I feel like I need a new hobby. Since having Emma she has become my hobby, the thing I spend all my energy and downtime focusing on. I need something for me. I've been feeling really passion-less lately and really feel like having something for myself would help. Trouble is, I don't know what!
I used to paint, and was fairly good at it, but got to the point that it felt like work and my OCD took over and I would stress over every not perfect brush stroke. I'm not sure I can keep oil paints out with Emma around either.
In theory I would love to run, but in reality I hate to get sweaty and am out of shape. I can't cook, I love decorating my house (but am broke), I'm an introvert. I've toyed with the idea of knitting or crocheting, but I'm kind of impatient.
Honestly I'm not really a hobby/crafty person. To relax or have me time I read, watch TV or work out (when not pregnant). I really love Barre fit classes and plan on doing those once a week once I recover from birth. At home when the weathers nice I like to go for long walks outside or if it's crappy I run on the treadmill or do Jillian Michaels. And I read a lot of books.
I make wire jewelry and sew. I completely get you on the not having the patience for crocheting and knitting. For me they are too repetitive of the same thing over and over. I have been sewing a whole lot more than doing jewelry recently. I love making toys and fun things for Emmett and his friends. I have recently started quilting as well. I am on my second (and much more elaborate) quilt. I work on it while Emmett is napping each day. During nap time is my me time to do whatever I want, so I sew and watch netflix. I will be so sad when he stops napping.
I'm not really crafty either. I thought I wanted to learn to crochet, bought a hook and yarn to learn, watched a few videos on YouTube, but just could get into it. I've gotten back into running so I run 4 days a week, and am training for a half marathon. I am really enjoying feeling strong and fast again (even though I am actually slow
I also like to read and cook so I am trying to do more of those or at least cook more things that I enjoy. I am always tired at the end of the day and like to watch TV. I have realized that if I need to keep my hands busy while watching TV, there is probably laundry I can fold.
I just started "planning" as a hobby. It's like taking your daily planner to scrap booking level. It's kinda odd, but there's this whole world out there of planner addicts!
It's letting me use my scrap booking supplies it's a subtle way and helping me get my sh-t together (bills, work, kids' schedules). I had thought I could live off my phone calendar, but it hasn't been working. I need the pen/paper calendar to really see what's going on.
I also have been creating digital scrapbooks for the kids. It lets me be creative without the 30min setup/clean-up or kids destroying my work environment.
britbratjf and babywinks, I really, really want to be one of those people that love to work out but I just don't have it in me. I do usually force myself to go, but have been such a slacker this summer.
lainikins I have always wanted to sew! My mom sews and makes the cutest stuff. I'm always jealous of all the sewing ladies!
versed, that sounds like a hobby my OCD self could get behind! I used to love to scrapbook, but it got overwhelming. I'm going to google this, sounds interesting!
I love hearing about what others do in their spare time!
I was having the same problem. After the miscarriage my anxiety went out of control so lately I've been trying to find a new hobby that also can be an anxiety buster. I try to get out an exercise. I find it hard to find the time and I hate running but I do it when I can. I started yoga. I really didn't think I was a yoga type person but so far I like it. I go once a week. My mom gave me her old sewing machine and I've realized that when I'm sewing I don't focus on my worries. I am going to sign up for a class today bc I want to actually make something. I also do a lot of photography, but I usually do that with Tommy since he's my subject. I bring my camera almost everywhere and I do like taking pictures whenever possible.
justbeth oh I don't love to work out. I have to force myself. But I refuse to give up wine/sweets/carbs so I have to do something:) Honestky though I do really like the Barre classes. They KICK your butt but it's a nice change from the treadmill. You could look into yoga or Pilates classes too - something different, not as intensive & a good way to meet people. And even though I have to force myself to start always feel so refreshed & relaxed after a good workout
I also work on Shutterfly photo books to keep all our pictures organized.

My almost 5yr old still naps most days. Here's hoping you have the same luck!
I was also going to suggest yoga. I started it in college and it really helped with my depression. I hate working out but love yoga. There are tons of videos out there for different levels and time limits from 10 minutes to hours. I always feel better when I do it and it's easy to do at home or in class. I also read a lot in my free time. Nothing too heavy. It's a nice way to escape for a while. I also like to draw and paint but I'm with you that it takes too many supplies and too much setup and takedown. I would recommend one of those adult coloring books for when you just need to keep your hands busy. I don't have one yet but my birthday is coming up and I have mentioned it a couple of times. If you are looking for a more cardio hobby, H just took up biking about 3yrs ago. He hates running but loves biking. I'm probably going to start after this baby but I'm pretty clumsy so we will see how that goes.
Meal planning, meal prep, and cooking. I love it! I really got into eating more clean after doing the added sugar challenge and now I'm starting my first whole30. I spend my free time reading blogs, finding recipes, planning meals, and making food.
I sew and I also run. (i use that word loosely) I'm not one of those people who LOVE running, but I do enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after I push myself
justbeth I feel very lucky that I am one of those freaks who not only likes to run, but absolutely loves the treadmill. We have our own so I often run while the kids nap. I watch something on Netflix and listen to music with headphones at the same time - lots of stimulus and distraction from when I am running hard. I get antsy on the days I don't run now.

I hide in the bathroom "pooping" and drinking wine.
I clearly also need a hobby. I really like to cook and bake, but getting interrupted a thousand times takes the fun and relaxation aspect out of it for me.
For my crafty side I cross-stitch. Unfortunately the only time I have to do it is after the kids are in bed. Usually I'm too tired at that point to pull it out so I'm lucky if I touch it once a week.
I also really like to cook. I spend a lot of time looking up recipes online, looking at cookbooks. I mostly cook on the weekends when I have time and can shove the kids off on H so I'm interrupted a little less.
To relax I enjoy reading but I also have very limited time to do that. If the stars align and both kids are asleep at the same time, I try to get a little reading in, but that is pretty rare these days.
I also like to read. I used to do photography- as in B&w film. I even have the stuff for a darkroom. But alas no time or space anymore. I loved it though!
I read a lot and run a book recommendation blog with a friend of mine. We just redesigned a few months ago and that took a lot of time. Writing is sort of a hobby for me? I say sort of because I do want to get published, so I'm not doing it just because I enjoy it (in fact, like working out, there are often times that I distinctly do not enjoy it.)
Crafty wise I like to knit/crochet, or bake cookies.

Rearranging rooms? Does that count? I drive my H insane. I organize things I guess. Or decorate and make things as decorations. I don't get as much time as I used to. I used to throw awesome dinner parties with themes but since most have had kids or moved we just don't get together anymore like we used to. I still like party planning and that sort of thing and would consider that a hobby of sorts. If we move I can't wait to dig in and redecorate with projects and have even thought about cataloging with a blog I guess ala young house love.
I don't really have time anymore either for hobbies, but I love to bake. I have a kitchen aid mixer and it makes it so much fun. Problem is I am a perfectionist and i can't stand it when M tries to "help".
I used to also enjoy count cross stitch, but I haven't done that in years. And making things, like wreaths for the front door to coordinate with holiday or time of year. Or just DIY decorations for the house for a specific holiday is fun too.
I would also love to get into scrap booking. But so many tiny pieces and a 3 year old probably wouldn't mix.
Do you play video games at all? Theres some pretty decent online games that you can play for free. You can build a character, go on adventures, interact with others, etc. Best part: you put as little or as much time in as you want.
Scarpbooking has already been suggested, and thats a great idea. You seem to like to create (painting) and maybe scrapbooking won't have the anxiety of perfection attached.
That being said: what about painting pottery, or staining things for around the house (step stools, making decorative things to hand, etc)?
Scrapbooking and darts. But darts is more just a night out. Scrapbooking is my real hobby. I try to work on it 1x a month and I sell it and teach a class 1x a month also. I love it
For me it's exercise/being active outdoors. It's really a family thing - my H and I try to take the kids out for a long run every weekend, sometimes our schedule means we have to split it up and go one go Sat morning and one go Sun morning. We also just got a carrier for my mountain bike this week, so now we can all go for bike rides together too. My H and I did triathlons before I got pregnant with Ingrid, and bike riding has been something I've really missed. Now that we can all go together, I imagine we'll go out for a ride every weekend, weather permitting.
As far as something I do just for "me" I'm not sure if I have anything. But I do exercise on my own several nights during the week and that's when I listen to podcasts, which are kind of an obsession. So I guess podcasts would be my other hobby.
