For those following our temp saga: at 9:30ish it was 100.2. I nursed him and put a cool wet rag on him, but when I checked it just now he's back up to 101. More Tylenol.
He doesn't really have any other symptoms, but he has been biting down a little while nursing. I've heard that temps don't go this high from teething, but maybe he's an outlier?
I'm excited to actually have plans today! My best friend from college and her daughter (my goddaughter) are driving up for the day. We're going downtown to eat and check out the river market they have each Saturday. And for once the humidity is less than 138573% so it might actually be enjoyable outside! I'm ready for some fresh air, and to get us all out and about for a change.
I'm debating running to a local consignment sale whenever dh gets done with his hour long shower (yes, an hr, every day). Not sure if it's worth it, though, if sale started awhile ago? I'm new to all this!
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you're talking about the Mom 2 Mom sale, their FB page looks like they have a lot of clothes. Everything there is half off after noon, so it might be worth it to go then. If nothing else, it's an excuse to get out of the house.
I just went. Not sure what size N will be in come fall and winter, but they had a ton of boy clothes. Most of the toys were relatively picked over. They had a few girl things for J, but tons of boy stuff.
I'm doing adult things today like helping H install the new ceiling fans. Exciting stuff
We are also going over the football schedule and deciding what games we are going to with DD, without DD, and who is going to watch her (we are Rutgers season ticket holders). I really don't trust anyone but my mom or sister to watch her for long periods of time when she's not sleeping. I guess I need to get over
We have Ohio State season tickets, but they require tickets for everyone, even infants, so DS won't be going to a game for a while. They claim it's Big 10 policy, but it doesn't look like Rutgers or other schools follow it for under 2. Oh well. Hopefully MIL will be able to watch him for most of the games.
My FIL has season tickets as well. He said he is planning to up it to 4 tickets when Brady is 2 so that he can take him to games. There is no way in hell in riding 16+ hours in a weekend to go to a game.

GeekBeagle, that's some BS! I'd be pissed... Definitely not a Big 10 rule. I've been to Happy Valley with children under 2 and no ticket required there either. H double checked and under 2 is free.
As part of our 'donation' for tickets this year we bought bricks with our names on them. We are looking forward to posing with DD in front of it every year.

Aww that's super cute about the brick!
This is the policy copied from the OSU website:
At what age are you required to have a ticket? The Ohio State University follows the Big Ten policy of requiring a ticket for everyone, regardless of age, including infants for all reserved seating events including Football, Men's Basketball, Men's Ice Hockey and Baseball. For Women’s Basketball children age 2 and under are admitted free but must sit on an adult's lap. General admission seating for Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Gymnastics, Wrestling and Baseball, children age 6 and under are admitted free.
But DH has already looked years ahead into the schedule and is super excited to take DS to games when he's 7! Ha!

It can't be coincidence that every time DH watches DS there's been some kind of major deviation from the plan.
Usual routine: bottles at 7, 10, 1, 4 and 7 naps at 10:30, 13:30 and 4:30
Today I got home and Jake's had his 3rd bottle only at 3 and hasn't napped since waking up at 2:30. It's now 6, and he's gone out the door to teach. FML...
Our big plans for the day are making pizzas on the grill. I've already done a couple loads of laundry, worked out, and cleaned our kitchen this morning. Looking forward to football weekends when we have an excuse to just veg out in front of the tv all afternoon.
We were going to go to the beach (Margate if anyone is familiar with NJ) but DH's aunt was being a pain in the ass. They were going to do something in the morning and not get to the beach until Noon. Well, we wanted to leave at 6 AM to beat the traffic. At 6 AM, I checked and it would have taken us 90 minutes to get there. I checked again at 9:30 and it was 2 1/2 hours. Umm nope. Not sitting in traffic for a beach day trip.
So we went to the farmers market instead and I ran into some of DH's friends who have two young daughters. I only bought a loaf of bread and some hummus and restrained myself. LOL. Off to the outlets to make a return at Carters once Abby wakes up from her nap then out to dinner for BBQ tonight. Yum.
boxerrrmama85 feel better! Food poisoning is the worst.
Last night was a lot of fun with the bbq. After things got cleaned up I sat on the porch and watched the blue moon rise over the mountains. It was so nice!

Oh no boxerrrmama85 that combo is the worst. I hope you feel better soon.
Well the half birthday party was a success. S was so good the entire time and even took a little 30 min nap in his crib right when everybody started eating. It worked out perfectly! Now we're all snuggled up in bed about to take a nap together. I have to AW the cake my stepmom made for S. It was too cute.

Pizza on the grill? Do tell..... (It sounds delicious)
Just checking in and waiting for my AW pics to upload. We've been in MI for a bit over a week and are driving from Petoskey back down to Detroit tomorrow and we start our flights home Monday. DH is getting us a pizza for dinner since G is down and we have booze in the room. It's been good to have both family around and then to have a few days on our own.
G has 3 new tricks: raspberries, sitting up, and going to hands and knees with a bit of forward motion.

Yes! We have pizza stones we usually use in the oven, but they actually work better on the grill because it gets so much hotter. I pretty much turns the grill into a pizza oven. We make our own dough or buy the pizza dough from the grocery store and the crust comes out super crisp.
cougarette teething should not cause a fever that is a very common old wives tale. I say that because I think it's time to call the nurses line if it's not down tomorrow morning.
GeekBeagle I would say it is very very common for any big University to require a ticket for everyone. All the SEC schools do.
We are sorting out which games we will be going to this year. One home and one away DD will he at both. H will also go to one game without us.
So we ended up taking DS to an after hours clinic. His temp was staying up and got to 102. He also started acting more fussy than usual. He has the beginning of an ear infection.
They recommended probiotics to take with the antibiotics to counteract some of the side effects. Have any of you done that? Which one did you use?
