Started off my day with my weekly donut! Going to the farmers market soo after Liams nap.
In BIG news..... Liam is taking steps! I'm doomed. He prefers to use his push toy but he has taken a few without holding on. It's totally adorable but also, slow down kid. Pls
He slept fairly decently (up once with a crying fit for about 20 min and then up at 5 for a bottle) but I'll take it! He woke up around 7 but was talking to himself in the crib so it was nice to wake up slowly.
We survived yesterday's errands of applying for LO's passport and the 9 months wellness check. We have been dealing with a yeasty diaper rash and the pediatrician changed the treatment yesterday so we'll see how that goes.
Boy, it was a long day. With so many distractions, she refused to take a bottle from 11am until 5pm. We need a new strategy for feeding when we are out and about.
jjh1119 Yay Liam for sleep and steps. It seems that he can entertain himself in his crib. This girl here is like, but I'm awake so take me out.
Oh whoa jjh1119-- steps!? That's wild. I came back from my run and baby was still asleep! I talked to my MIL for about an hour and baby was STILL asleep! She just woke up. That was about 14 hours of sleep. Wth? And her top tooth broke through yesterday. Good grief these kids are growing fast.
I cannot wait to cook dinner with the yummy stuff I got from the market. Most excited for cranberry pecan bread with burratta. And balsamic vinaigrette
Mmm that sounds yum jjh1119! I did not make it to the farmers market today because of baby's long sleep. She was in the crib for about two hours, then came to bed with me and stirred two more times in the motn. I dream fed her before I left, but yeah she had a snoozefest. And you'll never believe it, but she just went to sleep again! When does the next growth spurt happen? I feel like if it's not now, I might want to get her checked out...
I think there could be a growth spurt that is somewhere around now. Liam was definitely in growth spurt mode a few weeks back. If she is still sleepy tomorrow I would think to call the pedi on Monday but otherwise I would say she is growing and needs her sleepy time
Haha. Perhaps a slight exaggeration. Though this morning he had two 6 ounce bottles like an hour and a half apart. But for the most part back to normal as of the last two nights. We will see what tonight brings!
We are going to try out a new Mexican restaurant tonight. I heard they have great margaritas! My favorite is the one where they put a beer in it upside down- can't wait!
Our nap schedule got all wonky today because of sleeping in and brunch. Who knows what tonight will bring? Right now she's jumping in her crib and doing laps instead of second nap. Babies. So unpredictable.
zengal I'm jealous of your marg plans. I told myself August was booze free. Reallllly rethinking that.
One of my good friends who has a 15 month old told me she's KU... With twins. Lots of emotions! I'm mostly nervous for her, and sad? She moved to a different, harder to get to, part of the city and we already see each other very little. This isn't going to make it any easier. I'm also surprised I'm not jealous? Must be good with being OAD today, or just thankful I'm not in a three under two situation.
DD was up from 11 - 3. DH came and took over at 2 when she was playing with my cookie cutters. I now keep them on a low shelf be cause she likes to pull them out of the jar and then put them back in.
jjh1119 walking is amazing and feels crazy to think about. DD will only walk along items if there is something she wants.
gldnbearz we can only feed solids out because DD gets too distracted.
Speaking of feeding out I've started ordering sides of Mac-n-cheese when we go out because DD loves it and she can feed herself the noodles. I really thought I'd make sure she eats healthier but it allows us to eat without her crying. I still share my veggies and meat but it's not always as balanced as I like.
zengal sounds like amazing sleep. Fx crossed for a repeat.
pixie523 weekends always mess up or nap schedule at least a little.
pixie523 not rotten! I guess we might release more than one at a time. Use 'em or lose 'em? I don't know what whiplash is. We have ghost adventures going. The marg was good, but I wish I had a pitcher of them.

songbirdsinging55 sorry so late but Baby TV is a bunch of singalong nursery rhymes with big bright characters. I've been playing Big Bugs Band for him since he was like 3 months to get him to stop crying. And now he's obsessed with that one. He rolls straight up to the TV in his walker and his hands and feet start moving lol. I play it once per day when he's the crankiest.
Hoping today is a new day. We've been been with LO all day Friday and Saturday. She's been horrible about the bottle after her first one of the day and until about bedtime. She isn't eating solids beyond half a dozen bites, as if she was bored with her high chair and yells to get out. Then it just all goes to hell in a hand basket.
I hope today is a new day for you too gldnbearz! May it be filled with willingness for foods and milk in the right amounts, and pleasant demeanor all around! pixie523 Did you survive the movie? I always say I generally don't like movies too, but there are a handful that I would - and have - watched again and again and again: The Princess Bride, Tommy Boy, Office Space, Anchorman, Raising Arizona... Well baby slept in again. She's eating a lot, normal activity when she's awake, no fever, and no difference in diapers. Maybe she's just tired?
zengal Sounds like your baby is catching up on her beauty sleep.
LO went 1.5 hours, 4.5 hours, and 3.5 hours overnight. Fed her each time she woke b/c she was that far behind. No issues taking the bottles down.
Woke up this morning and wanted nothing to do with the bottle or solids again. Perfectly happy to crawl around then whine when she gets tired.
MH commented that she was making some odd noises with her mouth. Sounds to me like she is grinding her teeth, but I can't get a good feel for her upper gums. Pediatrician took a feel during Friday's check up and said maybe another couple of weeks. Not looking forward to another two weeks of this pattern.
