I think when kids get to this age, if they are going to shower with anyone, it should be at least someone with the same sexual organs. I would not be ok with M showering with my mom or MIL or SMIL, but I'd prob be ok with my FIL. He showers with my H sometimes and it's basically the same thing if it were with my FIL.
I totally read this as though your H showers with your FIL and was all WTF...

I'm late, but I'll forget by Friday this week! Today we went to the beach. Afterward, we discovered the showers were broken. There was a tiny spigot that people were crowding around and using instead. There were some kids playing in them, pushing and shrieking like it was a sprinkler...not exactly conducive to me rinsing off exhausted and cranky toddlers.
I totally stripped my kids in the bathrooms and put them, naked tush and all, in the sinks. Turned on the tap and rinsed them off in front of God and everybody. Definitely got the side eye, felt only a smidgen of remorse. I'd rather have people judge my Neanderthal ways than deal with kids in pain from sandy booties.

Here's a MC since I'll forget by Friday:
H was gone all weekend fishing, again. He got home around 3pm Sunday and went upstairs to take a shower and fell asleep. I was annoyed, but I knew he was exhausted and he'd just be a grouch if I woke him up.
I made fried rice for dinner with beef and lots of veggies that I know Alex likes. But because he's a little turd lately, he took one bite, spit it out half-chewed on the plate and said "I don't like it!"So I got him to eat some of the meat and carrots and declared that good enough.
I put a lot on his plate because I thought he would like it. Usually I would have trashed it, but I was so annoyed with H for sleeping, I scraped A's plate, spit and all, back into the pan for H to eat later.
Oh, and I took him to SweetFrog after dinner anyway because I needed to get out of the freaking house, convictions be damned.

aimeefarrahfowler, how often does your H get to go fishing all weekend long? I think you need a weekend to yourself lady.

I know, girl. He's done it a few weekends in a row, but he doesn't have any more trips planned and promised me the rest of the summer we'll do family stuff.
And he keeps telling me if there's something I want to do, to tell him and he'll take the kids, but I can't think of anything! Isn't that sad? Honestly, I'd love to go get a pedicure and just sit in a Starbucks and read for awhile, or go see a movie with my sister, but our money is kinda tight and it just feels like I'm wasting money.
Anyway, I just want him to be around, even if we're not doing anything. Which he says he will be. So we'll see.

I really do hope he's around more for you then! The weekends must get exhausting with you and the boys home alone. I know budget is tight, but maybe you could save up a little to do a matinee and lunch with your sister sometime soon? Just a few hours away would be so nice for you, I would think!
