I'm so glad she's finally home and you can have your entire family in one place. You've all been on such a crazy, scary, amazing journey. I can't even imagine how it must feel to be at your new home, with your new family of four. Enjoy it!

Yay Emmeline! And yay you, YH, and Joey! I've been keeping my circle of friends/family updated and can't wait to pass along this news. There's been and will continue to be an outpouring of love and prayers for your family from here in Richmond. So many happy hugs to you!
trixi282 how are you all settling in as a family of 4??
Ha, well - it's going okay. Let's just say that yesterday there was probably 2 times I felt like I was failing at life in general... I don't think it helps that we came home with like 3 bags worth of supplies for her g-tube and special feeding instructions and nowhere to put everything... thank God I had received a Similac sample thing in the mail, because we hadn't bought formula yet....
Today was a tiny bit better after we got a little organized. Joey is doing okay with the transition, but I feel like her whine factor has gone up 10 fold in just 2 days. She is whining and crying over everything, she is being a little brat and not listening 1/2 the time. H and I are trying really hard to be calm, patient, and understanding, but it's really hard when your kid throws a 20 minute tantrum over wanting muffins for a snack 3 minutes before dinner is ready, and says she doesn't want dinner. She LITERALLY grabbed the back pockets of my jeans and started to hang from them and I lost my shit on her for a minute.
Besides that, Emmeline is doing really, really well. She's sleeping like an angel and settling in really well.
We had our first ped appointment this afternoon, and it went well... although there were a few moments I just had to nod, smile, and take some of the talk with a grain of salt. I haven't had a ped at our new practice that I love yet (we've seen 2 diff w/Joey and today was a 3rd). This one was better, and I've heard she's really detail oriented (one of the NICU docs said she can be TOO detailed sometimes), which I think will be good for Emme... but at the same rate, a few things she said were just annoying. *sigh* I seriously loved our Ped in VA, it's so hard to find another.
All in all it's going okay, but I hate that I have to squeeze in work the next two weeks too... life is so happy and sucky at the same time!
