appetizer help -- meatball recipes?

I buy the frozen meatballs and put them in the crockpot with a jar of grape jelly and a bottle of bbq sauce. They are super good and easy.

I always prefer turkey over beef meatballs. When done right they're juicy, flavorful and delicious! i don't follow a recipe anymore, but this sounds similar to what I make. More traditional than the recipe above (which I've heard is fantastic) so I think it depends on what you're going for.

Instead of all the spices listed, I just use an "Italian seasoning" blend.

Over the summer I took a giant bag of frozen mini meatballs and a bottle of hot wing sauce and put them in the slow cooker together all day before a party. And then I put them in a bowl and put some blue cheese dressing in another bowl for dipping. Everyone wanted to know my recipe.

Cranberry sauce and chili sauce is also pretty tasty.

That's what I've made for years and it's always a huge hit. I usually have to make double batches for parties because they go so fast.

This sounds like an interesting combo.  I don't know that I've ever had just a plain chili sauce like Heinz.  Is it really hot?  SD does not dig spicy shit. 

It's not very hot at all. The chili sauce is a step or two above ketchup. 

Also, it's the top rated meatball recipe on allrecipes, so you know you can't go wrong. Even before I had a kid, I was too busy to make my own meatballs, so this was always super easy and got good reviews.

For super bowl appetizers, I'd totally go the store-bought frozen route. I just put them in a crock pot and cover with tomato sauce. You can bring cheese/buns for meatball subs.

I'm intrigued by the jelly...

It's basically this, but we've done chili sauce and cranberry sauce.  I was adamantly opposed the first time I ate it because it sounded awful, but it's really good.  Kind of like sweet and sour sauce.
