Are your LOs still taking naps? I have been having a horrible time trying to get dad down dr his afternoon nap. He screams, kicks, and beats on the door. Most days he will carry on like this for a little while then he gives up and goes to sleep. I need him to take this nap for my sanity.
DS still takes a nap everyday. He naps anywhere from 1-2 hours (sometimes more or less). Hopefully your DS is just going through a phase & will nap again for you soon!
A won't nap at home on the weekends (mayyybe in the car if we time it right), and only about half the time ay daycare. I wish she would nap--she is happier in the evenings if she does.

3timemom Do you think it's because you have the older girls at home with you now and they don't nap? I think if E had older kids around and they weren't napping he would fight to stay up with them. If that's the case maybe you can start a "quiet hour" for all of your kids where they have to stay in/on the bed and read or do something silently and perhaps that will get your LO to fall asleep?
RiseAndWine I'm not sure. He has napped all summer with them at home. I also make them go outside, downstairs or watch a movie while he naps. I think it's partly from going to bed later and me letting him sleep until he wakes up which is way later than he had been getting up.
I worked really hard for that to happen while I was pregnant because I needed a nap also. Now I need it even more getting up to feed the baby MOTN and he refuses a nap at all. I'm hoping today since he went to bed at like 10 and was up at 5 he will take a nap. Wishful thinking.
Up until last week Ian was STTN and taking a nap from 1-3 at least sometimes longer.
Missk0411- now that is what we get jealous over. STTN and good napper!!!
Word. I'll take her STTN over napping. We think she might be lonely napping at home because she's used to her classroom at daycare. DH sometimes tries to nap with her on the futon or nursery floor and she climbs on him and laughs. He usually gives us once she steps on his crotch.
She is still napping, around 2 to 3 hours. She was down to 1-1.5 hrs at daycare at 21 months but when I started staying home, it increased to 2-3 this summer. The school year is hard because we have to leave by 3ish to pick up DD1. So I often have to wake her prematurely, which is never fun. So, I have been working to get her up earlier, and put her down for a nap earlier. That worked well all week, of course today she slept in until 9, so that's not boding well for my 1230 nap plan.

This was us last year. We had to Leave at 3 to do school pick. This year though the girls can take the bus and I can stand in the porch and see the bus stop. It was the worst waking him up to leave.

Yeah we had to do it last year too, but just starting in March when I started staying home, because before that she was in latchkey. We don't have buses, so I have no choice, unfortunately
@mommatotwo we barely make the cut off for the bus. If you live less than 1 mile from school you have to pay for the bus, I refused to pay almost $600 for my kids to take the bus. We are literally on the 1 mile mark and we get it free.

Wow that's a ton of money! Thank goodness you made it! That's in insane distance- do they expect elementary schoolers to walk a mile? Obviously their parents would have to drive them! They should make the cut off more like a block, lol.

That is insane!!
This is the first year they are charging families. It's probably not quite that amount but pretty close. It's like $290 per child. The school district is in the hole so they are cutting back on a lot. They think charging for buses will save some money/bring money in, they also didn't hire any new teachers and they lost about 60+ teachers/aides this year. It's really sad and I'm scared of what's going to happen to the schools if the classrooms are at maximum capacity and the teachers are pressured. I guess we shall see how this year goes.
