For those of you with LOs in daycare, are you planning on going in or sending in anything special for the class? FTM, so I'm not sure what is typical. On one hand, I know DS and his classmates won't really care or remember. But on the other hand, I feel like I don't do enough sentimental stuff and don't want to ignore DS's birthday if it is something other families celebrate.

Also FTM so curious what others do. Maybe ask the daycare what other kids do.
I love this dress!! I found adorable fox-themed outfits on etsy for DD's birthday, but my mom just gave me the dress I wore on my first birthday. I really love the outfits I found that go with the birthday theme, but... Putting DD, who is a spitting image of me at that age, in my birthday dress would be pretty darn cute!

I saw super cute fox stuff on etsy last night and thought of yoU! However, I wouldn't be able to pass up dd wearing the same dress as me either. That's awesome that your mom saved it! Although, it's always a good idea to have a backup outfit, ya know - in case one gets dirty?!?

Super great idea. DD has to eat cake, right??
You are absolutely right! And, doesn't she need something on her actual birthday AND something else on her party day? A girl can't wear the same thing twice!!

Looking for puppy outfits for DS's puppy party. What do you lads think of this? Do you think it would photograph well?? Edit. Just read the fine print and the price is only for the jumper. I'm going to keep looking!

With our older son we did send in small gift bags for the babies. I did a pack of goldfish and a small squirt bath toy in an Elmo bag. But when he turned 2 I did nothing lol.
I booked a kids play place meant for kids under 4 back in Washington. I just sent out the invites. We are celebrating two weeks early while we will be there. The place does some balloons and colored plates/utensils. I'm not sure how much other decorating we will be doing. I'm just happy my family will be there.

If it were me, I would maybe do goodie bags that double as table decor and call it good.

Unless you want to go crazy, I would think the stuff the place provides is fine. The kids will all want to play and probably won't notice much else. If you do want to buy stuff, walmart has really great prices on party stuff. They have all the same stuff as party city at half the price

I think the kids definitely won't care. I might check out walmart though and see if I can find a few cheap things. Thanks for the tip!

saraml13, DS1 is turning three this November and this is the first year I've considered sending in something special for his class for his birthday. For his previous two birthdays, I just thought that he was too little and I don't think any of the other parents did anything. We usually take a day off on his birthday and do something special with him.

saraml13 I talked to our daycare about what they usually do for 1st birthdays. They said that parents usually bring a little fruit for the class and a cupcake for the birthday baby and sing happy birthday.
For those of you doing a cake smash...are you doing it in the highchair? Are you using a fun background? Are you buying a plastic cake stand?
I'm gonna do a cake smash with her first birthday pictures so just on the ground with the hat and a diaper cover, no top. For the party she'll in highchair for a cupcake with the banner attached.

So far, this is the only thing that we have purchased for Stinker. It is both a decoration and his big gift.
We won't do much for decorating because we are inviting 0 people over, but I'm still going with a theme for smash cake photo op, cake decoration, and menu.
We're doing a circus, so I'm going to try to find him a little top hat, and we're going to eat popcorn and corn dogs and peanuts.
