Hi there! You're further along then I am, so I'm not sure I'll be much help. I was diagnosed with complete previa at 18 weeks due to a heavy bleed that sent me to L&D. I'm currently only 20 weeks with the twins, but I've been on home bed rest since I was released from the hospital and will remain so until my planned c-section (they don't thing mine will resolve) in May. There's a placenta previa and accreta support group on Facebook that's been a great source of info for me.
I did. I actually made it until 29 weeks and then I had some spotting which continued throughout the pregnancy but nothing major. I had a huge bleed at 32 weeks and was hospitalized for 6 days. Went home for 4 days, had another bleed, and was hospitalized for the rest of my pregnancy. It sucked but I did make it to 36 weeks. My doctor said there is conflicting info on bedrest but as much as it sucked it seemed to work for me. Hope both of your pregnancies are uneventful. Feel free to message me of you want to talk.

I have this as well. So far I've had one bleed at 19w that sent me to the hospital and then spotting at 20w and 21w. I'm now at 22w and I am really, really hoping that I won't see another big bleed again. Luckily I'm not on bedrest because of the conflicting info about the advantages of bedrest for placenta previa. I'm hoping for another u/s in the next few weeks just to see if there's been any movement in the placenta, which was completely covering the cervix at 18w.
It really sucks that after you get beyond the paranoia of going to the bathroom after the first trip that it continues knowing that you can bleed at any time.
Hi lurking around. I had complete placenta Previa diagnosed at the a/s at 20 weeks. First bleed at 35 weeks, then two more big bleeds. Delivered by urgent c-section at 36+6. The second bleed put me in the hospital on bedrest until I begged to go home. As soon as I got home I had my third bleed. They did the C-section first thing in the morning.
My son did great though. No nicu time at all. Good luck. It can be scary at times hang in there
I'm currently 32 weeks and 1 day. I was diagnosed at my 20 week anatomy scan with complete central previa. At 31 weeks the peri decided that my previa would persist as complete. Had my first bleed, at 31 weeks 2 days, but it was all brown so no hospitalization. I lost my mucus plug at 31+5. No more bleeding at this point or signs of labor. Waiting to have my c-section scheduled and determine a course of action.
Eta: I had a positive ffn at 32 +3 and have now had two steroid shots for lung development. Will have my first NST tomorrow.
Hi there! Currently 31weeks with my second baby. Complete placenta previa diagnosed at 19 weeks. Moved to marginal at 28 weeks. First bleed also at 28 weeks. Was on bedrest for 3 weeks now just pelvic rest.

I was just told today at 19weeks 5 days that I currently have a complete placenta previa. I go back in four weeks to see if there's any change. Just on pelvic rest for now but super anxious.
Hi ladies.....I found out at my a/s that I have complete placenta previa. Had my repeat scan at 28 weeks and it hasn't moved at all. I haven't had any bleeding so I'm just on pelvic rest. Have another scan at 32 weeks to see if it's moved. Anyone have any experience with it moving this far into the pregnancy?
@powermom, mine moved at 35 weeks to 1.5 cm away. I was going to attempt a vaginal birth at the hospital, but then I had 3 bleeds in the next week and an urgent C-section after the 3rd. It could still move for you. Good luck.
I'm 36 weeks today and my placenta is still complete and central. It hasn't moved at all. Currently on modified bed rest. I have brown discharge and brown bleeding, but nothing that has put me in the hospital for more than a few hours. I have had symptoms of preterm labor, so we are scheduled for a cesarean on Friday 3/6 which will be 36+4.
Thanks for the input ladies! I haven't had any bleeding yet but I'm so nervous it's going to start soon and I'll be on bed rest. I feel like a ticking time bomb
Powermom That's a horrible feeling. I understand as I've felt like that since week 20. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't have any bleeds. My doctors weren't very restrictive with me until I started having pre term labor, but I immediately reduced my work hours and physical exertion. Hopefully you're sitting or laying down as much as possible.
Powermom I do know a few women personally who's placenta moved out of the way late in third trimester. There is hope, but it's less likely with a persistent complete previa, especially if it's central.
My placenta is huge and there is no way it could have moved far enough.
knitnut I'm trying to be optimistic but don't want to get my hopes up too much. I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and I have an appt with my ob on Thursday to talk about everything. My next sono is March 17 when I'll be just about 32 weeks. My placenta has been posterior but complete previa. And there was absolutely no change from 20 weeks to 28 weeks. I'm ok with the c/s. It's just the potential bed rest with a 2.5yo that has me nervous!!

Powermom let us know how the appointment goes. I go in again at the end of March to see if mine has moved but I'm not feeling optimistic at this point.
Powermom at 29 weeks you still have time. Baby and uterus are growing quickly now, which is the only way the placenta can move. I'm glad to hear it is posterior. There is way less risk with surgery when posterior. Lots of luck and I hope to hear about your baby's birth in several weeks

Powermom, I had an u/s at 24 w and then just yesterday at 28w. At 24w the placenta previa had gone from complete to marginal however it looks like it's back at complete. I hope that you get good news at your 32w u/!
In addition to the placenta moving in the wrong direction, I also have a subchorionic hematoma. I just need to make it through 2 more months!

Thanks! I spoke to my OB last week and he said the chance of it moving out of the way enough to have a vaginal delivery is slim to none. But I still have a repeat sono next Thursday along with getting steroid shots
I'm sorry you didn't have better news!! I had a SCH with my last pregnancy but it started at the end of first trimester and resolved by the beginning of the third. I hope you have an uneventful rest of your pregnancy!!

I keep thinking that the good thing about this is that with a planned c-section I will know when this girl will be born and will not have to go through the fun of a passing due date with no sign that baby wants to come out (DD did everything she could to not leave).
Out of curiosity, why the bed rest and steroid shots if you haven't shown any bleeding? My midwife had told me that the most recent studies showed no improvement on outcome with bed rest.

My DD was the same! I was induced with her a week after her due date bc I had no fluid left. And then had a very hard 23hr labor. I'm not happy about having a c/s but at least I don't have to go through that again
I'm not on bed rest now. But my ob said if I start to bleed, I will be admitted to hospital for a few days and put on bed rest. If I have a second bleed, I'll stay in the hospital until delivery. He's giving the steroid shots just to be cautious. I'm a former NICU nurse and have seen the benefits of these shots
Update: 34w5d and in the hospital after my third bleed. I will be here until I deliver which will be between 36 and 37 weeks. It is unknown right now whether it will be an induction or a c-section.
Placenta moved away completely at 31 weeks and bleeds occured at 28w, 32w and 34w. They are thinking it could either be the edge of the placenta bleeding or partial abruption hence the induction so early.
jlb902 hoping for the best possible outcome. I delivered between 36 and 37 weeks as well, by cesarean. The uncertainty is rough. I'll be thinking of you.

Good luck jlb902, FX that it's an induction for you! My c-section has been scheduled for 36+1. With my sub chorionic hematoma my OB doesn't want to take any risks.
