He set up a scavenger hunt all over DFW through meaningful spots we had been to throughout dating- complete with clues, packages, friends and strangers alike contributing. The final clue was him at a pond on one knee. Since I was widowed, he took my children out the day before and asked their permission.

It was Sunday, November 14th 2010 and I just got out of a bath when he came over- I looked like poop with my hair wet, jeans and Tshirt with no make up on and I was sick all week. When I went into the kitchen to greet him he had a long stem rose in his hand. At first I was confused I thought the rose was a hope you feel better rose so I just said aww thanks for the rose baby and he kept eye balling the ring and that's when I saw the ring! I was completely shocked and so excited- I don't think he asked but he swears he did. I called my mom up who was having dinner at my aunts house and screamed it into the phone. We drove over there to show off the ring and on the 20/25 min ride I made about 20 phone calls!

@bunannie I love it! Our stories are very similar, I could have elaborated as we have actually known each other since I was 16 and he was 12 and there were years of knowing each other but not till that last year were things ever lined up in a way it might work out! I hope that makes sense!
I agree though, when you know you know! Life's too short for second guesses!
