I talked to surprise and she said she was going to come join us. Hopefully she will show up sometime today.
Gym daycares: I use mine. I try to go 4 times a week but it is usually less. My only complaint are the hours the daycare is open. It is always right in the middle of nap time. So if her schedule is off by an hour one day I don't make it. I'm also juggling my DS's school so that makes a difference. I guess I would be able to make it daily if I wasn't homeschooling.
I love going to the gym bc it allows me to recharge. It also gives me a much needed break from E. My H works odd hours so he isn't always available to give me breaks.
So I went to join the gym and there's a $40 enrollment fee And a $50 yearly fee. I think its kinda bullshit so I didn't join But I know I would benefit from it argh!!

And that's not including the monthly membership fees? Damn.

Yea...how much is the monthly membership? I've heard of joining fee...but never of an annual fee too. Is there any other gym near by that offers child care? Do you have a community center?
sanibel21 I belong to the Y and take LO to their child care while I workout. At first, I wasn't sure about it only because it was my first time leaving her with someone other than family. I would also bring her in her car seat and she'd stay in it because I didn't like the thought of germs etc. Now, she plays on the floor and the employees love her. So I'm very comfortable with it now! I'd definitely recommend it. It's especially great on a day where we don't have mush else to do, so it's a way I get out of the house. Can you do a trial membership to see what you think?
Eta just saw that you said it is pricey. Is there a Y near you? We had a joining fee, but after that it's just monthly.
If you count the chili in the freezer, two of my dishes for today are done, one is cooking and then I've got two left. Thankfully bufallo chicken dip just goes in a crock pot and does its own thing.
Nice!
FFSC: We're being lazy and getting pizzas/sandwiches/sodas from Wegmans, and asking folks to bring snacks.
I should add that's just one meal....we have to vacuum constantly now.
We have to vacuum constantly with a dog because of all the damn dog hair!! And plus we can't have him in the dinning room while lo eats because she doesn't eat just feeds him
So the monthly fee is $20 or $21. I can't tell exactly. But that's pretty good I think. They make up for it with those other fees though. I dunno what to do And our mealtimes have gotten very messy since introducing finger foods here too!!
Where in MI are you? I'm originally from Chesterfield, but I lived in New Haven and St. Clair Shores for awhile too. I still have family up there but we hardly ever go back anymore.

I love the Y. I just joined last month but the childcare there has been really nice. And being able to bring DS there so I can have some me time is priceless.

I'm watching the game tonight just for the commercials. I didn't even know it was happening until a few days ago. We're taking the twins out to eat at Frisch's tonight. I'm so hungry and the food posts aren't helping.

We just joined the Y today! I'm nervous about the childcare though. It just seems odd letting strangers watch my LO.

So $21/month + $50/ year & child care is included? Are the facilities nice?
That averages $25/month which is pretty reasonable - at least for here. And your health insurance might kick in $10-20 of that.

Plus $40 enrollment also. I'll have to look into insurance! I didn't think of that!

Been "single mom" all weekend...DH is in CA with his fam for his grandma's memorial so I've been offline much of the weekend...
Re: gym sanibel21... Do it!! I now go everyday and if my gym had daycare I would use it. (I go as soon as DH gets home from work) it has made A WORLD of a difference both physically and mentally in my life. I'm happier, have way more energy, and I feel more "in control" of my eating habits.
Re: dramz.... I have always avoided the conflicts on M-14 but still read it bc... Well it just sucks me in...but on a side note, someone said on TB that here it's p&rs and to that, I say, OK! Why not?? Isn't it just we are all being nice to one another bc we choose to come here and bc we (somewhat) "know" each other and are friendly? I think it's really great here! Someone else said over there...Fresh start...sounds fine by me! We are just adults/moms who chat...plain and simple. I like it.

It was weird my first time. But all of the staff in the infant room are first aid/cpr trained. And our daycare room is super nice. I went back halfway to check on LO and caught him laughing and playing with one of the staff.
