Where you lay the jacket on the floor and stand at the collar. Put hands on sleeve holes and flip it up over your head. What's that gif app I'll make it.
Ok and I have to add this cuz you all know my nap struggles. We came into her room a few mins after 1. Read two books. She got in bed and is asleep. It's 1:22. I can't believe this keeps happening.
IMMS that M can put her jacket on by herself. With the flip method. I started showing her, and I know my mom did too - like last week. We were leaving today and I tossed it on the ground and said - can you do it. She casually sticks her arms in and puts it on. I'm like WOAH. She wants to do all the things.
I knew there was some trick to putting on a coat, I just didn't know what it was still. I just Googled it. I'll be getting to get V to do this now. He insists on wearing his boots whenever we go out because he can get them on himself. Getting ready to leave might be a little quicker of he can do more on his own.

IMMS that I got to help out with E's kindergarten class this morning, and he's not old enough yet that he's embarrassed to say "I love you, Mama!" and kiss me goodbye in front of his friends. And the librarian said he looks just like me, which is awesome to hear because he is basically a mini version of his dad. And I got to shelve library books, so fun!
IMMS that the allergist had a cancellation for this week, so I think I'm going to go ahead and try to get P in here. It may not be the greatest idea with the upcoming move, but I'm tired of sitting around doing nothing.
Ooh, that's great TJ. Good luck to P! And I agree with everyone else, it might benefit you after the move.

What did you do?? My mon a thinks I should put the toddler bed up in Js room and explain tht it's his napping bed, but I just don't see it happening. Is she ok at night?

Our room is really close to hers so we hear her when she wakes. If she gets up and we get there fast she goes right back down. If we don't she comes in our room looking for us. Usually one of us ends up sleeping on the floor in her room for part of the night so she's getting used to staying there. She wakes and calls us and we just speak and she knows we are there. It's working slowly.
It's her crib with a side off and the mattress on the floor (actually some foam mats under). With a metal bed frame cuz she moves a lot. She knows and likes that this is her bed which is miles from how she treated it as a crib. But she's also almost 21 months now which feels miles from when she was 14-18 as far as understanding her world.

IMMS that I figured out how to properly wear dd2 in my new ring sling. She even let me take a picture and said cheese! Now I just have to wait patiently for my new squish to get here.

I will have to try that, @ stringy!
IMMS that I got called to help with childcare for my local autism support group. I used to do it all the time, but the last time I went, I was pregnant with N. It was tricky trying to get in the floor while wearing L, but he got a kick out of watching all the kids and seeing the bright rooms. For me, it was nice to dust off my teacher hat a little bit.

I feel like the toddler bed helped V too. Almost like in the other thread about play yards, he knew he was contained, hated it, and screamed. He's still not sleeping perfectly, but what kid is? Bedtime and Nap time don't take an hour anymore, he happily climbs in bed, he'll even read books in his bed, and as long as we're in the room, he falls asleep on his own now.

L was in a toddler bed by now, Im terrified to try with J. I feel like she was so much more mature.
The flip method is failing so far. Every time V tries to flip the jacket over his head, one of the sleeves falls off, or his arms end up awkward and stuck.

Do you have a jacket with smooth sleeves? That helps. But yea sometimes awkward. Try to reach far in the holes too. Oh and one without a hood to learn too. The hood keeps ending up in her face.

At first I tried one of his fleeces, which I thought was kinda sticking to his sleeves. So then I got one of his vests out, no hood or sleeves. I tried his winter coat. All of these he seemed to get tangled up, stuck, sleeves fall off his arms, or just can't get it overt his big head. Well keep trying. ...maybe he just needs more practice.

This sounds so cute and funny, though probably annoying for her. But precious nonetheless!
