I'm not caught up and most likely won't be after my day battling the blizzard, but seriously 9.5 oz in one sitting? And 8 oz from each breast in another sitting? What are your secrets?! MrsTinMKE and knittymeggy
The most I have ever gotten is 5.5 oz total from both sides, and that's rare in the morning when I haven't nursed in a few hours. My norm from both boobs is 3-4 oz (that's total!).

Just want to thank the ladies who thought of me. I took a break for a little bit as the doctor tried to adjust some medication for me. I feel a little better. Less anxious and the crying has mostly stopped. DH says I am starting to seem more like myself, so I guess that is a start.
Welcome back! You have been missed!! I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Hope your LOs are well!!
As a healthcare provider and mom, this makes me furious...I'm so sick of people buying into what celebrities think over very WELL SUPPORTED medical evidence!!!
People always say "What celebrities think", but frankly, there ARE HCPs out there actually siding with the anti-vaxers, and even more not exactly siding with them, but saying we don't know definitively. Even a few HCPs saying this is enough to sway people who are on the fence regarding the issue. For me, this is a huge part of the issue.
I wax lyrically about the Andrew Wakefield saga constantly, but the truth is that the internet gives all the psychos a platform, even non-celebrities, and people say whatever they want on their webpage, it gets a million shares on FB and suddenly it's gospel. And if not gospel, it's enough to make some people think twice.
I say this about books too. It's like ... Here...I didn't do any actual research, but I'll cherry-pick data to put in my book to convince people to believe a complete fallacy.
Have you ever read sci-ence? It's pretty interesting blog, but they have an especially great post "The Red Flags of Quackery." sci-ence.org/red-flags2/

Tell me your secrets, women with unicorn boobs!!
Hmm.. I just pump...pump.. then pump some more! lol I think part of it is because I started pumping at three weeks. I also try to make sure I am always hydrated, and I try to pump for at least 30 minutes each time. I used to really rush it and only pump for 15 minutes, but I started noticing more output if I went the extra 15 minutes about. 9.5 was like the most, and this usually happens if I go from like midnight to 6AM without pumping/feeding
It could be worse. I'm just blown away but the big pumping volumes I've read here and on TB previously.
i get excited if I get 2 oz combined from a pump. I have zero expectation of keeping up with DS at this point -- I just try to make sure he gets some bm whir he's at day care. While I'm okay with how it all works for us at this point, I'm still a litte jealous of everyone who can ebf/EP.

I also started pumping early on and try to stay really hydrated. I only pump though about 15-20 minutes. I typically get around 10 ounces except when I go from 10pm until 7am and get about 16 ounces.

You're doing such a great job. I hope this pumping talk didn't make you feel bad. As long as our babies are fed, they will be fine! And I admire you for how hard you've worked and for how many obstacles you've overcome with BFing.

My rainbow arrived 10/15/14.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs.
TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.

Time to seriously up my water intake!
I've always made some serious milk though. Even when DS was EBF I made way too much and it came out way too fast for him to keep up with. That's why I ended up having to switch to EPing. It's both a blessing and a curse.
So why would the hospital code my PPD as psychosis/recurring severe depressive disorder on the billing statement but everywhere else list it a PPD with no psychotic features? I'm no doctor but I'm not sure those are the same things?
Billing is completely different from everything else. I don't know how far into it I would think about that.
It's probably just a prompt/menu option. My visit summaries always say "diabetes (uncontrolled)" which is sort of redundant IMO.

3-4 ounces is a normal output for pumping...more is either an oversupply or an EPer who is only pumping a few times a day (25oz/day total is a typical supply).
What's considered normal? S is pretty steady at 2lbs/month, and will be double his birth weight at 4 months.
It is different for bf and ff babies. bf is 4-7 ounces/week initially or 0.5-1oz/day. I think FF babies tend to gain more faster. The general guideline is double bw by 6 months and triple by a year, but this varies hugely as well. (Like 5 lb babies weigh more than 15lb at a year, and 10lb babies may be below that).

Thanks, I appreciate it. It doesn't make me feel bad -- our situation just is what it is, and I know I've put in all the effort I can. I absolutely can't let myself go crazy over all of it -- it'd be too much. Do I wish that boobs were enough? Absolutely. Formula is expensive and a PITA. I just hope next go around things work more like they're supposed to. (Eta spelling)
