another really great (but heart wrenching) book about WWII and the Holocaust. I really recommend it...and The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
I finished Big Little Lies last week; I loved it! It was a lighter read but really kept me interested. Hilarious too.
I love Liane Moriarty! I'm re-reading Three Wishes by her right now. It's a really good one, but I love most of her others like Big Little Lies and The Hypnotist's Love Story a lot more.
