Morning Yesterday I went on a mad cleaning spree since we were having company. I've been cleaning and decluttering for the past couple of weeks but yesterday was the first time anyone's come over in months so I really wanted it to look nice. We had a really great evening!
Re walking/standing: my kid is still totally afraid to commit but she could clearly stand on her own if she wasn't afraid. I don't know what her issue is but I'm not pushing her. My little pseudo-nephew though, he is not quite 9 months yet and can stand for a good minute on his own. The kid is sturdy as heck!
Oh, and they taught each other how to drink from a straw, which was adorable. I love it when they pick things up from each other!
It feels so good to get the whole house cleaned. We did that on Sunday before we went out. Somehow it makes the week better starting off with a super clean house.

It makes it so much nicer to come home to. If we get home after a long busy day or vacation and it's a mess we're like. Ugh, this place. If it's clean though it's so inviting and we're actually happy to be home.
Have fun at the zoo today BTW! I haven't been in over 2 weeks, I'm slacking
Morning notches. I'm on my way to the gym to get rid of my extremely fussy kid for an hour, I mean workout.
Today we have a spouses luncheon to go to. I figure even though I typically hate these things I should go. I don't really know anyone here. I hope K plays out this fuss and is good at lunch.
Speaking of slacking I'm procrastinating getting out to run. DS now officially gets up an hour earlier and I do not like it. I made DH watch him for 15 minutes while he ate breakfast so I could get a little more sleep, but everyone knows 15 minutes does nothing. On the bright side, I have a busy day that should be good. I'm getting lunch with a friend who is 18 weeks pregnant to share all my wisdom, and then going to visit a friend who had surgery recently. DS will still be with SIL, but I'm skipping work. My brother has been coming with SIL since he is done with the bar exam but isn't working yet. I love that DS gets so much time with family!
I bought a new car last night! It was bitter sweet, but this new car is pretty darn awesome. Its a sportier Camry. It was a nice drive into work today that is for sure! We have dinner tonight for MILS bday, its at a brewery so that should say it all

Yay for the car. I'm sure it won't take long to feel like you've been driving it forever. Clearly I love the dinner at a brewery. Have fun!

Do you remember the dirty song from grade school, "milk, milk, lemonade...."? I randomly thought about it yesterday, and now I can't get it out of my head. I'm convinced my pump is humming it to me.
Daycare is closed this week for summer vacation, aka charge everyone the normal rate bi-weekly rate for only one actual week of care.
DS is being watched by a combo of my parents and MIL, which would be much easier if MIL could make up her mind. Initially she couldn't babysit any of the days. Then last week she volunteered to take all of Tuesday. Then on Monday she asked to also have DS on Wednesday. DH guilted me into rearranging plans for MIL because there are a bunch of issues going on with youngest BIL and "MIL is feeling depressed and watching DS makes her feel better." Which I think is a BS excuse for MIL wanting everything to revolve around her.

Lol I had never even heard the phrase until Amy Schumer made her video. Now McDonald's uses a version of it which just weirdo me out.

Ugh! Solidarity on the MIL issues. What is wrong with MILs??? Everything has to revolve around mine too- constantly changing plans to satisfy her because she's 'depressed' and cries if it's not what she wants. Hope you get it all figured out! It's so tough

Congrats!!!! Oh, and jealous of your dinner plans!

That's frustrating. Why do in laws always have to be difficult?
The baby chooses this morning to take a great post gym nap when we have to leave in five minutes. Why baby? It's like she knows when we have somewhere to go and purposely only sleeps then.

Amen. I decided recently to just embrace "never wake a sleeping baby" and rearrange plans. I hate doing that, but I love a sleeping baby more.

Stuck under a sleeping baby when I have to leave for work in 15 minutes. Oh well! For me, since DD comes to work everyday, being late with a well rested baby is much better than having a tired, nightmare of a baby at work!

Hope you enjoy your spouses lunch. Maybe you will meet some nice moms with babies!

I'm convinced that babies are hardwired to do this. My kid will fight naps all day every day until we have to be somewhere, then she's passed out for hours. My friend's kid did the exact same thing yesterday. I think they're totally doing on purpose just to mess with us.

I'm pumping at the spa, which is better than pumping anywhere else in the world. DH is being hilarious. He is so out of place at the spa...when I left him to pump he looked all awkward and commented that he was just going to find a corner to read in.
In amazing news DS took his first two bottles of the day with half formula!! I feel so much better.

When I dropped DS off at daycare they said he is graduating to the next class this month!! Apparently that means scheduled naps/feedings. No more cribs but rather nap mats. In other news, I have found some Adorable nap mats on etsy!

So glad to hear that he's eating. What a relief!
Glad you're having such a good time at the spa too. I'm sure my H would be way awkward their too but I also know he would love it. It sounds so relaxing and apparently there are lots of fun drinks to enjoy so bonus points!
