This is the inaugural PAIF 1st tri check-in here at PB. I pulled most of the names from the board-wide check-in from last week. Please let me know if you'd like to be added, your EDD, and how many beans are cooking if you know. The check-in will be posted weekly on Monday (read: late Sunday night so I don't forget).
A few questions to get you started: How far are you now? How are you feeling? What and when is your next appointment? Anything else you'd like to share or discuss?
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)?
Post by triathlete23 on Jan 26, 2015 9:11:14 GMT -5
Can I join? EDD 9/1, one bean!
9 weeks today. I'm feeling okay. DH and I did a lot of driving this weekend (>400 miles) and I found out that I have developed horrible motion sickness. Scrolling on my phone or computer has also been fairly problematic lately, so I've been pretty quiet on here!
Our next appt. is this afternoon. I feel pretty strongly about having as low-intervention birth as possible/safe, however that's up in the air right now since the RE discovered a partial uterine septum on my 6 wk US. Our appt. with the OB today will be an important one, since he'll be either giving me the green light to work with a midwife or deeming me 'high risk' and then I guess we'll go from there.
QOTW: I was surprised by how much and how quickly my boobs grew! (and how much they hurt). I knew they would be sensitive, but this is x10 more than what I expected. One night I woke up in tears because it hurt so bad, and the next morning it was like they'd had a growth spurt. Crazy stuff.
bbgirl676: Due dates are estimates based on an average anyhow. You're peeing a LOT more overnight than I am. I usually just get up once around 4-5am, but mine's more frequent during the day.
triathlete23: Motion sickness is pretty rotten. I used to have it really bad as a kid. FX you can still have a low-intervention birth!
AFM, I'm 5w2d today. I'm tired, have somewhat sore/swollen bbs, and always thirsty. Maybe I haven't noticed as much swelling because my bbs are already on the large side? Oh, and very slight morning sickness may be kicking in. I feel so precocious . My next appointment is 2/6 right now, but I'm going to move it back to 2/5 so it doesn't coincide with MH's son's new court date (same person from my AW post about a week ago, if you saw that, but different offense). That's my first ultrasound so we can look for heartbeat(s) and see how many beans we have. I'm excited!
I've also decided I'm applying for salaried jobs at the uni where I work. I like where I work, but I really want some paid time off for vacations, holidays, and maternity leave. Right now I'm working hourly with no sick leave, no vacation, no holiday pay, etc. You'd think after about 10 years of college I'd be able to get a better job.
QOTW: Thirsty! No one told me I'd be insanely thirsty. I knew I'd have to pee more (though I didn't realize it would kick in so soon), that I'd be tired, and that I'd probably have some degree of morning sickness.
Hi ladies...I think I missed the check in last week on TB so can you please add me! EDD is 9/3/15 and I have one bean. How far along are you? 8 weeks 4 days How are you feeling? still just constantly sleepy and huge boobs. anxiety wise I feel like I am starting to relax a little bit...Friday will be my last appt. with my RE so a little nervous about not getting weekly US. Next appt? Friday...final ultrasound with RE...I'll be 9 weeks 1 day. Anything else you'd like to discuss? is 10 weeks the typical cut off for the PIO shots and estrace pills? don't get me wrong...I can not wait to stop both of these It's just odd to completely stop something...I just need some reassurance =). QOTW: All of my symptoms have been pretty in line with my late loss pregnancy so nothing really new...I have been waking up at between 5-6:30 on my own the last several mornings which is super annoying since I can not keep my eyes open past about 7pm at night and obviously need the sleep.
b -my RE office is going off of LMP when I have read you don't do that with a FET. I am measuring more in line with what I have read how you count a FET...it's only a few days but it drives me crazy. I have just given in and I go with their dates.
bunnybun Added. From what I've read recently (since I'm looking forward to the end of pills and needles) is that the placenta takes over hormone production in weeks 6 or 7 through 10, so that makes sense to me. I think the exact timing varies between doctors.
How are you feeling? Like I took an Ambien while on a sailboat in choppy water. Even though it's uncomfortable, it's reassuring. I know I'm KU and that is amazing.
What and when is your next appointment? 1/28 for another beta, progesterone and TSH blood draw
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I'm just so thrilled to be here
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? Dizziness. I anticipated nausea and fatigue, but not the dizzy part.
triathlete23 - can't wait to hear about your MD appt! Hope there is good news and you can move onto the mid-wife. welcome to all the newly preggos!!! glad you're here!
Hi all 9w2days here! The nausea and fatigue is taking a turn for the better, I've noticed, thank God. I was getting nauseous about every 3 hours, usually around meals, and nothing but Zofran helped, but now its more along the lines of once per day, and I'll take it!!
I don't have another appt for 4 weeks since I just had one last thursday.. but the next one we will be able to hear the heart beat, i hope.
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? Holy constipation, batman. I never thought I would receive a high five from my husband when I finally got to poop.

Holy moly how am I at the top of that list!
How far are you now? 12w4d
How are you feeling? Good. Tired. Boobs less sore, not much queasiness anymore (not that there was a lot to start with, but its less). I can't wait for more energy!
What and when is your next appointment? Tomorrow is nuchal scan with MFM. Excited to see the beans again!
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? Was still bleeding from SCH as of 5-6 days ago, also hoping the nuchal will tell us if there is any blood left in there or not.
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? Lack of nausea/MS
8w2d today! I had an u/s today was so happy to see my little darlings' hearts beating away at 166 and 156. Both were measuring a day or two ahead. I'm feeling pretty good. No nausea just like my last pregnancy which freaks me out but all is fine. I get to cut back on PIO to every other day instead of everyday... my bum is incredibly happy about that! My SCH from 6w seems to be gone away, YAY!
My first OB appt is tomorrow. Looking forward to asking some twin questions because I feel totally lost when it comes to knowing how this pregnancy will be different than a singleton.
QOTW: I am really dizzy/lightheaded this time. I didn't have this symptom at all with my first pregnancy.
chiwifey I doubt I'd notice if I was extra dizzy or lightheaded since I get that randomly anyhow. Is it very pronounced?
shelbeans82 You just reminded me of a game called "Go to the Head of the Class" that I had growing up. It was a bunch of academic trivia and I loved it!
@cbnola Glad you're starting to feel less nauseated and tired. I'm really early, but I found that fiber gummies are delicious and help with constipation. (I've moved to gummy everything since that way I have incentive to take vitamins and fiber supplements ;-) )
wazzu08 Added. The adventure begins! GL on your next beta.
Post by lebradford on Jan 27, 2015 13:16:09 GMT -5
Can I be added? I'm lebradford, same username that TB.
I am 12w6d today. I'm cooking 1 bean and my EDD is 8/5/15.
I am feeling ok-ish. My nausea never got too bad, and the little bit I had is getting better. I am having headaches pretty much all day every day though, which really sucks. I also have been having a kind of irregular heartbeat or something. Dr. Google says it is ok, and my husband had something similar and everyone told him it was fine, so I am just trying to wait out my next OB appointment for all of my complaints.
Oh, and the exhaustion is ridiculous. I can hardly get anything done. I really, really hope that eases up soon or my baby will never have a name, nursery, or any baby items.
I had my NT scan last Thursday, and I got my integrated screening blood test results back yesterday, and everything is looking great! I couldn't believe how much baby had grown in 2 weeks! I guess we should consider telling some more people soon....
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? The exhaustion has surprised me (see above). I was pregnant with my son like 13 years ago, and I don't remember being tired at all until the very end. I'm shocked how different I feel this time.

Update from my appt. yesterday: I absolutely loved the OB- if he didn't practice a hour away from my house I would probably forget the midwife and go with him! He was totally DH's style, and even used his entire body to give a visual of the different parts of the uterus. It was hilarious.
That aside, he said that I have an 85-90% chance of having a healthy, full-term birth without complication. My uterine septum is very small. He gave his consent for a midwife, birth-center birth as long as he can co-manage my care and I come to see him every few months. And we got to see the little bean with a HR of 167, looking fantastic! We told both sets of parents the big news. Things are starting to feel real!
Hello there, I'm still trying to get the hang of the new boards, but I'd really like to try to participate here. I see a few names I recognize
I'm NotElsie, I have IR PCOS and my body decided not to ovulate 17 out of 21 months. I'm really happy to be here
How far are you now? 13 weeks today!
How are you feeling? Now that the MS has subsided I'm feeling half decent
What and when is your next appointment? Feb 20th - 16w2d to hopefully find out the sex.
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? Nothing in particular.
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? I was very surprised when my morning sickness started including relentless motion sickness. Thank goodness that is over.
Edit: I'm due 8/5 with one bean... and I'm just now realizing that I might be introing a little late since second tri is almost here.
How far are you now? I am 12w4d today. Due on 8/8/15 with Twins How are you feeling? I am feeling a lot better, but could sleep all day and night.MS has subsided. What and when is your next appointment? I have an OB appt. on 2/5, and another one on 2/20 with MFM. I had my NT scan last friday, and both babies looked good. The only thing the MFM is looking for the distance between the two babies. One seems so low and the other one is higher up. Anything else you'd like to share or discuss?
QOTD: My breasts have already started to leak. I didn't expect this one so soon.
I am 6w5d today. Due on 9/18. We had our first ultrasound yesterday, and everything is good! One bean measuring well and with a steady little heartbeat (117bpm). After the craziness with the spotting and the cramping, I am so incredibly relieved. I was expecting to just see a little blob, but it actually looks like a very very small something. Our next appointment is in two weeks with an OB. I feel like it is too soon to leave my RE, but so far she hasn't steered me wrong.
I am feeling pretty good. Like a few others, I am so friggin tired. By 2, I am a space cadet at work. triathlete23, I am with you on the motion sickness. We also did a lot of driving this weekend, and I felt like I was dying most of the way. Not pleasant.
QOTW: So far no real surprises. I guess I didn't expect to feel this crampy. I also thought I would be way more hormonal. Given how crazy I was while going through fertility treatments, I thought pregnancy would turn me into a complete ball of rage and sobbiness, but even MH admits that I seem to be relatively calm.
I have no clue about the distance either . The MFM wanted to know how they were showing at the first few ultrasounds. Can you change my Due date to 8/8, not 8/5.
Thanks to all for the heads up about fun things to come... I'm particularly thrilled about the early boob leakage fjamil1.
b I'm definitely an all-day and all night pe'er (or should that be urinator?) Anyway, mine is a bit better if I frontload the hydration earlier in the day.
I just intro'd on the main board, but also wanted to see if I could be added here. I'm cooking 1 bean, with an EDD of 10/4/15. (I'm SUPER new to forums of any kind so if I'm doing this wrong, lmk)
Let's see... Far along: 4 weeks 5 days... Feeling: was feeling great up until last night, when I hit the wall of fatigue others have reported. Next steps: Had the bloodwork for my third beta this morning, so I'm waiting for the results and I guess will figure out what comes next.
QOTW: Was surprised by the body temperature shift. I've spent the last two months shivering, layering with ski socks and long underwear... and now I wake up in the middle of the night (or conveniently, the middle of a meeting) sweating.
Hey ladies! I am 13w1d today. We had an appointment yesterday and heard a beautiful heart beat (140s)! So we are super excited. I have been very fortunate. The only symptoms I have had is being tired and having to pee even more frequently than normal. The symptom that most surprised me was fatigue. I knew it was normal to be tired, but I didn't expect to have days when I wanted to go to bed a 6pm.

Hi there! Nice to see you on the other side nomnom! I can't bring myself to intro yet, but I figured I should join the check in.
EDD - 10/3
I don't know how many bean yet. We transferred 2 embies and my beta #s are high. I'm praying for 2 but will still be so thankful for 1.
I am 4 weeks 5 days I actually feel ok. Nothing crazy. I may go back for another beta (or 2) next week, but it's completely optional if I do. My first US is 2/11. I'm SOOO happy to be on this side! Started TTC in 2004!
QOTW: peeing constantly! Seriously. I can't even sleep through the night!
Post by SweetieShellie on Jan 31, 2015 17:17:40 GMT -5
Hi!
I guess I will check-in here too (and on 3TIF at least until beta#3 is in tomorrow lol).
A few questions to get you started: How far are you now? 4w2d! How are you feeling? Like I want to throw up ... What and when is your next appointment? Beta #3 is tomorrow! Then I will book u/s #1 about 2 weeks later (the longest 2 weeks ever I'm sure!) Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? That IF brain sucks lol.
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? Morning sickness BEFORE I even POAS. I haven't actually vomited yet, just bad nausea when I eat, or if I'm hungry (soo all day basically lol). My mom had hyperemesis gravidarum (you know, what Princess Kate had) and apparently it can be hereditary ... I'm hoping I don't get that bad, but I'll take it if I must!
Edit: To add that we transferred 2, but don't know how many stuck, and EDD is October 8th 2015!
How far are you now? 5 weeks 2 days How are you feeling? Like I'm wondering if it's ok that I have fewer symptoms than my previous (not successful) pregnancies. And hungry. What and when is your next appointment? 1st u/s 2/11. I didn't want it too early because we were in limbo last time Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I'd like to go back to how I felt a few days ago when I was super confident because I had normal doubling rates for the first time ever.
QOTW: What is the pregnancy symptom that surprised you the most (so far)? Well, lack of symptoms. Aside from the fact that I had to pee all.the.time. yesterday.
