Does your doctor/mw do them? If so, when did they start? My appointment sheet says they do it at every appointment but they have yet to measure. I am 24 weeks this week and have an appt tomorrow so I'm wondering if they'll do it then but am not sure. Of course I tried to do it and measured small but I have read they start a lot lower than you'd think (but can't find exactly where beyond "pubic bone"). Wondering what others experience is with this!
My midwives do them, but rather informally. They just feel with their hands where I'm at, and they've always said it feels right, but they haven't busted out a ruler or anything. Your dr/mw may have been checking your fundal height this way all along without you even realizing.

My midwife has done it at every appointment I've gone to so far. At my appointment on Tuesday, I was 22 weeks, and it was about an inch (maybe a little more) above my belly button. I would just ask about it at your appointment tomorrow and tell them that you were curious because they haven't done it yet. They should be able to show you where to start from (my MW showed me). Good luck tomorrow!

My MWs do. I think last time they started around 24ish weeks. So probably at my next appt. I'll be 25 weeks. So far they've just felt with their hands.

My first measurement with the tape was at 24 weeks. So probably tomorrow for you!
Exactly this, they used their hands and then the last appointment busted out the measuring tape. I actually got worried and asked why she was measuring me. I'm a spaz

I've never had this measured, with either my last pregnancy or this one. Both pregnancies had risk factors, so I got/get very regular ultrasounds. Maybe that's why?
My OB did this for the first time at my 22 week appt, and said my uterus was measuring around 25 weeks, two inches above my belly button. She didn't seem concerned so I'm not worried.
I have my app tomorrow at 23 weeks and so far he has never even felt with his hands. I can't remember when my doc started measuring with my daughter, that was too long ago.

That would make sense. Because you would have the real measurement, not just the guesstimation that everything is measuring okay.

lupineaura yes more than likely that's why! I will ask tomorrow if they don't do it . They have felt it at every appt before doing the doppler so maybe that is how they've been tracking so far.

My last appointment was at 25 weeks, and that was the first appointment that they brought out the ruler and measured me. He told me I was "exactly where I should be," so that's good. Before then, he just used his hands. He did tell me that from now out, he'll be using the ruler.
Mine started at 16 weeks. Though at my 20 week appointment they could img find the tape measur and my doctor just used her hands. This past appointment the nurse checked it first then my OB when she came in.
26 weeks and they've never done them. I assumed maybe it wasn't accurate with twins? They just listen for heartbeats or use a quick ultrasound to find. I do go in this week for a sizing ultrasound to make sure both babies are still growing on track.

I had one at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and 20 weeks. Each time they used a tape measure. At 12 weeks I was measuring at 12. At 16 I was measuring at 17. And 20 weeks I was measuring 20. My 24 week appointment is on Feb 4th.
I'm doing centering. My MW started the first class/appointment. I was 18 weeks, but I'm the furthest along of the group. Some people in the group started at 12 weeks.
Mine used the tape measurer at the last appointment...I was 24w4d. Prior to that, the listened for the heartbeat with the Doppler. It didn't register to me if they were feeling my belly or not.
