Hi notches. We had a fantastic short vacation. We all took today off to finish cleaning and putting things away after vacation. DD loved the fair and the zoo and she is a freaking unicorn child. It was so good to see a bunch of my college friends and meet their kids!
sweetsurprise and Ajh hope your Monday gets better!!
I am in DC and have a 2 hour drive to work with my coworkers as soon as they land. I saw this and thought of you ladies, has anyone seen this game exploding kittens!? Haha
kellrr, are you still taking fenugreek? If so, has DS been extra gassy? Could that have something to do with his fussy wake up last night? I'm asking because I was taking it when DD was younger and had to stop because it gave her terrible gas and she was super miserable from it. I just started taking it again a few days ago, figuring she's older and could handle it better, in hopes of keeping my now dwindling supply up for the next month and a half and suddenly we're having more wake ups. My kid was STTN pretty regularly but the last few days she has been having one wake up MOTN and then getting up earlier than usual in the morning so I'm wondering if it's gas from the fenugreek again and if maybe you're having a similar issue?

So here's the gem from the MIL visit on Saturday: She brought over a pack of Oreos. DH said thanks but we are really trying to eat healthy so please take them home with you. MIL said she had bought them for F and then proceeded to hand F an Oreo! DH grabbed it and said some choice words and reminded MIL that we are not giving F sweets or sugars or highly processed foods. MIL laughed, said F will be just fine, and handed her another Oreo. This woman is not doing herself any favors.

That sounds so fun Glad you had a good time and DD was a unicorn!

supplycloset - ughhh! I hate it when in-laws don't respect boundaries!

Wow. She sounds like a gem. My IL i give dD1 soo much candy. We say something and they do better for awhile but then start going overboard again. Its so annoying.
I woke up extra early this morning and asked DH to do day care drop off because it's the first day of school and I wanted to avoid traffic. Everything went smoothly (almost too smoothly) and I left the house at 6:30am. I was almost to the highway 15 minutes later when DH called and asked where the infant car seat was. Guess what? It was attached to the base in the back seat of my car! We usually take it out but it's been getting really heavy with DS2 and last night, I just took him out of it because I usually do drop off in the mornings.
I had to turn around and go back home. Luckily I still avoided most of the traffic but I got to work 30 minutes later than I would have without the detour.
Whoops I think I gave everyone the wrong idea. My kids are too young for school and I don't work in a school - I have an hour commute to work and traffic is usually horrendous on the first day of school which is why I was leaving my house extra early to avoid the madness.

Hi everyone! Just doing same old housework and chores today. Waiting on pins and needles to hear about our house inspection and on our offer for the house we want. Im so hoping we will hear today!

That could be your culprit, but I stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago. My supply is still fragile, but I was producing more than I needed with it and felt full if I didn't pump after his morning feedings (which is a PITA.) When I was taking it, he was more gassy but didn't seem uncomfortable. This was a whole different kind of misery. ETA: sorry DD is not sleeping well!

Mine wouldn't be allowed around my kid after that. The first Oreo I could forgive, but the second? GTFO!

Sorry for the bad days everyone! We are having a bad one too. I got sick and of course it's days before DH starts his last semester of classes for his master's. Luckily Harrison isn't sick so, knock on wood, he doesn't catch it. Hope everyone's day gets better!

DD seemed more gassy with fenugreek but it didn't bother her sleeping. I'm with you on the dwindling supply.

I wish I had been home so I could have talked to her and then thrown her out. DH is too much of a wuss. When I did get home from work, I grabbed F and started crying uncontrollably (I got the call that my Uncle had passed while alone at work) so DH was hugging me and calming me down. MIL walks up and says: oh, did somebody have a wuff day at work? (Yes, she said wuff not rough and said it sarcastically.) I said my Uncle just f'n died and it's time for you to go home. I cannot stand that woman!!!!

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a free grocery list or meal planning app?
Not an app, but every year Real Simple magazine does a month of weeknight dinners, which includes grocery lists. When I'm in a real funk, I do that. Most of the recipes are really good, and it's really well designed (reuses some ingredients through the week, uses up highly perishable items early in the week, etc.) Here's a link to one of my faves: www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/recipe-collections-favorites/month-of-dinner-recipes

I'm so sorry about your uncle and seriously your MIL is a piece of work. Hugs lady.

So sorry to hear about your uncle. Have you talked to DH about limiting your time with her? One way might be to set a weekly dinner date when DH can be home, too, and then just tell her you don't want her dropping in other times because it makes it hard for you to get things done that you need to do for your family. I mean, I'm assuming you can't just tell her to fuck off forever. That would be ideal, but, yah, not likely.

I think kellrr is being too nice. I like the telling her to fuck off option better!

I'm thinking about getting Hydroxycut. I know it's not natural and basically legal speed. But maybe it will help with my energy, which will help with my motivation, which will have me doing more than sitting on the couch eating chips and crying about how my jeans don't fit...

I'm not saying don't do it but if you do be careful. I have gone the diet pill route in the past and it can really mess with your appetite. Like I wouldn't be hungry all day so I just wouldn't eat. So yeah, I lost weight fast but it wasn't the healthy permanent type of weight loss, you know? If you're mainly doing it to up your energy and motivate you it's probably ok, just make sure you're not skipping meals or anything.
